As a refresher, and a late addition to the previous story, Big Powered appears to use components from Overlord/Sky Shadow and Twintwist, all from Titans Return / Legends. So not quite a whole new mold, but still some unique potential mold reuses, straight out of Transformers Zone as the combined vehicle form of Cybertron Powered Masters Dai Atlas, Sonic Bomber, and Roadfire. Check out the new angled images mirrored below!

What I really mean is it's just 4 toys getting stacked on top of each others. It's a very lazy and pointless design. I can do this myself with anything lying around. There is no streamlining, nothing integrate. I love big combined ships. But this is not a combination. It's a stack of junk.
Combined ships that do it right:
Armada Tidalwave.
G1 Victory Saber:
There's might be others.
BTW, a bit off topic but it was so random that I just had to share.
When a bot go beyond combining and become Legion:
Dafok am looking at?

4 bots?
I think it's a good attempt without making completely new molds.
Also that last picture that's some mugen madness I would love some of those toys but I dread to think how much it would cost to do that!

More like 4 parts, Dai Atlas may or may not split in two given the mold's pedigree.
Posted by Sabrblade on September 30th, 2018 @ 11:47am CDT
As is, however, the images instead look like Sonic Bomber attaches to at least just the tank part and Roadfire the jet part rather than vice versa being another option.

That's definitely a cockpit in that gun so these probably will still remain Headmasters. This is Legends after all so it fits their story.

I ont really undestand why it wouldnt split. Dont we see the jet on top of the tank in these pics? So then its already split no?

Unless they retooled the two components to be permanently joined into one big treaded drill jet the like original toy (which I sincerely doubt will be the case).william-james88 wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:4 bots?

Yup!
I can definitely see the retool from the original

Misfire, a little voodoo retooling on the nosecone cockpit.
Black Shadow is kind of tricky, will the tank turret be retained like original? Or just a flat platform with tank treads? Will the jet mode + tank part combo of the original have a more secure clamp/connection? Even with the JP Overlord, the clamp still felt loose. As for the nosecone drill, retractable?
This will look awesome once colored .

The thing is, it's no more a tank than a big treaded vehicle like Star Convoy's Tread Unit as there's no discernible turret. And retooling it to stay one unit isn't that hard, just need to be creative with the new pelvis which is now in the back.
O well, keeping both possibilities open.

Sonic Bomber is the size of a modern Voyager. This new one will be a shrimp next to the original.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Looks like two deluxes and a leader isn't that far off from the original.

fenrir72 wrote:Roadfire's gun barrel and cockpit seems to be fused unlike the original (or maybe detachable?). Thus the cockpit front part I mentioned that would be part of Topspin's front can be detached by those clamps and connects onto Sonic bomber's topside now.
Dai Atlas' top.
And I don't think that will be the connection. Those are not clamps, they're the hinges for the fists, with sprue marks right below.

Now, now size doesn't matter.

fenrir72 wrote:Original Overlord was also bigger than the original. So a little downsizing is in effect (Dai Atlas is or was Ultra Class?)
Dai Atlas from Univwerse was a repaint of G1 Skyquake. So technically, an Ultra Class.
Posted by Sabrblade on October 1st, 2018 @ 9:54pm CDT
G1 Dai Atlas was a big dude, yes, about the size of the old Super class that eventually evolved in the Leader class, which was later downsized during AOE to be shorter than the old Super class height and more like the height of the Ultra class.fenrir72 wrote:Original Overlord was also bigger than the original. So this basically is the same situation as what happened to Overlord between his G1 toy and his Titans Return/Legends toy, albeit with Overlord's G1 toy having been even larger than Dai Atlas's, more like a Supreme class figure of the Unicron Trilogy.
Posted by ScottyP on October 3rd, 2018 @ 8:19am CDT
Using modern scale, Sonic Bomber would be a Voyager, Road Fire might be sold as a Voyager that almost didn't fit in the box, and Dai Atlas would be a Leader that they'd have to raise the price for.
Using 2005-2010 scale, Sonic Bomber would be a large Deluxe, Road Fire would be a Cybertron/RotF sized Voyager, and Dai Atlas would be Leader.

