That packaging is severely disappointing for the price we're paying for it. Still can't wait to get a proper Classics sized Soundwave to replace the TRU Classics Soundwave reissue.

Bigger then the seekers.. just what the classics version should be, just dont like the tape deck emulation... no casseticons will ever come out of his chest, that sucks
Hope they do a real classics figure, wasn't one planed and delayed? maybe there allready is a prototype and all...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is traditionally a difference between the US Soundwave & Japanese Soundwave based off of where a couple of stickers were placed. IIRC, The Japanese one was always seen as a walkman (& even came with fake headphones at one point) & so the red striped stickers that came with him were placed on the batteries/guns to make them look similar to duracell batteries, whereas in the US, since there were no headphones available, they simply moved these stickers to the front of the tapedeck as makeshift speakers. Since this is a Japanese Soundwave, it would make sense why he looks somewhat plain....well, at least in his alt. mode.

bbts, digital-toys, tfsource ... all the typical online vendors for import TFs have it.

what exactly does "music label mp3" mean? does he play MP3s??? why does his feet open on the wrong side of his legs?

Sad, somehow he seems less awesome in these pics. Kinda bland.
Still, I suport this figure and am going to get one in hopes that the idea of adding tech to TFs is something that will continue.
BeatMix BB, just falls short of that idea in to many ways. Mainly in the fact that he doesn't transform.
I do hope that they release a US version with an LCD screen though.

his chest opens up so you can put a SD card in it. Yes he plays MP3s. so you have to buy a 2gig SD card too, they are like $25 at best buy. He doesn't come with one.

Does anybody know exactly what format it uses? I heard mini-SD cards awhile back, but I didn't even know they were making mini-SD cards yet. I always stay out of the new tech loop.

SOUNDWAVE SUPERIOR!!!!
Looks beautiful, but too plain for the price. Guess the technology is too expensive by itself. Yet it would be nice to have more detail and features. I would feel better after spending the $100 plus (shipping to Puerto Rico would be almost $30!!!!) it would cost me to buy this! >_<

Oh wow. This really is a nice piece of electronic ass. Nice, clean look, but I honestly wouldn't spend $90 and s/h for an MP3 player for which I have to buy my own storage media. I'll stick to a player with a large capacity HDD.

I'm still not sure about this one. I've had it on preorder since January at BBTS, but I doubt I'd use it for the mp3 player.

Well. Isn't that nice. Yes. I want it. Alot. I need a music player. And a Soundwave toy.
Keep in mind people, your only paying out your butts for this thing because it's an MP3 player. Not for the toy. The toy is about $20 and the music player is the other $60.
But...I'd still py that much.
Cause it's such an amazing thing takara has baked up here.

I had one pre-ordered with BBTS for a loooong time, but I recently canceled it.
There doesn't seem to be any sort of display to tell what song is playing, there's no menu to sort through the songs (so they are probably sorted alphabetically), there's no random track feature from what I can tell, you have to buy your own batteries for it (and who knows how long they last)... the list just goes on and on.
I like the design, but at the price it's at I could just drop a few dollars more and get an mp3 player that has a ton more features.

If I got one, which right now I don't know if I will or not but I'm leaning for not, I'd probably load it up with TF music & have it sitting on my desk, & every once in a while if somebody came over I'd show it off by letting them listen to it.
.....but other than that, It's just be a shelfwarming dust collector, just like my other toys.....because I have a PSP that I use as my music player.

EXACTLY what I was wondering. No screen or visuals? Somewhat bulky for an Mp3 player, I'll stick to my ipod video.
I like the Prime ipod dock though, I'll definitely have to pick one up if I get the chance.
