They have also posted an image of a replacement head for their recently released Battle Tanker upgrade for RtS G2 Optimus Prime. Those who own the upgrade know installing the new head can be a tricky endeavor. The instructions advise you to submerge the new head in boiling water for 30 seconds to soften the plastic for an easier installation. Even after doing so the many have snapped the neck post because of the tight fit.The placement seeks to remedy that with a new design and even comes with replacement neck peg if yours was damaged.

Glad they're offering replacement parts for Tanker. I still think requiring disassembling and reassembling at this level is a bit extreme for their first product..

Seriously, steady hands and PATIENCE would probably cure the "issue" at hand here. Sheesh.

Its not rocket science here people, you unscrew original head, carefully peel it apart and put the new one on. I'm guessing the people who are experiencing these "issues" are just attempting to yank off the original head, and jam the new one on.

*BUZZ* Wrong. The replacement head needs to be boiled 30-90 seconds before installation. Even then, it can break the ball joint. It's not that people are inept, it's a design flaw.
Don't guess, read before you start lambasting people.

Unsure about the Fallen. He looks cool but the only Fallen I ever knew was in the Bay-Verse.

Black plastic base.
Weathered silver chrome face plate...
Owe Dee, son!
BTW, good call on the Duocon.

This is going to screw up a lot of younger TF fans since most only know of "the Fallen" from the recent movies and many will starting complaining about this figure without having read the article or done any research further back into the TF mythology.
Regardless of how anyone reacts or what folks say, this is one sweet looking figure and I can't wait to get my hands on this. This will definitely be near the top of my "Must Have" list.

1. Costs more than 10x I paid for the toy it's upgrading
2. Requires the use of power tools to assemble
Sounds like a lot more trouble than it's worth. Sorry.

This has the potential of being the best fallen toy we've received thus far.
best of all this looks to be leader size. as it towers over RTS Prime in battle tanker combined mode.

Fallen: Welp. Looks like my TF budget for next year just shot up by a bunch. That looks freakin' awesome. Wonder what's up with the weird PCC-ish combination ports though.

Gotta load up on the 3mm clip system acc's.
Here's a listing of the C-joint clip figures.
Battle Tanker has these clip pegs as well.

Given that Tanker is their first project, I'd be pissed if I had to pay for the replacement head, especially if I was one of the unfortunate ones who've snapped their Prime's neck. Having to take a drill to what is now a highly in-demand figure is asking for trouble. Can't see MakeToy paying for the cost of a replacement should you annihilate your figure. It's a hell of a drawback for such a cool set.

I was referring to the robot mode which over shadows the fact he turns into 2 tanks. That's all, sport.

Drilling is only needed if you already snapped off the original neck on the figure.

Should I assume you wouldn't because it wouldn't be fitting of the character? It has been hinted that War Within The Fallen's origins lie in a character called Megatronus Prime - neither Autobot or Decepticon.
Quote from Wiki:
The Fallen is a fictional character in the Transformers universes. According to Hasbro, he was formerly known as Megatronus Prime, and is a multiversal singularity, meaning that while he exists across the multiverse, he has no alternate-universe counterpart.
There is room for taking liberties with this Megatronus Prime character; but what if Maketoy is attempting to rewrite the Megatronus Prime character as the name implies: Megatron and Optimus merged in chaos (as the embodiment of the great wars across several universes and alternate realities like SG)? I know... I know, I've over-written; again.
Even the name implies two or more... I know, it's a stretch, but if its two bots that cause chaos in the character, it kicks the back story up a notch - even complimenting the Shadow Scythe character in the Fandomverse.
Either way, I'm in on this project. Pen me down for 2.

