I am going to need a taller shelf, just to put Bruticus on!! I was starting to second guess getting these two, but that's all out the window now!!
Can't wait to ship that POL, as it will have Defender in with it!

Bruticus looks a thousand times better. I really cannot wait to use this to create a true CLASSICS Bruticus.

No less awesome a figure though.

HolyMotherOfPrimus this is the best combiner of all time.
Posted by Overcracker on May 11th, 2010 @ 12:28pm CDT
Otherwise there's no way to transform Vortex like that, and still be able to plug him in.
Still the set looks very cool. Fittingly it ends up larger than Superion. And gives the combiner some much needed elbow articulation.
I still need to pay off my car, otherwise, I'd pre-odering him now, sadly I'll have to wait a few weeks.

Funny CP... very Funny.

I like my TF collection to make sense when it comes to scale. That's why classics Grimlock and Starscream had to come off the shelf in favor of their far more realistic Masterpiece couterparts. The crossfire set would be SO nice to have but I just can't live with scout class tanks and hummers looking up to Bumblebee. Sure hope FansProjects continues with original figures like Springer. I congratulate people who are less picky than me on their purchase!

Man, am I glad I jumped on the preorder.
Overcracker wrote:Looks like some extra modifications are needed. The Transformation for Vortex is impossible. Either they added something there for the connection, or we'll have to remove the pin that hinges the panel that covers the actual connector piece in Vortex.
Otherwise there's no way to transform Vortex like that, and still be able to plug him in.
From the looks of it, they've added a whole new shoulder joint that simply pegs on the sides of the helicopter, the pegs where the feet go in alt mode. There should be no modifications required.
Edit: It would appear there is one for each shoulder, and they become the rocket launchers attached to Vortex in both modes. Ingenious!
They've even done a great job upgrading the existing robots to look equally as impressive next to the new guys. Each has not only 1, but 2 or even multiple weapons. This set is truly amazing.

Except I'll be cheating on them with Fansproject.

I like BBTS. Since you're out of the country it will be easier to order from them and if there is a problem with your order, exchanges are no problem with BBTS.

A serious consideration on my part...
But not having bought a second combiner set when it was released, I'm thinking not.

Right there with you, CP... don't have a 2nd set, and usually wouldn't bother picking one up, but...
I keep looking at the pics of the individual bots with those fantastic FansProject's upgrades. Temptation: superior; willpower: inferior.

I bought the ROTF set and I'll use the recommended figures to but together Bruticus, and when the eventual repaints come out, I'll have the left overs and the repaints in bot mode. Odd thing is, I actually have Energon Barricade so he's gonna be the back up team leader, and they'll all be in "individual armed to the teeth mode" and still have the "gonna lay waste and pwn all Autobots" combined mode!

I was really holding out, but now I may have to get these two.

Glad to see that he is still quite a bit taller than Superion.
I've got the ROTF and Energon Bruticus together as Double Bruticus. Wasn't sure I was going to be happy to disassemble him. Now I can't wait! All though 4 arms and tanks for feet still looks pretty BAD A**!
Poor Devestator Maximus is going to look really puny and out of place now next to FP Superion and FP Bruticus.

Saludos.

I couldn't agree with you more, Valandar. Hasbro could be turning out Combiners like this that would put shame to their Power Core Combiners line. Instead, they decided to disappoint yet again with the combiners by creating a Deluxe vehicle with four non-transforming drones. Did they learn nothing from their disappointing Energon Optimus Prime with his four drones from his trailer? Or how disappointed we fans were when ROTF Devastator came out with vehicles that didn't transform into individual robots. We fans had to hold out for the Legends version to get what we wanted. Hasbro needs to get in contact with FansProject so they can get schooled.
BTW, the FansProject Explorer and Munitioner both rock out loud, especially when combined with the other Combaticons to form BRUTICUS. I can't wait to get my pre-orders.
I'm absolutely drooling over this. Just imagine what Fanproject's Protector will look like completed to make "Rodimus Prime." I'm saving up already for that pre-order as well.

You basically need three pieces from either ROTF Bruticus, or Energon Bruticus Maximus:
Onslaught (either the gray ROTF release, or the turquoise Energon release)
One Helicopter
One Tank
