OK so it looks like instead of a sliding mechanism the forearms open and the hands fold in revealing truck parts; there's no rotating at the waist required for transformation; the matrix chamber is on the same hinge as the head and that all folds forward; didn't see how the wheels come out but there's more truck parts connected. I'd really like this but still not at that price.

The forearm/hand transformation seems to be very busy in contrast to MP1 which just use a quick sliding mechanism. Since the head fold down from the front, I'm just curious where's the seating for Spike to sit on come to play.

though the bot mode is much smaller, the truck mode doesnt seem that much smaller, so it should still fit in well with my alternators/binaltechs

Exactly. This has got me worried about future releases in this line. The prices keep going up and up and as such fewer and fewer people will want to/be able to afford them which would see fewer sales and we all know what happens to lines that dont sell well.
Do they think that they can charge this much because its Prime and they know that people like Prime?
Im sticking with my MP-04 Perfect Edition as its bigger and cost less!

Oh and I am guessing we will see the obligatory white and black repaints at some point... and then a sleep version..and then a Final edition just before they unveil a new version.

And, several things really bother me about it.
1. The Autobot logo in the wrong location on the trailer.
2. The stuby gun.
3. The robot proportions are all incorrect.
I hope seeing it in person does it more justice than the pictures are doing for it. IGears's Masterpiece Not-Ramjet is a prime example of this.
But 250 bucks? Wow. That's pure greed.

Spike will need to ride in the trailer.

I wonder if TakaraTomy's aim is put the MP figures in the same price range as Gundam figures, which can ball park around $200-250 (and they are unassembled, unpainted models).

I posted the exact same on the first thread that was up when we heard the news about MP-10 being another version of Optimus.
It's sad but true that we will inevitably see those pointless other versions as well to maximise profits on the new mold.
This should have been kept back for at least another year. It's just way too soon after all the Prime versions we've had in the last 12 months. Ditto Rodimus version 2. It's an insult to fans and a real slap in the fact to everyone who saved and shelled out hard earned cash on the other versions as well.
I think the size looks fine (always thought MP Prime and Megatron were a wee bit big) and he looks awesome but I want to see a full review by someone who can hold a camera steady and who speaks English before I commit to buy. My MP Prime last one is still MISB and if I get MP-10 then I'll be selling him to cover the cost as it would be pointless to have two Masterpieces of the same character, not to mention, a waste of cash and space.

Isn't there a picture of Spike riding in the cab?

I need to correct myself - Spike will need to ride in MP-01.
