Third party Junkion Blacksmith splashed their way into the Transformers world at the start of the year with the release of their Predaking Sword, and Optimus Prime and Soundwave headmasters. Now their second wave of Headmasters features fan favorites, Ultra Magnus (Earth Command), Blaster (Broadcaster) and Megatron (Destruction Lord). Each character has their own individual mold in this smaller scale. Check out the images below, with pre-orders at sponsors BigBadToyStore and TFsource.

Once again Megs gets a crappy alt mode. Poor guy.

Oh, and whats the point of these again?

Those...are pretty cool, actually. Depending on the final size, "Broadcaster" might make a good head-swap for Universe Blaster (the Cybertron Soundwave repaint).

OH GOD, ULTRA MAGNUS' VEHICLE MODE IS DERP!
Blaster looks cool, as does Megs. UM, I like the head, but the rest is HORRIBLE.

Magnus: Meh. Bad, actually.

Blaster: Fantastic. Pretty awesome, actually.

Megatron: Mixed bag. Robot mode, so-so, tank is awful, just craptastic and head mode...not too bad.

I agree, there is seemingly no point to these, unless you're Frenzy Rumble and can actually find a use for 'em. As it stands, kinda neat on paper, no real use in reality. When they start replacing the original heads with show accurate or updated representations, then I'd be interested.

I might actually go for Magnus, despite the god awful vehicle mode, because I'm rapidly losing confidence in HasTak ever releasing a legends-scale G1 Magnus.

These will connect to any G1 Headmaster

Cute, but pointless IMO

As they're headmasters, they're a wee bit smaller than Legends.

I'd so get that Blaster if it attached to Universe Blaster/Cybertron Soundwave repaint.

Actually, I like the Magnus one a lot. Vehicle mode is kind of cute. I don't need the vehicle mode to kick a lot of ass because I'd think of it as a Headmaster first. The fact that it has any vehicle mode at all is gravy for me.

So they fit any headmaster? but none of these characters were HM so whats the idea behind putting there heads on a random body? it will just look daft.

They should of just made G1 HM and add to headrobots growing collection or would that just be a swift kick in the nuts to HR .

I don't mind them. But yes, I'd rather them make new characters, rather than do the popular G1 characters and make them heads.

There's so many possiblities to make minor characters like the Micromasters into heads or come up with new ones with a matching paint scheme to existing G1 Headmasters so that you can have completely new figures.

But regardless, here's a pic of what I did with one of those previously released heads: Image

Well thats just it your not makeing a new character or an existing one either,
it will be just Skullcrunchers body with blasters head.

You only partially quoted me, I'd rather them make new heads than making the popular G1 characters into heads.

It really doesn't work when you put a "Blaster" head on anyone.

That's why I like the "Cobra" and "Snake" they don't resemble anyone from G1, and can be made to be anyone in your fan fiction.

These are actually fun little bots. But I don't have a thing that my G1 Blaster is the only Blaster or anything. This could be an X-dimension version, or what not.

Magnus version is the least appealing of them.

The Prime head looks good on Hosehead with Chopster as his Axe.

Image

The Blaster head might look good on Chromedome.

Magnus on Nightbeat or Hardhead?

Snake looks great on Squeezeplay.

Image

BTW - These heads don't fit well on Fangry. The legs on his back get in the way.

.....

HAHAHA!!! Did you do that when you got that Optimus head? or did you do it after seeing my pic?

I never thought of taking the axe and having Hose Prime hold it. I rarely take weapons and give it to someone else.

I still need to find a mint accessory-less Squeezeplay to do what you did.

The Ultra Magnus head might look good on Snapdragon's body as Overlord.

They fit in with WST pretty well.

Just for comparison, here is a picture, by height, of a Legend, a Mini-Con, one of these Headmasters, a Micromaster, a WST and a Double Targetmaster.

It's quite obvious that a good deal of folks decided to leave their ability to have any kind of fun at the door when they came in. Why do these have to serve a specific purpose to be cool? Shoot, I've gotten a few Headmaster figures (the body portions not the head) in some of the BBTS Junk lots that I've purchased. I held onto them even though they weren't the main goal of my purchase and nowe, repainting the bodies to coincide with one of these new heads seems to me like it would be kind of a cool idea. A way to "redo" a classic G1 style figure into a customized "new" Headmaster. Sure some of you may not have any need for these figures but that doesn't mean that you need to piss in everyone else s' Cornflakes over it. I think redoing my headless Chromedome in Blasters G1 colors could end up looking pretty sharp if I do the right combination on the right parts.

Some people do custom paint G1 bodies to match these new heads. Just look at the TFcon Toxin head, and this repainted Chromedome body.
