Kind of has a Linkin Park feel to it... at least it's a spin on the classic theme, and not some thing COMPLETELY new.

meh; I had hoped it'd have an orchestrated score and not a lump of crappy bands with maybe one or two good songs on the whole album.

Absolutely horrible. This new theme sounds like Linkin Park covering Cybertron's intro. I expected a crappy soundtrack, maybe the score will be worth listening to.

Linkin Park: the attempted "metal" Backstreet Boys. Do people still listen to these guys? Like the rest of the track listing... what a ton of crap: whiny emo, some has-been thug rock/nu metal, and some has-been 90s artists. Pretty much everyone on there is making their last grasp before they get booted off the airwaves. I'm not surprised, though, since the "Armageddon" soundtrack was pretty much the same thing. At least we don't have a whiny geriatric Aerosmith ballad this time.

Now that I've listened to the "theme" I have to disagree with Trailbreaker...
I've not heard worse and I don't think it possibly could be.
That was terrible. Terrible, in fact, doesn't even describe it.

I'd say, the only time we MIGHT hear this "theme" is during the end credits. Once and done.
It's not bad...not the greatest, but not bad. Like many, I was hoping for more of an "orchestral" take on it, but this will do. Could've been a lot better, could've been a LOT worse.
The score soundtrack, I feel, will be awesome, though.

That new theme song is just...crap. I'm sorry, personal opinion, but It's 21 years later and Lion's original theme song just destroys this version anyday.
On a side note though, what I have heard of the orchestrated score rocks.

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those "Songs from and Inspired by" sountracks to be later followed with the orchestral soundtrack release later. It's not a bad take...not the best, but not bad. Definitely a "meh".

That was loving terrible. Okay, we're talking about a remake of the theme song to a kids show fromt he Eighties and, even in that context, it was an embarrassment to listen to. I don't know who this Mutemath is, but I now officially hate them. They sound like a very cheap knock-off of Linkin Park. They should have gotten some actual musicians to compose the new theme, not the poor imitation of a passing fad band.
EDIT: Wow, I didn't read anyone else's take before including my own...

No we have the Goo Goo Dolls for that.
It was funny because I was considering asking if Mutemath, Linkin Park, or their entire genre of music will be remembered 20 years from now? No? Fad! Kids today are listening to Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and Rush more than most of the new bands out there. That has got to tell the industry
something. Unfortunately, the industry generally doesn't answer to reason.

maybe i was just under the impression that this movie was supposed to be a new take, not a rehash. now with the g1 movie toy repaints, and this "tune" (as the kids would call it), i'm wondering exactly what the strategy is with this thing.
i'm not dissapointed to utter desolation, but christ, if you're going to reinvent something, don't shit a pink turd on my plate and expect me to be happy about it.

Its not too bad, i like the music itself, but the vocals kinda ruin it.
So the guitar, and the synthesized parts I'm good with, but seriously... the singing parts and the lyrics themselves are just flat out bad.
oh and at the very begining, im talking about the first few seconds (like 4 or 5 seconds) , it reminded me of the objection theme from the original phoenix wright, but techno.

Mariah Carey got dropped from her label for poor performance after selling more in the late Nineties, and that was
Mariah Carey. Her
thing was flash-in-the-pan pop.
Someone in the SA forums said it best: "Somehow even Justin loving Timberlake is a creatively and artistically respected musician today, but Linkin Park is still Linkin Park."

I dont know about the rest of the tunes, but since this soundtrack is being put out in part by Warner Bros. records, im 90% sure the Disturbed is right, since their working on a new album, which will also be the only reason(as of now) that i'll get this cd.

The theme made me throw up a little. It's so freakin' awful. I hope it's not what they use in the movie. I just hope they put all the pop, metal and emo songs at the end credits so I don't have to hear them during the movie.

Hmm it's alright. They just choose the wrong bands in some cases. A song that would fit the movie perfect id "Bombshell" by Powerman 5000. I could see that playing when Blackout destroys that military base. However Linkin Park "What I've Done" is one of the most downloaded songs right now. My friend likes Disturbed and they are pretty good but not my favorite.

The teme blows balls. Plain and Simple. Linkin Park would be a great bandifit wasn't for the wussie who raps and Mutemath is a lousy version of linkin park with an even worse wussie rapper.
Contrast this theme with the one from Transformers: Cybertron, which had a painful rap, but in the end the song was energetic and built to something, this song goes nowhere and ends just as abrubtly as it began.
yep, this theme blows balls and I really hope to hear the g1 theme worked into the orchestral score at some poit. not overworked, just lightly touched on, thats when the music will really make me smile.

typical modern day shite - i could live with the music and "the transformers more than meets the eye" bits. The lyric are abysmal though. I think heavy metal with orchestration best suits the transformers - something in the vein of led zep. Maybe i'm turning into an old fogie but i can't stand all the rap and shouty metal rap stuff. 0 talent needed for that.
They could've even done a progressive dance instrumentation number and it would've turned out better. Take the three Mission Impossible movie themes. The 1st had 0.5 of u2 rework the iconic theme tune in drum and bass the other 2 can fred knockwurst and kanye west. rapping and sampling... which of the three would you rather listen to?

Yeah, It sounds like Cybertron there, but something is better than nothing. There's one big problem I have with this new theme, it's missing this line: "Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons!" It's part of the friggin theme, so it should be included, morons!

Yeah I was concerned that this would be a pop or *shudder* hip hop soundtrack, glad to see it's at least partly metal. Linkin Park is really just a sad attempt at ripping off korn, who themselves are a sad attempt at ripping off faith no more.

Terrible, just God awful, bad, sucks, and every other negative adjective out there! I gave the theme a "C-" in another thread last night, but after listening to it again today and reading this "track list", I just want to vomit! There's nothing saving this album. I'd like a score CD and to hear the song Stan Bush submitted, even if it didn't make the cut. For now, I can honestly say that I get to save some money for once!
