But as Animated Prowl, he comes up short (literally and figuratively.) He's not a failure, but I can't get over his stockiness and that terrible face. The bike isn't sleek or streamlined and for some reason those handlebars in robot mode really bug me. I get he's supposed to be "G1-ified" but they managed to ruin it much like they did Arcee and Bulkhead. He's adequate at best. For a casual fan he'll do the job of representing the character, but as a fan of the show and that character in particular, I'm disappointed.
The handlebars really bug me too

Still I have a feeling that sooner or later we'll see this mold repurposed as a full-fledged G1 character, such as Override.

Well, I DID was pissed at "voyager" Override. Once in hand, he felt like a deluxe through and through.
Still, thinking about it, I wonder how Override would have been trimmed down to a deluxe?

As for your question about override, I don't think anything could have been done. The voyager price was for the engineering, and if they skimped on that it would have crippled the figure. Or made it a borderline 2-step simpleton.

Sometime I want to write something, then I change my mind, but I forget to delete some words resulting in weirdness.

As for Override, "deluxinging" it would have been sabotage.

On my end, the wait is FAR from over. I'll have to wait until March for my Amazon.ca preorder to unlock.

though I do find some humor in this ones existence. Remember how during animated's run, how many g1 and (and beast wars) were getting re-imagined in the animated style? full reverse!
I still want animated season 4 though

If I had the money to spend on them, I would get 2 of each, 1 for a group shot and 1 for Menasor.

Well, it boils down to a handful of reasons:
This is my last full year of collecting. Right now, SS86 Swoop is the only figure I know I'm getting in 2024. Part of the reason I decided to get two copies of these guys is because of how much I'm passing on from Legacy (and now, Legacy Evolution).
Seeing Wild Rider (both modes) after initially being letdown by Dragstrip was an encouraging boost with my want of this group.
An even bigger boost was Motormaster. After seeing him, and even the then "skeleton" of Menasor, I was all-in.
When he became available for preorder, Target really helped me make the decision when a promotion (a couple old giftcards, and my Redcard) allowed me to snag two copies for roughly $110.
At that time, getting a second copy of Dragstrip was super easy, and it wasn't much more effort to get another Wild Rider.
I made a personal vow about two years ago that I wasn't going to buy any more figures that would end up stored away in a lidded container. Everything gets displayed, and I'll create a custom diorama for every shelf.
Because I don't have a huge collection, I have two vacant shelves, perfect for these 5 figures in their alt modes. It's also worked out that these are lower shelves, which will work for bot modes, but will be an ideal higher angle to view the vehicle modes.
This next reason isn't anything major, but it definitely factored in that I like Decepticons over Autobots.
Then lastly, for me this is a really solid release by Hastak.
The handful of things I wish were different about individual figures and the combined form are basically non-issues in the grand scheme. But I'm stoked to have an incredibly good (imo) Menasor, and a group of characters I really like to have as individual figures.
Which by the way, other than my Sharkticons, will be the only figures I ever have displayed in alt modes. It will be nice to periodically switch them back and forth (since I rarely transform any of my figures).
So a lot of this decision was good fortune and just multiple good things aligning.
I do have a second copy of Dead End and the Menasor upgrade kit coming from TFSource.
All of this together is definitely a highlight of my last full year of being in the game.
But honestly, if I could get Snarl, Swoop, Shrapnel and Bombshell tomorrow, I'd wait for my stack from TFSource to arrive, then call it good and bow out.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to have SS86 Ratchet, Hound, and Brawn (and L.E. Beachcomber).
But do I need them in my collection? Nope.

Drag Strip is the only one who has any consistent presence in stores right now, and that's mainly at Walmart due to the absolute glut of Wave 1 Deluxes they still have.chuckdawg1999 wrote:Stupid question, can people still find the other four Stunticons in stores easily with Breakdown releasing?
I only ever saw a single Wild Rider at Target once, and which I'm convinced was a damaged return since its box was in terrible shape. I never ever saw Dead End or Motormaster in stores.
I did see empty shelf spots at Target that were reserved for Motormaster, but no Motormaster toys on them.

I never did see Motormaster in store.
I know finding my copy of Dead End was a lucky fluke, but I’m betting I’ll see him again at some point in the next two weeks. But like I mentioned above, I went with TFSource just in case.
Both Wild Rider and Dragstrip have been long gone in my area, & I will be shocked if I ever see either one again.
If you’re wanting them, I’d try and get the first 3 online.
The last 2 you should be able to find in a store.

