According to the Google money converter. 429 RM is going to be $141.32 USD. Which sucks because they are both priced the same.

I meant MP. Stupid typo.
If Hasbro brings over the MP with a decent paint job and maybe an exclusive accessory or two, I might snag him.

I have to say, I'm the same way. As much as I will always love G1 and appreciate them, they really don't hold a candle anymore to some of the classics designs. Haxatron looks unbelievable. Literally, unbelievable. I won't believe he exists until I'm holding him in my hands.

I guess props for doing something obscure for the hardcore collectors, however, most of them probably already bought the iGear version.

It Is Him wrote:How much is Sixshot in USD? Sounds expensive.
Looks like they're only giving the price in Malaysia (which converts to about $140), so I think we have to wait until sites like BBTS start listing it. My guess is that it's going to be about the same price as the recent Encore Devastator (about $120).

Really? I think I understand it completely. Look at it this way: If Tak/Has wanted to do another MP, they could do Ramjet, but would require remolding the wings, and head. OR, for less money but the same profit, they could just repaint Starscream for the 8th time and sell that.
Don't get me wrong, I would do the same thing, and I have no qualms about it, but its also why I appreciate the 3rd party items, seems they're able to produce the characters we want on a much smaller scale.

All we need are Sunstorm and the yellow and blue Rainmakers to complete the Seeker collection. Come on, Hasbro! Just three more redecos!

Don't really like Sixshot, but he is quite popular character and at least they keep Encore toys coming. So, not a bad choice in general, but I'll pass him too.

I understand that it's an easy, straight repaint. What I don't understand is why they're bothering. Ghost Starscream appeared not to be such a hot seller. I suspect this will probably fail to even do that well as many that would actually have interest in a(n) MP Sunstorm already bought iGear's. Sunstorm being an obscure character + MPs carrying a high price tag + a large number that want one already have it = a recipe for poor sales.

I wouldn't hold my breath. If they haven't even released a Masterpiece Thundercracker in the US, what chance does a Sunstorm possibly have?!

It makes perfect sense to do Sunstorm. Skywarp and Thundercracker are surely going to be more popular (overall) than a Masterpiece Sunstorm is (due to being more iconic, etc). They're also essential to finish the "Seeker Trio" as it were, while Sunstorm is just an extra character.
So do Sunstorm first, get the sales for that for people who will buy him just because and then release Thundercracker and Skywarp later (because most people will want both of them if they have Starscream or one or the other and less likely to skip one of them than they would a Sunstorm). While a Sunstorm after fact wouldn't likely be as popular (having had a few releases of the new tooling by then) people might just skip him.
Plus I'm sure Sunstorm is being done in an effort to kill any future sales of iGear's version.

Sunstorm - Might be interesting...has anyone actually gotten an MP-11 Starscream in hand yet..? I know that supposedly the difference between MP-11 and MP-03 are minimal, but its entirely possible that MP-11 could be a better figure that MP-03 through minor fixes & such. Thus this could make the MP-11 mold worthwhile to some people.

It makes perfect sense for iGear to do Sunstorm where selling 2000 of them is considered a success. How many does Takara need to sell for it to be worth their while? Then again, since Takara actually sells theirs for more than iGear, maybe selling 2000 is worth their while, too...yeah, probably not.
But I still maintain if Sunstorm isn't worth their while enough to do as a Henkei or United fig, WTF are they doing releasing it as an MP? Looks to me like they're just trying to 'stick' it to iGear...which is idiotic in its own right considering iGear already beat them to the punch and charge about $50 less...assuming Takara doesn't charge even more for Sunstorm than Starscream.

He's a combination of an early animation error and the terrible Dreamwave comics...which puts him somewhere below Drift on my scale of what counts as a real character. They might as well release Bumblejumper.GuyIncognito wrote:Diem wrote:Ugh, another Masterpiece repaint and it's not even a real character. Boo!

MP Sunstorm eh. I guess it makes more sense to put out an MP that they haven't done before, even if it is just a lame repaint. Looks cool I guess. Wake me up when they do Thundercracker 2.0.

It could be very likely that this is an e-Hobby exclusive in Japan (only preorders we've seen so far are for Malaysia) or even just an Asia only exclusive (no release for Japan). So who knows how many they're making or they may produce only as many as there are orders for said item.

Well having several official figures and appearing in the comics does make him more official than a lot of other guys. Heck by that standard alone he's more official than a lot of the figures originally released in G1 who appeared less in fiction or got less toys.
Also he wasn't an animation error. It wasn't like he was supposed to be Starscream, Skywarp, or Thundercracker. The first 3 episodes were full of generics, with many of them meant to look like Seekers other than the main 3.

I may also be completely ignorant of some connection here too, which would come as no surprise. Regardless, the one I'm most interested in is SixShot anyways. Missed out on him as a kid and the e-bay prices are obscene. Encore is doable so I'm happy to see he's being released.

If he was on their payroll we would long since have been getting much cooler toys from them than what we get.

Toywizard decided to use a picture of a custom (?), I can't see it at work, to illustrate what the figure will look something like.
The real thing will use the updated MP-11 mold rather than the MP-3 one. So no they are not ripping off a customizer's creation.
