These new images also show all the weapons he'll be bringing with him so you can recreate different scenes with him once he's in your hands.
MPM-10 Starscream is currently scheduled to come out some time in September according to his listing, costing £139.99 (roughly $175.68 US). In Demand Toys have been quicker then other retailers in getting figures into customers hands, as its been the case with Transformers Earthrise Sky Lynx and Scorponok, and Studio Series Overload.

While this toy still has a couple of months before becoming available at retail (he is exclusive to Target in the US), PrimeVsPrime has gotten hold of a copy early and explores it's features and articulation.

I'm pretty glad to not have missed out.
How about you guys? Have you secured Screamers on pre-order?

The 2nd thing though is the shoulders. They are using a pretty weak ratchet, and he has diecast forearms, so his arms are almost unable to hold themselves up empty, let alone with the accessories sadly.
Posted by transformers_va on August 29th, 2020 @ 1:29am CDT
Are you referring to the robot mode? If so, I don't think you've got them up enough, as they sort of soft-lock in behind his head.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:...the wings are a little "floaty"
His forearms are plastic. I think you meant upper arms.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:...he has diecast forearms
On a separate note, I have to say that this is by FAR the best MPM they've released so far! I'm not a huge fan of Bayverse designs, but I have to admit that this guy is really quite impressive.

ZeroWolf wrote:Ah but what was the price difference between what they paid and your amazon.jp order?
Well, for starter, I'm ALLOWED to buy it from Amazon.JP. Can't buy anything from Target.com.
But if I could have bought it from Target, here's what it would have cost me:
150$US plus 30$US of shipping(estimate), plus sureshot custom fees that would be the federal and provincial taxes PLUS 10$CAN on top for "handling fees".
Total: 281$CAN. (214.56$US)
My Amazon.JP order:
The toy plus shipping and custom deposit: grand total of ¥17598, meaning 218.75$CAN or 167.30$US.
So basically, I think I'm paying the same amount than an American buying his locally live in store. And that's importing it from Japan.
It could have been worse... MUCH WORSE if it weren't for Amazon.JP.

And I do have the wings soft locked in like that, but it still feels a little floaty, there are a lot of wings in there, and his sides of chest/shoulders, which is for posing, but is a little too easy to move for my liking.
So last night messing with him, I can say that it's only the left shoulder that is really bad. It can barely hold his arm up at all, and not at all with an accessory. The right arm can hold an accessory up, but it's super close to not making it, and probably won't keep its strength long.
I also discovered something else that really annoys me: how the hell do we have a masterpiece with NO BICEP ROTATION. He doesn't have a waist either, but the biceps, how can you not have any arm rotation like that?
I'm really bummed, I was super excited for Screamer, but there are some things that are letting me down. He's definitely my least favorite con MPM, Megatron clearly and rightfully owns that title, and Barricade is still quite solid. I'd rank Screamer down towards the bottom above Ironhide and Prime, due to those being a nightmare to transform and Ironhide requiring an upgrade kit to hold is upper body together, but below everyone else. Jazz and Megatron continue to have a solid hold on the MPM bests.

Oh he is very nice, I like him. I just wish his bicep swivels and shoulders actually existed. He is close to being so good, but just isn't quite there

Tuned Agent wrote:D-Max, which do you think is better overall, MPM Screamer or HftD leader Screamer?
Yikes, hard decision.
Both transformations are really fun and good to do, and are different enough it's not like it's the same figure.
Jet modes are both really solid. I would hand the RotF leader the slightly better jet mode overall, but it also depends on how you feel about tattoos vs. regular F22 paint work.
Robot modes both have strengths and weaknesses. RotF leader feels more solid, but is backheavy and needs ankle tilts and wrist swivels. MPM is much more detailed and accurate, and is more balanced, but lack of bicep swivels and the loose shoulder kinda negate that.
Overall, I can't really give a recommendation on one or the other. They are both pretty equal to one another in terms of good toys. MPM would win if you are more a stickler for movie accuracy as the 2, but that's about the only way the tie is broken

This is a reminder that we will never get leader class figures like in the times of 2007, ROTF, HFTD and DOTM ever again.

It's cool to know that they are equal. I love the HFTD Leader. Would you say either or is the best Starscream toy ever released (movie or otherwise) ?

I would have to say no, but both are close to being top of both piles. No other Starscream has really come close to them outside the movies for me, but in all cases, I think the SS figure is the better Starscream and best one made

Thanks D-Max. I've only ever heard good things about the HftD leader, so for the MPM to be as good even with a few blemishes is high praise.
-Kanrabat- wrote:I have a soft spot for the OG 2007 voyager mold.
I'm weird that way.
That mold is a good example of why accuracy isn't everything. It sucks accuracy-wise, but once you get past that it's actually pretty fun. I mean, how can you go wrong with miniguns for hands?
Posted by -Kanrabat- on September 3rd, 2020 @ 7:15pm CDT
Ironically the 2007 mold is my #1 Bayverse Starscream. Next is the HFTD leader. And after, the DOTM deluxe and the SS voyager on equal term. The ROTF voyager is an abomination that dosent exist.
As for where the MPM will rank on my personal list? Time will tell.
Lots and LOTS of time.

Yeah, I had similar feelings, I had been waiting for christmas coupons to get him, but 50% off is way better - so much for budgeting money...
...it's a great figure
Posted by -Kanrabat- on September 23rd, 2020 @ 8:04pm CDT
I can expect Target to pull a "50% off" shenanigan sooner or later. But it's mostly the scalpers who will benefit.
The real pain come from the fact that I must wait until MID NOVEMBER to get mine.
It's unfair.