Oddly enough,I swore I wasn't getting the Legacy Stunticons early on. One day during the summer however, my daughter sent me a picture of Motormaster at Target. I figure it was cruel fate, since I've never seen one myself, and it was only FOMO that convinced me to have her pick it up for me.

I was in a similar mindset. I wasn't keen on the whole cartoon accuracy thing, so I was going to pass. But at the same time I've always loathed the CW Motormaster and have used CW Cyclonus with the 4 Stunticon limbs. I did like Legacy Motormaster once he was revealed, and a few months later I walked into a Game Stop in search of a discounted Coronation Starscream. I did find Starscream there, along with a Dragstrip that was also marked down to $12, so I thought What the hell. Next thing I knew I was buying the others online and preordering the last 2.o.supreme wrote:Oddly enough,I swore I wasn't getting the Legacy Stunticons early on. Hopefully Legacy Evolution wave 1 will be in high supply like Legacy wave 1 was, just maybe not so high they clog the pegs for an entire year.

Most people feel the same as you. I have the UW Menasor, and I'm ok with it. Normally I am a huge fan of animation accurate design, but the fact that Legacy Stunticons had no compatibility with other combiners, in fact, it can only be assembled one way (well the leg components can be exchanged, but you get what I mean) was a real hindrance to my interest. I think with the legs being able to be "somewhat" compatible with CW/UW/PotP was an early attempt, but as the designers stated (and fans several have confirmed) the connection isn't stable, and CW Legs look terrible on Legacy Menasor. When it came to the arms, they just said, "forget it, we're doing our own thing".
Ultimately, I figure one Menasor will be my TRUE Menasor, and the other will be my "Autobot Masquerade" Menasor, I just haven't determined which is which yet.

If it helps, I think the one where the Stunticons are being held together by ports and posts would be similar to Windcharger's magnetism

On the other hand, the more wobbly one shares the same molds as those comprised of Optimus Maximus/Convoy Grand Prime, and so could more convincingly be believed to be Autobots in disguise, instead of the genuine Stunticons who know how to form a sturdy, stable Menasor configuration.Sentinel_Primal wrote:o.supreme wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I was in a similar mindset. I joke of course, I'm largely glad I didn't bother with the legacy stunticons, but it does look the better toy to pose (I'm guessing due to its structure it can hold itself better) so it all depends on how you display your collection.

The ones for Wild Rider's rear wheels are alright... I like how aggressive they look, but both the color and size are a bit off. Those will be easy enough to remove if I want.
But I'm very happy with this purchase overall, and would recommend this to anyone who isn't happy seeing the pegs showing through 4 of Dragstrip's wheels.

Same. I have only ever seen Dragstrip, and he is still at all the Walmarts I visit.

He's very posable, his deco is sharp, and I like the Targetmasters as well. His underside kibble is practically nonexistent, which is great, considering he's a deluxe jet.
My only 2 minor complaints are that in mine the Targetmasters were in pieces in the rolled up paper and Zigzag's barrel piece doesn't want to stay on. The joint is tight and every time I fold the barrel up or down it pops off. The other is that he has no landing gear in jet mode, he just kinda sits there.
Here's a few shots. I apologize ahead, I'm not very good at taking quality pix.

Okay Hasbro, please make the next deluxe with extras sold at voyager a literal spoiler pack with a white, red and yellow spoiler. And since it is gang molded with Breakdown's gun, give us 3 of those as well. If you are really smart you can make the deluxe figure ER Sunstreaker to appease those who missed out.

I think since the opened packaging still allows you to see the figure, I can understand if someone wanted to keep anything MISP.
I’m keeping my NF Prime and Soundwave sealed because you can saw the entire figure, which looks fantastic.
But with image-only packaging, imo that’s really tough to justify.
I get it, there’s a toy in there… But not being able to see it?? Pshhh.
I’m still a bit bummed that these last 3 Dinobots won’t have window packages…
I get it, and yet for these 3 Leader Class figures, I wish they would’ve made an exception.

Not only that but these new packaging's cardboard is very, very thin and easy to crease.
Still better than Select MISB collecting though.

I don't think "plastic free" has anything to do with the lack of box sets on Hasbro's side. Rather, this is another one-off for Hasbro's isolated China market.
