You really think so? :< That hurts my feelings. Granted, mine didn't make it in, so some were argue I'm taking it too personally, but I feel a kinship for even the folks whom I may not know.
I keep telling folks costumes this year are gonna rock...but if you don't even like that fiberglassed Ironhide, or TFA Blurr, and don't seem to like movieverse, I guess I can't guarantee you anything. :/
For the rest of you...costumes are gonna rock.... HARD this year. I know there's going to be at least 8 amazing all-out costumes, not to mention however many folks decide to go humanformer. And it looks like it's going to be a great balance of movieverse and G1 too. Totally looking forward to a photoshoot.

I probably take it too literally, but I just think if you're gonna dress up as a robot you need to look like a robot, not a team mascot. Metal, polycarbonate, cast-resin, whatever. Not cloth. It's subjective.
I'm also not a people person. Probably why I prefer the 'Cons.

The ad is a little corny but how do you go about advertising these kinds of things without that element? Going for the sixth year in a row and I'm gonna have a blast with some of the coolest nerds ever.
Why they gotta be "nerds" man ???
No disrespect, but that stereotype needs to be buried. I was there last year and I will attend this year too. Yes, I saw some nerds, but I also saw plenty of normal people. I also saw alot of tough looking people with long hair and tattoos. And I even saw a few hip hop fans like myself. See you there...

Ahh, that's it then. A good chunk of transformers costumers at botcon tend to be female, and most of us don't want metal for tons of reasons (weight [shipping it and carrying/wearing it], comfortability, skills necessary for crafting it, aesthetics [the general concensus on Transcostumers is that TFA aesthetics look best in the fabric over foam method] etc.).
So I can't argue that. The only metal costumes I think I can recall are all movieverse, three bumblebees, an OP and a Megatron, none of which have ever been to a con that I'm aware of, and all crafted and worn by men. Most of them (4 out of the 5) just prowled the streets for a bit. One of the bumbles made mention in an interview about how heavy his was (over 100 pounds), and all the nuts and bolts that poked an stabbed him while he wore it. So to each their own.... :S
