Overall it looks like a solid upgrade.

Guy really likes to say "And then" and "basically" a lot.

To be honest I kind of fast forwarded through this review so I'm not sure if he mentioned what a bitch it is to get the new head on. The instructions recommend submerging the head in boiling water for 30 seconds to soften the plastic, yeah that doesn't really get it done. I ended up boiling it at least three minutes and it was still very difficult. I recommend carving a little of the plastic out of the new head and applying some lubricant like WD-40 to the ball joint. It would also be a good idea to open the chest up and support the bottom of the plate the ball joint is on so you aren't putting all that pressure on the pins.
They really should have made it a 2-piece system with a screw on the back so you don't have to pop it onto the ball joint and use so much force.
Autobot032 wrote:Not impressed, actually. The robot mode doesn't have enough armor pieces, the battle tank thing in robot mode doesn't look great. Vehicle mode is nice, but dang this thing is rather small. $80-90.00? Maybe. $102-112.00 before shipping? No.
Agreed, but I will easily change my tune if a Scourge version comes out. It's pretty cool for what it is, just kind of expensive.

But I gotta ask...
Does the reviewer who speaks perfect english know the toy company personally ? He insists on pronouncing them as "Maa-Kay" Toys rather then "Make Toys" like the rest of us. Somehow I dont believe the name is meant to be pronounced in Japanese. I think it's just a reference to "making toys" which is what the company does. Just my take on it. I could be wrong.

Battle Tanker upgrade for RtS Optimus Prime is awesome.
Dude can't transform his toy.
Or see when he's making obvious double entendres.

I have never bought a third party product, due to the money fact,
but they keep making really cool stuff. I hope I can buy some sets like this in the future.

On topic: I love this set. I cannot wait for mine to arrive. IMO, this set does what all 3rd party upgrades should do. It takes a mediocre figure and makes it desirable. I haven't even transformed my G2 Prime since I opened him last summer. After I get this set, he will be near the front of my display.

Excellent. Saved myself enough time to make a quick dinner. Cheers!

I'm fed up of folk recording videos of them transforming their figures and calling them 'reviews'. In the entirety of this 25 MINUTE video, there's nothing that couldn't have been learned from a look at the instructions or a single size comparison shot. He didn't talk about plastic quality, paint applications, strength of joints or ease of posability. Nothing that we didn't already know. And if you're going to tell your viewers that the figure is a "full head" taller than Battle Blades Bumblebee, don't then show them standing next to each other to prove you're lying.
This is an instructional presentation that only shows us what this set is meant to do. Not a review that critically analyses the product.

Don't mind the Negative Nancies. Some people - especially TFs fans - bitch about everything.

I just got my figure today & think it's really pretty sweet! The trailer is a great representation of the original G2's trailer. The added height & bulk in robot mode is nice to differentiate him from an un-modded Prime.
The light-up sword is pretty cool, and a novel way to allow the blade to light up w/o having to house the battery in the sword's hilt too... The fact that the silver blade has some light-up detail is especially cool as well!
While it would have been nice to have a head that is held together with a screw (like the original RTS Prime's head), I had no issues getting the replacement head onto the balljoint. I dipped it into the boiling water for 30 seconds, attempted to get it on there (with a finger right on the bottom of the panel to keep it steady/keep the balljoint's peg from shifting & snapping while I was attempting to get it on there)... When it didn't go on as easily as I liked, I popped it back in the water for another round... All-in-all, it took 3-4 attempts (so, 1 1/2 - 2 minutes total?); but the head slid on without much pressure! Oh, and yes; it *DOES* transform fine w/ the larger head!
Swapping the heads out was honestly my only concern with the set, but it turned out to be nothing for me to sweat about! Just take your time & don't apply a lot of force!

Only a few small negatives. The wire for the light up gimmick is very inconveniently placed. It comes out the bottom of the backpack, which is also where the backpack rests on the figure, so the wire gets pinched and the pack doesn't fit solidly. It is also a little difficult to spin the two "arms" around that attach the two tanker halves. It's just in an awkward position to make the move. I did not have much trouble getting the head on either. It took a few extra dunks in the water, but nothing to sweat over.
All in all an excellent upgrade.
