right because you never intend to combine them if you do own them and because kibble has been total taboo from Transformers for 30 years. what are you even expecting?

While a little harshly worded, I totally agree.

*Sigh* I think the individual figures look, honestly, really crappy. The Combined form is great, no arguing that, but honestly, I don't get a sense of awe when looking at it, the arms look a bit to small and the head is, while perfectly G1, very simple. I'm not trying to aggravate the Devastator fanboys out here, but I'd take any of the 3'd Party figures over this guy. At least they all have elbows, even the legends scale one.

and i plan on continuing to support Hasbro/Takara to show my gratitude that after 30 years, we still get G1 characters modernized. spend your $600 on $120 worth of plastic. ill continue to support the people that made my childhood great while you spit in their face saying you'd rather buy 3rd party figures.

He's got a fair point of the individual figures being somewhat lacking. I'm sure lots of collectors display combiners individually; I do, Sometimes I just dismember a combiner and pose my fleet of figures.
So wanting a nice set of individual figures is equally important to some, as a cohesive combined mode is to others. I will not buy this set so long as it is tremendously underpainted, and/or lacks individual elbows. I won't go 3P, I'll just miss out; but I have my rules and Devestator breaks them.

Considering Hasbro has very intelligently not shut down 3P groups who are clearly infringing on their IP I don't see how anyone is spitting in anyone's face. Hasbro has clearly been watching the 3P stuff to guage what fans want but what most can't afford and have been carefully constructing well engineered official competition for 3P buyer's attention.

Yeah, well, I'm sorry, but this guy is a bad seed compared to the fantastic things Hasbro is putting out in Combiner Wars. I'd rather know I was putting the money into something that had way more thought put into it and actually is articulated fully. I am not trying to be rude, but until fairly recently, Combiners were something I dreaded, mostly because Hasbro had failed in the past with the Energon line Combiners and the FOC Bruticus. But when we got to see Combiner Wars, I had such high hopes for Devastator. But, I think they rushed it. Scrapper's arms are a perfect example, would it have killed them to install a locking mechanism or a heavy ratchet to keep them stiff in "heel" form? The same with Long Haul's tiny arms, I get they have to keep out of the way in combined form, but surely they could have them flip around to the back of the big guy or fill out the torso more.

I like Back kibble.
I like that when they are in individual robots, I can still tell who is who. The alt mode parts are part of their visual appeal to me and if they had found some clever way to completely hide what vehicle had turned into what robot... I wouldn't be interested in transformers in general. I LIKE that when you look at prime he looks like a Semi-truck that stood up. Prowl without his wing doors?!? I just can't accept a prowl without Wing Doors. (In fact sold off the alternator ones because the doors weren't in the right place... GOTTA be able to read 'police' when he's looking at you.)
SOME figures take it to unhealthy levels and look stupid. These ones don't come close to that line for me. Everything's there... but it's tucked up nicely.
Mixmaster is questionable... I'm not a fan of him tripoding in that picture there... hopefully balance won't really be an issue and was just a poor display.

Devastator is not looking good. And given the only good options for him are over £300...I might just collect as many non-combining Constructicons as I can instead.

That was what I aimed that comment at, sorry, I think the back kibble on most of these guys looks damn good, but Mixmaster is missing that barrel in the back look that he had in original.

Absolutely agree! I love kibble, when it's on purpose and correctly placed, not like this:

Transformers (2007) Payload Gallery
I know, I know, it's gimmick kibble, but C'MON!

It looks to me like 4 out of the 6 do have elbows. Regrettably two appear to not. And now I'm getting questionable on him.

I have a friend gong to SDCC, so if he could bring me one, I might bite, but I'll probably buy my very first 3P product when someone inevitably releases better arms for them, I can forgive Scrapper, he reaaaaally needs to hold a very heavy load, but why Long Haul? And Mixmaster and Hook are really pushing it, I wish all had articulation on par with Bonecrusher and Scavenger, those two do look fantastic.

Indeed, however, for me, every poseable mode (vehicle = hotspot, robot, beast mode, combined mode) needs to have AT LEAST basic articulation, otherwise, why bother if all they can do is some G1 style brick poses?
Also there's nothing to say, other than budget, that they could have given Scrapper elbows and bicep swivels, and simply spin them 180 degrees, maybe even have a large strut fold across the foot from the shovel, or something for the hands to peg into.

Well. You sure get butthurt fast that someone doesn't like a toy robot that you like. Thanks for the laughs.

I really doubt it was their intention to screw over the articulation of the individual figs. Sacrifices would have to be made
I know, but it just does not make sense that Hasbro, who has been on a goldmine lately with toy design, would make such a huge sacrifice for a figure.

Half of the Hasbro people that made your childhood great are either retired or 6 feet underground. I doubt the original artist who drew Devastator 30 years ago is getting a penny for this new figure. And if I win the Powerball tomorrow and buy Devy-sized stock in the Transformers brand, you’ll be supporting me, lol. So please stop patronizing us about how buying "official" is supporting the creators of G1 because it's not. It's supporting the people who inherited G1 from its creators. The Paris Hiltons and Kim Kardashians of the Hasbro empire. Don’t get me wrong, when Hasbro makes cool figures, I buy them. And I buy a lot. But CW Devastator just isn’t cool to me. It's out of scale, overly simplified, and Mixmaster flat out sucks with his toilet truck mode and Waspinator bug butt. I own both Hercules and Giant which are by far better figures and I don’t need this thing.
