Good news for those looking for other options for getting the hard to find Velocitron releases from wave 2. Takara has revealed that on June 5th, new preorders will go up. Those include MP Hoist, premium deco Kingdom toys and Velocitron Crasher, Shadowstrip and Galaxy Shuttle. It is unknown if they will be exclusive or not. If they are not exclusive, it could be as simple as ordering them from Amazon Japan. If they are exclusive, we'll see if any western collectible site will import them and if they will end up being viable cheaper options.
But still, it means there will be more of these toys out there. This info comes from Takara's Twitter page.

I wasn't able to ever get Shadowstrip or Crasher though. I think I seen them on Pulse for a minute but either didn't have the money or they were in that weird limbo where the site says it's in stock until you go to check out with them in which case, they're sold out. But they stay "in stock" for hours before being marked as sold out. I never found them in store in my area. I want at least two of each.
I have customs in mind and it just sucks that I wasn't able to find any more Galaxy Shuttle or any at all of Shadowstrip and Crasher.

Beware however, my Galaxy Shuttle is a floppy mess the knees cant support the weight of the toy. Hopefully it was just a case of YMMV.
I only hope that when the G2 Universe line starts to show up, that any additional G2 Stunticons are easier to obtain.

I'm curious though, why they are tentivly releasing them in the Asian market when it was the U.S. market that had limited availability? When I look at listings on ebay about half of them are from China. IMO more Exclusives simply mean continued higher prices.

The problem is that Hasbro makes these based on how the retailers order them. The only reason why they are scarce in the US is because Walmart made them scarce, it has nothing to do with Hasbro. In Europe they were ordering full cases of individual figures so some of the figures that were rare in North America (really just the US, Walmart Canada seemed to have their act together) were plentiful there. I don't believe there was any exclusivity in the Asian market so they just turned up wherever and were easy to get. In Japan they'll be online only, but they have a better track record of fulfilling releases since they tend to do ordering windows and then produce enough to fill the orders.

HotRod was just a repaint. Hound and Hatchet are new molds. We just have to wait.

Retools supposedly, not new molds, but they're also Target releases. Hot Rod being delayed or cancelled was a Walmart call so it's hard to speculate what Target will do based on that. Supposedly they got pushed to next year so they could focus on ROTB exclusives this year. Being Studio Series won't really have a negative effect on their release like a Legacy Evolution delay would.

Also there's a new comic up. Crasher is straight out of Challenge of the GoBots, all the way down to her square hands.

-Skyquake is snapping on a new arm after it got blown off by the kids after he became a zombie. I guess he simply got better, but he also has Tarantulas hovering over him and Knock-out on his left so maybe it was just the mad scientists at work.
-Skids is going after the Insecticons with Robotic Insecticide from the G1 episode "Quest for Survival". It's also a reference to Skids using the insecticide in the Legends comic.
-Twincast and Soundblaster are sitting together, Rewind is sitting in Blaster's chest.
-Inferno seems to be following TM2 Megatron.
-Nemesis Prime and Nemesis Leo Prime are sitting together.
-Dragstrip is shadowed out behind the rest of the Stunticons, seems they don't want to quite commit to him and G2 Shadowstrip being the same character. G2 Laser Prime seems to be looking right at him.
-Skullgrin has the hots for Axelgreese.
-Crankcase looks rightfully terrified to be sitting next to Tarn.
-Hot Shot is holding Starscream's Starsaber, both of their leaders seem to have entered the race at some point.
-Galaxy Shuttle is wearing his launch platform as a flight pack.
-I already mentioned it, but Crasher is made to look even more like her Challenge of the GoBots appearance right down the square hands and powers.
-There's another blacked out character behind Crosscut, the body shape appears to be Bumblebee or Cliffjumper.
-They didn't seem to sneak Core Snarl in there anywhere.
Anything else?

-Prowl's got what I think is an Allspark fragment where his Autobadge should be, insinuating he's back from the dead and/or being kept alive by it like his universe's Starscream?Emerje wrote:Anything else?
-Clampdown's driver/human partner has been a G1 counterpart of Miko from Prime this whole time, so Bulkhead in the stands is probably reacting to the fact that Miko fell into that crevasse Crasher made while driving or he saw what's going on with Arcee next to him, or both it's hard to tell
-All of last year's Core Class releases are missing for some reason, despite the presence of every other mainline non-repack Legacy release + both Velocitron waves

Ah, I couldn't quite tell what he was doing there. Makes we wonder if Nemesis Prime is supposed to be Unicron Trilogy Scourge since both are born from Unicron.

