Megatron Wolf wrote:hasbro also has coupons for these, $8 off starscream or megatron & $5 off prime. When will hasbro learn "lego" transformers dont sell well, they're popular at first cause its "new" but then people either realize they suck compared to legos or just dont care. Im sure in another 10 years they'll try again and fail yet again. Still say BTR was better, at least they "transformed"

BTR was horrendous. Yeah, it had a core block thing that transformerd, but loads of parts formering was involved.
Kreo is going for more of a model kit kind of look...
The larger sets are nice, but they would not fit too well into my collection. So, still pass

I own allot of Legos myself, I still occasionally sit down and build robots with them. But Tansformers and other hobbies have completely consumed my budget. The only reason I'd buy these is to build something better with their parts, but then I'd have to go hunting for specific parts to complete a project. Legos are simply far too time consuming and expensive for me to get back into them.Diem wrote:I feel like most of the people who are knocking Kre-o haven't tried them. They're actually real good fun and a lot better than a lot of the figures that are on shelves now.

I occasionally find motherloads of Legos at rummage sales. I never hesitate in those cases.
The main reason I might buy some KRE-O is for the heads. Lego really doesn't make heads that resemble Transformers at all.

Same here, I was really interested in getting the Starscream (since it was an homage to the G1 mode instead of Movieverse) and the little Kreons that came packaged with them. The problem I have - if I got one, I'd want to collect them all. Then Christmas came...
I got a nice gift card that was burning my wallet up, so to speak. I decided I would get the Starscream set. Found it onsale at Amazon for $19.99 ($10 off MSRP) and was good until I saw Megatron was also on sale. The completionist in me started up. I'd price checked other online outlets, trying to find the best prices. As mentioned in an earlier post, Sentinel Prime can be had for $20 if you order from Walmart.com, I also got Optimus for $45.
I've had a lot of fun putting these guys together, and they are unique to other items I have on display. So, back to being a completionist... I'm left with the smaller sets to pick up, and I've been picking up 1 every week or two. I'd like to get them at a sale price, but at least the most expensive one for me is the "deluxe" Bumblebee at $24.99. I can handle those prices.
The Kreons melt my adult heart, further justifying my expenses.
