Huh. Looks okay but they went way too dark with the burgundy. Easy pass for me.

Has his hands been modified to fit 5mm pegs? if so I want him...who am I kidding I want him anyways, lol.

Gotta hate that dark burgandy roof, front end, and middle of the spoiler in car mode.

screw the mini-cons. Does the new engine block hold Sidearm or the new 3rd party targetmasters coming out ??? i doubt it...

And I was loking forward for a more G1-accurate Hot Rod, but that dark burgendy killed it.

Oh well, that's 40 bucks I don't have to pay.

Terrible. The vehicle mode looks patched together. All they had to do was make it shiny ... what were they thinking with this?

IMO there are paint flaws in both modes. But know matter my current Roddy is a bit loose to hold the Protecto-armor so he'll do nicely!

Great, a version of this mold that I actually WANT. Like I didn't have enough to spend my money on with trying to get the First Editions that will never be released in my area...

Cool idea with the minicon port but Henkei Hot Rod looks much better. And yes, I realize this is Rodimus colors. Still a miss in my opinion.

Thats a really ugly repaint of a really nice mold.

Flame details - yes

Muddy mismatched burgundy - no
White hands and face - no

The nice flame details just don't make up for the other horrors inflicted on this poor toy.

I'd love one in the magenta of the Masterpiece, though.

You know, I'd be tempted to pick this up to kitbash with parts from other releases of the mold into proper Targetmaster Rodimus if the blasted Targetmaster wouldn't be so pricey on top of that.

At least it's better than Battle in Space/Challenge at Cybertron Rodimus....

Maybe marginally. But if you have to compare it to BIS Rodimus to make it look good something's VERY wrong.

Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes! I'd love a Hot Rod in the colours of Hot Rod. MP is too expensive for me right now (as if it's going to get any cheaper ) and since it looks like we're not likely to get a new version of Hot Rod that looks like the cartoon alt-mode, or has Generations style engineering, at least not any time soon, I'd be very happy to pay for a proper magenta Hot Rod.

I know Reprolabels have gifted us with a few Hot Rod / Rodimus sticker sets, but if they could see themselves making the United flame designs work with Henkei Hot Rod I'd be very interested. The two-tone bodywork and split spoiler just aren't working for me.

I really like this Rodimus but was a bit disappointed when he came with no flames along the sides. Did Reprolabels come out with a set to fix that problem? I do know they did a few but I'm talking about decals for "Challenge at Cybertron" Roddy.

Gundam...I just now noticed that he does have a pasty white face...WTF? Do you think they did it because they wanted to capture that same paint app like MP Rodimus but went too far?

Looks good to me. I like that it's remolded despite having no use for that bit. Still getting it. The roof deco is changed on this guy too. Surprised no one mentioned it.

I've been staring at these photos a lot lately. I'm still on the fence.

I was on the fence until I found this guy on the shelf with Thunderwing and Megatron on an unrelated trip to the Mattō TRU. I'm very happy with the near-impulse purchase. There's a LOT of paint on this guy. It seems a small thing, but it's the orange & yellow on the tops of his wrists that really makes it for me. It's the sort of thing I'm used to putting on a reprolabel sticker for. The white face looks fine to me, but the white hands... well let's just say he'll always hold his weapon so I only have to see one of them. My figures don't spend much time in vehicle mode so I don't mind the mismatched top of the car. I don't buy figures often in Japan since all the prices are about $10 higher even if you're buying locally, but I'm glad I was weak when I found United Rodimus!

For a long time i heard this guy wasnt going to made anymore, and heard a bunch of rumors about the mold broke or was overused, something like that, but i have 3 of these guys; a Henkei one and yes he is MINT in MISB, a RID version and the 2 pack version with Cyclonus. No need for another, but who really knows and i may break and get him. Theres needs to be another Henkei Prime made as well.

Now *that* mold is beyond use. The Rodimus one is still good it seems.

There's a difference between deteriorated, broken and lost. The G1 Constructicon molds were merely lost, like the G1 Dinobot ones. Now, G1 Wheeljack is confirmed broken, so no chance of reissues there. And we all know full well what deteriorated means In the case of Classics Voyager Optimus Prime, either the SG or the Universe Nemesis Prime release has alignment issues, a common symptom of mold deterioration.

lol, okay. It's not beyond their abilities to re-tool it to fix the issues or simply do a new cast, so it's still a weak excuse from HasTak. I guess it shuts up most of the people whining for 'x' figure, so it works for them.

O, trust me it isn't beyond their abilities at all. It's just very costly. It's like needing paying twice for the same mold in order to use it again, that can be a pretty expensive joke. Then you may as well start from scratch.

I guess so. I would've thought that modern advances make the process cheaper, but probably not. Oh well, we just have to live with the fact that G1 Wheeljack will probably never see the light of day again unless Takara goes crazy or somehthing.

Had the preorder for it for the longest time. Cancelled closer to release due to the over-spray on the face and imperfections on the door panels. But the gimmick of the packagin sticker... "limited release" and the elitist in me slapped it back into the POL.

I just don't want to be kicking myself once the 3P's start thinkin of things to do with that targetmaster peg.

Though it seems I'm building an autobot seeker army, I never thought I'd buy this many of them. In any case, I'll find a use for it. It's an OG Classics mold after all.

Takara is doing some official targetmasters again. Seems they're going to fill that hole with some love of their own.

The purchase is becoming a more and more likely scenario for me.