The new image is small, and grainy, since it comes from the randomized display of figures on Takaratomy Mall but it is in colour, and you can check it out below! That small icon also shows us the price, which will be 16,200 Yen. With this being an LG-EX release, we can roughly estimate now that the price at domestic importers (like BBTS, TF Source ect) would be around the $160-$170 USD range. Let us know what you think in the discussion boards too.

I would pay that no sweat! If it turned to be that same retail price as the recently released Ecore God Fire Convoy.... ....yes I would still pay it!

The average "leader" figure for Titans returns (in Legends) was about $70 (considering 3p retail sites after shipping etc...), the standard "deluxe" were about $35, but always included a Titan Master.
There was only one Leader EX (Greatshot) and goes for about $95. If we guesstimate a "Deluxe EX" would between $40-$50, that comes out to between $170-$190 (for stores like BBTS TF Source etc...) I'm personally hoping it's more conservative, around $160. But Maybe they'll split the difference at $175.
I'm only stating this because there is no direct way (I'm aware of) for fans outside japan to order from mall is there? And even if there were. $143, after shipping, import taxes etc... would probably be close to $170 anyway.
I would love Hasbro to release this, but considering they never did any of the other EX releases I'm doubtful, unless "Brand Unification" really does mean things can o both ways. Someone should have asked Warden at NYCC. Maybe at ToyFare?

They almost always do get in Takara Tomy Mall "exclusives," so I wouldn't worry about this set being available for pre-order soon at US online retail.

I’m sure Wardens response woulda been “they’re making what?”
It’ll be available through online retailers. Half warriors unite were mall exclusives and everyone carried them.
Can’t really argue that the price doesn’t match the sum of the parts when it’s a mall exclusive Takara legends deadlock was $90, same as convobat and TFCC was charging $90 for an exclusive deluxe a couple years ago.

I get what you mean, but the better examples are Grand Max and Unite Warriors Galvatron. The two you mentionned were e-hobby exclusives, not TTMall exclusives.

I agree but you know what I mean. Being an exclusive bumps the price and it’s a debate whether that’s justified or not. For me it’s just chunks of plastic and sometimes it’s worth it sometimes not. I think I’ll get this. Still need to get Greatshot... I hated victory, still a series I can’t get through but I do like Dai Atlas and I do enjoy those molds

Nah, that would've been Archer's response. Warden's a JG1 fan. His response would probably be something like "That set is really cool. We've got some cool stuff too. Check this out..." and then he'd turn our attention to the known Hasbro stuff.Randomhero wrote:I’m sure Wardens response woulda been “they’re making what?”

He can say it’s cool but yeah we’d more than likely to not get it. Box sets don’t sell well, that’s why we don’t get them anymore it also just comes down to if Takara would share their retools. While we are in a time when Takara and Hasbro are unifying the brand, the legends stuff is still Takara doing their own thing. How long did it take to get the Blast off figure? Hasbro filly admitted for years “Yeah we don’t know if we’ll be releasing that” eventually we did but it took a couple years

At the same time, much of that was also likely Hasbro trying to keep people interested in buying their own product (e.g. - CW jet Blast Off) over Takara's version for as long as possible.Randomhero wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Nah, that would've been Archer's response. Recall how UW Computron was unveiled by Takara at roughly the same time that Hasbro revealed CW Computron at BotCon 2016. When at that con, I asked Warden if there were any feelings towards Takara potentially stealing their thunder by revealing the much more extensively retooled and more G1-accurate UW version that same weekend. Warden cheerfully chuckled at the thought and went right into insisting on how cool the CW version was and all that it had to offer over the UW version.

These images really show us the extent of the retooling done to the molds, as these 3 figures are based off of Titans Return/Legends Misfire, Twintwist, and Overlord. Important to note is that the tank half of Overlord appears to have had the turret removed entirely, allowing Dai Altas to have 1 singular alternate mode as a jet with tank treads underneath.
We also get a good glimpse at all 3 figures in what appears to be "base modes" and we also see their cool new accessories.
The figure is currently up for pre-order from the Mall for 15,000 yen (Around $135 USD) and has a March 2019 arrival date.
Check out the images below, and let us know what you think of this figure in the comments section below!