I was wondering what was up with Prowl, good catch. I'm not sure what's up with the lack of Legacy part 1 Cores being missing, they should have at least had the two Pretenders flanking Skullgrin.
I was using the translator app on my phone to see what they were saying and there's a few things of note.
-Burnout (or Dia) called the three new entries the "Makuru Trio". Makuru is a Japanese word meaning "to do over again." Fitting since they're all so drastically different from their previous selves.
-Shadowstrip is shooting out the tunnel lights because apparently he gets faster in the dark
-Galaxy Shuttle's combination with the platform is called "Victory Mode".

Although, someone pointed out to me the presence of Lio Convoy in this alongside his black redeco suggests that the Nemesis Leo Prime seen here may simply be Copy Convoy after all instead of Dark Amber Leo Prime, since Lio Convoy and DALP have a sort "TFTM Thundercracker/Scourge" type of relationship. The rock-eating reference would then be just a reference.Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:G1 Nemesis Prime is also a Unicron-created minion in Japan, per his Masterpiece bios.Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Nemesis Leo Prime is also feeding his lion head a rock, making this not Copy Convoy but instead a repurposing as Dark Amber Leo Prime.Emerje wrote:-Nemesis Prime and Nemesis Leo Prime are sitting together.

It's the second week of the Speedia 500 to determine the leader of the planet Velocitron. Cosmos is still hosting, and notes the emergence of three mysterious black racers—two race cars and... a locomotive? The previous racers are surprised at this intrusion into their race.
One of the black race cars reveals himself to be Shadowstrip, an expert in dark courses who shoots out the lights in the tunnel he's travelling through. Bragging of having obtained the power of shadow, Shadowstrip claims that the darker it gets, the more powerful he is. He's interrupted before he can reach the goal, though, by Crasher creating powerful earthquakes that cause the shadowy Decepticon and Clampdown (with Miko Tezuka inside) to fall into a newly created crack in the ground.
The remaining new racer easily foils Crasher's plan by revealing his space shuttle mode to fly over the crack. Proclaiming this triple changing ability his new power obtained after a remodel, the space shuttle reveals himself as Galaxy Shuttle and he goes on to win the race! The other racers aren't appreciative that this intruder went on to win, but things become more chaotic as many Transformers who were spectating join in for a new race!
Meanwhile, Dia Cinders's G1 World counterpart is arrested by her and Burnout.

I do have a TTM account, I think I'll order one since the shipping should be free within Japan and I'll just have the shipping service I use receive it and sent it to me, shouldn't cost that much, I'd be surprised if the total was more than $90.

If they don't want us to buy the originals, at least the KO will pick up the slack.

The one I saw on eBay was $20 plus $50 shipping from China. It said it came with a box, but no telling if the quality is any good. At $70 total I'll just keep trying to find a way to get one as cheap as possible.
I've been trying to buy one off Takara Tomy Mall as I've done in the past but it looks like they must have changed something to close that possibility. I can go through the entire process, security hurdles and a final approval from my credit card on my phone and it still gets denied at the end. I'm guessing it's because my addresses don't match even though my credit card keeps approving the sale. I've tried my VPN, I've tried virtual credit cards from the issuer intended for this type of thing, nothing works, always ends with a store error on completion.

I've bought from them in the past without one, you just need a shipping service to receive it for you. Something has changed in the last couple years. The TTM recommends using Amazon Pay instead, but when I try that through Amazon Japan it tells me at the end that it can't be used for pre-orders.
I put a request in with Buyee, we'll see what the fee for that looks like.

Got a reply, $60-something for the figure and $5-something for fees, total of $65.99 before shipping, about $10 more than the Hasbro price I can deal with that. Sucks having to go this rout because Walmart failed us, but it sure is beating the eBay totals, I suspect I'll be ending around $90.

90$US counting shipping? 100$US would be a more realistic price. Assume the worst.
Still, even at 100$US total, that's better than if I'd have bought it for you at my local geek store at 90$CAN plus 15% taxes plus at least 35$CAN of shipping.
