MACHINIMA AND HASBRO ANNOUNCE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FINAL TWO CHAPTERS OF HIT TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED SERIES THE PRIME WARS SAGA
‘TITANS RETURN’ AND ‘POWER OF THE PRIMES’ WOULD FOLLOW THE GLOBAL SUCCESS OF ‘COMBINER WARS,’ WHICH GARNERED 122 MILLION GLOBALLY
Following the massive worldwide interest in Transformers: Combiner Wars, Machinima, the first Many2Many programming service focused on fandom and gamer culture, and Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS), a global play and entertainment company, announced today that they will join forces to develop Titans Return and Power of the Primes, the final two installments of the animated Prime Wars trilogy. Since launching the trilogy’s first installment in August 2016, Transformers: Combiner Wars, has garnered more than 122 million global views on a wide variety of platforms, including go90 (United States), SkyQ (U.K.), AMC Iberia (Spain and Portugal), Sohu (China), and YouTube (rest of world).
The first sequel, The Titans Return, will take the action of the series to new “heights,” and feature return appearances from many fan-favorite Transformers characters as well as introduce a new set of Autobots and Decepticons. Set in the period following the excitement of The Combiner Wars, the depleted forces of Cybertron and a broken Council of Worlds must now face-off against a new threat that is larger than anything that has come before.
Combiner Wars Executive Producer and Showrunner Eric Calderon is returning to oversee the development of the final two installments.

Absolutely no friggin' clue what gimmick that could be though. Then again, not like the name Titans Return would immediately make you think Headmasters.
An off the cuff guess...probably a toy line focusing on the 13 primes. Many have never had an official toy representation, this might be Hasbro's way of introducing them. If that were the case though, that would kind of kill, or make very difficult the idea of the next line being beast Themed, what with the hinting of Onyx Prime in the IDW TF comic, aside from a figure of him himself. But a toy line consisting of all, or mostly primes would sure get cumbersome one would think...but who knows.
One thing is for sure, Machimina's Titans Return will show very few Titans if at all, and Power of the Primes will have almost no Primes appear, if they are consistent that is...

From what I've seen, most of the praise this CW series received came mainly from the communities of Facebook, and that's a rather LARGE amount of viewers.o.supreme wrote:They probably saw simply the number of views on Go90, Youtube, and various other sites, and complete ignored comments & feedback.
'Course, most of the praise came simply from the show's being a G1-style show rather than anything of actual quality (or lack thereof) in the show. Comments like "Oh, it's the Transformers from my childhood finally brought back!" or "G1 lives again!" or "This is WAY better than that stupid RID show!" or "This is how the movies should be!" show just how much of Facebook is home to a fanbase of Geewunners who blinded themselves to any of the show's actual shortcomings all because it used a G1-inspired look (much like how many likewise blind themselves to any of the original G1 cartoon's actual shortcomings, funnily enough).
As long as the Facebook crowd keeps singing blind praises to any garbage product that happens to resemble G1 closely enough, there will always be an audience for more of this foolishness.

I hope they at least consider fixing the biggest issues, or else this'll be a just as bad.
Ughhh.

Facebook seemed to LOVE it.Bronzewolf wrote:Did they....did they read any of the major reviews?! Everything that I read from other sites (although I admit I didn't read much, to try and keep my reviews original and not copypastes.) was negative. Yes there were very definitely positives in the series but really?

Maybe with these I'll just wait until all the parts are released, then proceed to continue to ignore them.

Facebook would love a pile of stool if it had eyes, in fact they already do in the form of the poop emoji.

How ironic considering I was just commenting on Youtube yesterday about how unlike the original series CW was. In fact I don't think it could have been any more dissimilar to the original series. Thankfully I'm not on facebook. Probably folks that haven't seen the series since it originally went off the air.

Does this mean we'll get a Nexus Prime combiner?
Skyfall from Firefly
Landquake from Rook
Breakaway from Skydive
Topspin from Alpha Bravo
Heatwave from Hot Spot

That, and with their best memories of the original series being the uber-violent 1986 movie that had characters dying left and right within its first act.o.supreme wrote:Probably folks that haven't seen the series since it originally went off the air.

No, since the other two series are not combiner-based.
... well, assumedly Power of the Primes isn't combiners. Who knows?

Doubt it since they were too d-bag-ish to even acknowledge the issues.
Maybe it will but I won't be holding my breath except to see the highly anticipated remake of them by Geewun Redone on Youtube.

“The global fan base has really embraced this vision of the Transformers,” said Machinima CEO Chad Gutstein, “and we are thrilled to be working closely with Hasbro developing the next two installments of the series.”
If this series was aimed at older collectors/fans, and if we can agree that places like Seibertron, YouTube comments under the actual Combiner Wars videos, and other sites, like TFW2005, Allspark, etc are legitimate places for such fans to give their opinions, then it's completely untrue that "the global fan basws really embraced" the festering, half-@rsed dung-heap that this web "series"/episode really was.
Children, arguably, don't count, as it was implied, heavily, that this show was aimed at the older collector/fan. The term "global" doesn't really count, either, as it was geo-blocked in some countries, like Japan, where Transformers arguably CAME FROM.
What the idiots at Hasblow Marketing and the slowly dieing Machinima mistakenly believe is that "millions of YouTube views" equals "popularity". It's the same idiocy that's allowed their marketing department to prostitute the intro countless, disposable, irrelevant P2W mobile games.
Vote with your views, folks. Veto the next shows and episodes. In fact, if possible, we could convince Seibertron, and the other sites to veto news about the episodes when they are released, by not giving links or stories about them. If that were possible, without FORCING them to, how could we do it?
(Swypos and typos due to Seibertron not being mobile friendly)

I was going to point to where I called this on a podcast, but I didn't. It was while hanging out with friends and I was going to run through my thoughts on the next comic only show >< Ah well.
So yeah, as you point out, the IDW books have been putting out some smoke signals that something like this is on the way. There's Onyx as you mentioned, plus A3 who's been around awhile and was on a journey in Metroplex with a map at one point of an as-yet-unresolved story. Nexus is dead but has been mentioned, Micronus is an in-universe thing now, the Camiens descend from Solus, the OP book seems to be hinting at Quintus through covers/solicits, based on the Luna 1 material I'd say Liege Maximo is going to matter for Lost Light, Prima and Megatronus write themselves, Amalgamous can be literally anything, then of course there's OP if they go full bore Aligned and have him be Thirteen. Vector Prime can also come from wherever whenever (how great would it be if he was in a briefcase?), and that just leaves Alchemist who is of course the one I always forget and have to look up.
Phew.
Of course this show will probably make 3/4ths of them dead on arrival, have two just be energy blobs and have like one actual appearance of some Prime that's four seconds long in which said Prime will be super angsty and kill some other character because it'll be garbage. Hopefully Hasbro gives the folks working on it a budget where they can show what they're really capable of.
