Japan Lawson Exclusive Black Optimus Prime Figure

Another Prime, another black repaint. This time the figure is exclusive to the Japanese convenience store chain Lawson for those who also purchase a ticket for the 3D showing of what is known in Japan as "Transformers: Darkside Moon". The figure will be a repaint of HFTD Voyager Battle Blades Optimus Prime. The total cost of the figure and movie ticket will be 6,760 yen, or around $70.
In addition Lawson will carry an exclusive metal strap for attaching to cell phones or handheld consoles.

Dark of the Moon = Dark Side (of the) Moon. It was probably done to ease the Japanese pronunciation of the title, as Japanese doesn't have that much of a distinction between h and f with certain vowels. If anything, the "fu" sound is noticeably softer compared to English, to the point of it sounding like a hard "hu" (hence the Engrish "Fu fu fu").
Intentionally or not, it's a clever reference to the Predacon ship in Beast Wars, which was retroactively called "Darksyde" from the line "Welcome to the dark side" in the cartoon.

Yea, that's too much.
I'm interested in this guy (cuz I love me some black repaints!) but a buck and a half is just crazy for a Voyager ... that's what the Leader Prime black repaint was in 2009.

I'd go $100 shipped for this guy tops, same as Black Animated Voyager Prime, and that was a 1200-1500 piece exclusive.

The ROTF Black Optimus Prime is on par or cheaper right now. The HFTD Battle Blades Optimus Prime is an underrated mold, but this is an overrated price. To each their own I suppose. I'll rather put my money into getting the Black Jetwing Optimus Prime.
