In-Hand Images of Takara Tomy Transformers TLK-EX Dark Optimus

Via toy blogger Alfes2010 on Twitter, we have a couple of in-hand images of the Takara Tomy Transformers: The Last Knight Gold Vector Shield exclusive accessory - which, as the name suggests, is a gold chromed shield for the Optimus Prime figure from the movie line. Check them out below!

I usually hate chrome, but this is just gorrrrrrrgeous

Which probably doesn't make any difference to me cos things like this are near impossible to get and likely expensive anyways.

It's the shield that's being shown off. It's a campaign item that comes by itself.

Yeah it's a shield for leader class optimus. I clicked hoping it was for voyager.

Well, if it's held by a 5mm peg (I don't know that it is or not), any size class could hold it.

From toy blogger Alfes2010 and Taiwan-based fan Yu Ting An, we have some new in-hand images of Takara Tomy Transformers' The Last Knight (TLK-15) Calibur Optimus Prime - their pumped up leader class figure for the Autobot commander! Included in the images below, we get to see the accessories, robot and vehicle mode, and comparisons with Age of Extinction's (Lost Age, technically) AD-31 Armor Knight Optimus Prime. That mod for the backpack shield is rather impressive. I do wish the flames where that darker red though... Looks like an amazing figure, and the best-of-the-best in every way. I really don't know how Hasbro hasn't gotten this one or the previous version out of Japan.

It's nice (particularly the paintjob) but I still hate those shoulder pads and how you can't put flames on them cos they form the top of the truck.

That's a good point. Flames on those shoulders would look badass... Maybe if they could rotate around? But then you'd expose the ball-socket.

The whole backpack comes of and forms a riot shield.

So basically, the horrid backpack can detatch? Well, partsforming is a solution, but it's not the best one.

I'm actually quite impressed it can still clip on the back in "standard" configuration. I like that the shield passes the accessory test at first glance.... really have to catch it at an angle/side to notice the kibble.

That's pretty damn cool. Not accurate at all but hey, it looks awesome. I'm loving that shield and the axe.

That can't be helped, really. It's a TakaraTomy-original idea like the Armor Knight retool, with no involvement from Hasbro whatsoever, so they have to wait until TakaraTomy is done with it before even attempting to release it.

Whatever the logistics reason, it's still stupid. Hasbro would rather rush out something already made in hopes of a quick buck than work out a deal with Takara in the huge amount of time they had between films.
