Dairycon, Cybcon, Dutchbotcon, and Gamers Reunion have teamed up to bring you an exclusive item for 2009. The year 2009 marks a very special occasion for fans of their fav toyline, and it is in this spirit that the original team (along with some new blood) comes together again. The identity of this item remains a secret... for now

An image of a blacked out figure has been posted on a conjoined site for the four events.

These conventions are happy to be for fans, by fans

More information on this new turn of events can be seen here.
UPDATE: Seibertron.com member Trikeboy has just gave us a clue as to who this exclusive figure may be:

It appears to be the mold of Battle Unicron (or Magna Stampede) of the Beast Machines line. More information on this exclusive will be posted as it becomes available.

As to the toy, I don't know who it is. I hope its Battle Unicorn. I think that would be cool. I have a little herd of them and its fits a bit with Gamer's Reunion. But judging from the shadow I think its Cybertron rhino. Feet and legs. But I could seriously be wrong. I don't know what hte toy is. That info is not released to us.

80sgeek wrote:So how much better has the Dairycon become since that first one? I was at the first one and helped get it set up even in the crappy weather. Not to be a downer, but only one guy had real figures (in box and imports, not just pieces like at rummage sales) and wanted to show the Japanese series' he brought. The few people there were more interested in watching the '86 movie and the winner of the kitbash thing was an Optimal-toilet. That kinda killed it for me, well that and my best friend (mentioned earlier) who had the only REAL amine store in the state, helped start the whole thing never got ANY credit. So I guess I'm a bit biased, just start with the hate-posts.
That's to bad. I've gone the past 4 years and have had a great time each year. Last year, we had so many dealers, we had to reserve a second room.
It would be worth another look to come again if you get a chance.

This coming year there is Friday night added with dealer set up and gaming night. I'm hosting gaming. I am very excited to help in any way I can.
Also the con toys are really cool. The packaging looks professional. Nice job done on the toys themselves even thru I didn't open mine.

That is so shocking to hear. I'm on the Gamer's Reunion team and have been talking back and forth with DairyCon about making this happen.
I do not know who or anything that has been speaking with your con at all but if you want some help clearing up the matter, I will do what I can. Note me (new to this forum so I don't know if there is a way to discuss here privately) or tell me and I'll give you my email.
I have notified DairyCon about this.

While I apologise for the great offence this obviously generates I am however going to be a bastard and organise something for the Dutch fans once again.
I am sorry if this offends you in any way and hope you will be able to cope with this.
@Raymond:
While I commend you on your convention and the things you have accomplished you should be fully aware that there are no ties between these organisations at all. While I was happy to set you guys up with a contact list for dealers and such for your first convention this does not mean I am in any way tied, beholden or otherwise linked to your initiative. The attempt to appropriate the golden Overlord in 2007 was as such also not appreciated. I merely wish all conventions and initiatives the best and am happy to see smaller and larger niche conventions thriving on a global level.
Your posts, questions and ruckus are thus unwanted, uncalled for and not particularly professional.

Let's get a few things straight first. The initiative for the Golden Overlord was not mine, and in fact I was against it. Including plans to have an alternate golden award instead of the Golden Overlord, and in the past two years there hasn't been one. Although I have been part of this team from the beginning, I've only taken over as lead organiser AFTER B.O.T.S. of earlier this year. I have also been actively against doing a Trypticon race at our event despite repeated requests from people. All because that was your thing and did not/do not want to tread over your shoes and have not tried to in respect for what you have done over the years.Argus wrote:While I commend you on your convention and the things you have accomplished you should be fully aware that there are no ties between these organisations at all. Yes, I have been contacting people in regards to this, because I wanted to get to the bottom of this. People were asking questions of us, and we didn't have the answers to reply to them. The misconception that some people might have had that your event was in any way linked with our event, could have caused a strain on the relation between us and Hasbro NL, since we have made certain agreements with them. As such we needed to know what was going on, as we had no knowledge of this at all, to be able to explain ourselves to them. But more importantly, for all we knew, someone was trying to better themselves on the work which you have laid the foundation on, for all those many years. Because your last event was in 2006 with no word since, people assumed you were no longer active (as the dutch convention like you were advertised in the article), so they came looking for answers with us.
I have however kept my contacts in private. The only public response I made in the last few days was right here in this thread. Which was just one sentence. I have been in contact with you this week, and I am disappointed that you chose to respond in this manner in public, when you could have told me in private. I thought I had made my reasoning for contacting people clear with you in private.
If you have any need to contact me again, I think by now you should now how to reach me. I can also be reached at raymond-t@tf-conversions.com I have considered you a friend in the past, I would hope that we could continue being friends in the future.

Aside from telling people that 'we' are not 'you', you should require no further info. 'You' are as much not 'us' as 'you' are not one of the myriad of smaller cons and meetings in the Netherlands (and the world over).
P.S. So far you are well on your way to making sure the exclusive will not happen at all.

Just as you are well on your way to making sure our whole event might not happen, if Hasbro would think that we had anything to do with this.Argus wrote:You might or might not be aware of the ruckus you are causing. Your 'panicked and outraged' post here has caused quite some trouble so far. As spokesperson for BOTS you should be well aware of what your comments on the net can cause even if you, perhaps, did not intend for the message to be read as such.

I think it's a great idea that various conventions are getting together to create an exclusive. Something unique to offer to the fans.
In any case, I always had a lot of fun attending the various DBCTF conventions, and for me they sure served as an inspiration for getting Transformations together a couple of years back. Which was only done because DBCTF/Argus wanted to skip a year (if I remember correctly... again, correct me if I'm wrong). We didn't try to replace DBCTF or anything, we simply wanted to keep the annual convention thing going for the fans. And if two such events are now taking place in one year, that's great in my book!
The Netherlands is a small country, with a small core group of Transformers fans that have been hanging out for years. Let's all be friends, right?

I can not point out often enough how happy I am to see such a large number of meetings and smaller conventions happen around the Netherlands these days. It is something everyone who has been involved in the history of Dutch 'happenings' can be proud of.
I am however afraid I am forced to formulate a public reply to an email Raymond has sent out to close friends of mine that basicly makes me out as a liar, claims direct lineage to dbctf and tries to weasel our little present away and claim it for his own convention.
As I do not want to harm the fans by posting spoilers and harm your convention. I will thus edit out your new convention name, your plans for next year and your contact details.
Please let it be clear that this makes me very sad indeed and brings home why I stepped out for 2 years in the first place.

Argus,
I have no clue as to who you are or your relationship with anyone on this site, but what I do know is you are breaking a series of rules we have in place here at Seibertron.com regarding baiting a member and flat out disrespect. (Refer to the rules here.)
Stick to the facts the thread is based on and check your PM's.