I'd rather they didn't. At least not quite so early in their run. They still have to work out the kinks and get the ball rolling some more. Their first real outing that isn't a upgrade is full blown combiner. And not just any ol' Computron or Abominus where they can get all stylistic to get some experience but Devastator. Real altmodes, defined characters, real beloved first season stuff. I'd like to see someone tackle the Stunticons and/or Predaking. Plus, we have some deluxe sized holes that need filling: Trailbreaker, Gears, Brawn, Skids, Blitzwing, Dinobots that aren't bland for the sake of a boring combiner, Shockwave that isn't a boat. And it wouldn't surprise me if iGear wasn't planning to cap it's Wreckers line with Overlord and then we'll have Herc v. Giant all over again (but at least that would be cheaper!)

It does to a certain degree but I do want the first edition of Battle Tanker. Did I read right that also included is a bonus weapon of some sort? I will bite and wait for the new head to go with the set no problem for me. I figured I waited this long for it I can wait a bit more...'nuff said!

Now concerning this Fallen character. I noticed something that no one has mentioned yet. He is a parts former. which means, he breaks into pieces and forms up again to change forms. if you notice, on the right tank, his feet are attached to his formarms. You can see this by the PCC ports on his forarms in his bot mode, and notice the square empty space on his heels. The left tank is made up of his core, his back, and his thighs while the right tank is made up of his arms and his lower legs. His PCC ports in his bot mode will probably still be used to attache his guns like we've seen in previous pictures.
still... pretty sweet.

Yep, first edition will include the bonus Drift sword. How long will these editions be available, no idea. Does it make buying 1st edition a necessity, individual buyer must decide.

You know what, he's not wrong. Good eye! And if you're one of those that had noticed, then shame on you for not speaking up.
I can't stand part-formers. They just strike me as lazy design work. If it were any other character I'd probably right this off here and now, but The Fallen is the exception to the rule. Being a character of ancient times, you could simply pass it off as an early crude attempt at transforming. I like it, and I wonder if there is the possibility of multiple permutations.

OK, I'll admit it. The idea of condensing the conflict between Optimus and Megatron into one tortured soul is pretty awesome. But I would imagine such a being having a psychological state more like Autobot Spike or Transmetals II Dinobot, not a rampant force of destruction like The Fallen. Megatron may be an evil tyrant bent on galactic domination, but most of his incarnations have shown reason, logic and order at some time or another. Megatron and Optimus are too similar for a merger to create such chaos.
Then there's the fact that Megatronus was one of the Original 13 Cybertronians who were created by Primus long before the time of Megatron and Optimus. To change his origins so that he's a combination of the two would surely contradict the notion that he's a singular multi-verse entity.
At the end of the day, TFSeeker highlighting the fact this figure is a part-former I think would make two individual robot modes a difficult thing to achieve.
Posted by Dead Metal on December 12th, 2011 @ 1:32pm CST
You do realise that parts forming is the most logical way to do this guy, after all he wasn't originally designed with an actual alt-mode in mind, he was designed to look badass in bot-mode and kinda like a tank.
And this looks so accurate that the tank-modes are just there to justify his status as a Transformers character so people don't go "F**king Actionmasters", without compromising his accurate bot-mode.
Court Jester wrote:I wonder what that hinge on the treads are for...
I believe they will hide the hands when in alt-mode.
I hope they don't try to paint flames on this bad-boy and instead go with translucent plastic flames.

That would look awesome. I would happily settle for some UV reactive reprolabels flames stickers though.

@ Dead Metal: Nobody's stating fact other than what's observed. I was speculating into the possible. In regards to the hinges on treads of the upper body (back) of the bot mode, they remain unfolded in both modes. More than meets the eye with this one...

Court Jester wrote:@ Sodan-1: I see your point in Megs and OP sharing qualities. Still, the mystery surrounding the character is what draws me to further speculation, hence interest in acquiring the toy. I love story - especially the kind of stories that I haven't been privy to yet. I love discovering a story instead of painting by the numbers with the same hue palette. In other words, good call, but here's to hoping for depth.

They will probably hide the hands when in alt-mode and close over them again. Kinda like Generations Warpath.

Ah, OK I see them now, silly me.
Might still hide something in ether alt or bot-mode. Like a connector or something that's needed for transformation, kinda like you have to open up the Classics Seeker body and then close it again during transformation.
