We don't actually know if it's 'Takara's' yet, as the image is exactly the same as the one that was used on the back of the package for the U.S. release. It could be that they're just using an outdated publicity photo and the figure will be the same as ours.
Oddly enough, that head is the same one he had in the comics.

Yes, it is ironic. Some English words get adopted without translating into Japanese if they are iconic. I suspect that "Autobot" is used in the movie, so Takara used "Autobot" for the toys.
