New Images of Maketoys Bomber and Hover

Posted by El Duque Sep 19, 2011 at 7:09am CDT 35,421 views
Some new images of Maketoys' Hover (aka Seaspray) and Bomber (aka Powerglide) have been posted on the Chinese toy forum ACToys. As you can see they share an instruction sheet, which further points to them being a two-pack. According to the original poster these will go on sale in October for about 240 Yuan (approximately 37.50 USD). Images mirrored below.

Igears Seaspray looks better imo and that screw in Powerglides head looks great.

Hmmmm.... Looks like (if they EVER get released) they'll be a 2-pack, if the shared instruction sheet is anything to go by. Powerglide looks okay, Seaspray not so much - might stick in an order for iGears.

I'm getting mightily confused over who is doing what between this Powerglide and the other X-Transbots or whatever they're called this week, along with the notWheelie featured the other day - anybody recommend what ones to wait for, and which ones to go for as soon as the orders go up?

These might as well be the original G1 figures that have been retrofitted with more joints. Not particularly blown-away. If memory serves one G1 episode had Powerglide make use of a laser mounted on his forehead. Maybe that's what the screw in Bomber's head is meant to represent.

I think these might struggle against iGears proposed collection of Minibot based figures as we already have prices, initial release dates and they come with weapons.

Why do all these 3rd parties keep making different versions of the SAME characters... it gets damn confusing. How many Powerglides, Devastators, Bumblebees, Reflectors, etc etc etc do we actually need?

I love Transformers and I love all of the 3rd party companies spending time to make awesome custom figures, but c'mon if you see one company is doing a character you were thinking of doing pick another one! That way you won't have as much competition, and maybe we can finally get some modern molds of some of the more obscure characters.

They look out-of-proportion with themselves. DEFINITE pass.

Yeah, there is plenty of 3rd party fans out there but, in my opinon, slowly but surely 3rd parties are ruining this hobby.

How are they out of proportion? From plain to boat that's pretty scale, and even if not, their mini-bots, so scale's never been an issue...
But to end things on a posative note, PowerGlide has monkey arms, and no elbow swivel to make up for it...so yeah, kitbashers have fun.....

It is a 2-pack set. If you go to their website, it said that.

Since when did Powerglide got so popular? His "heart" made me want to throw up.

Still like the molds but they look less impressive than they did at BotCon. I'm not liking the dark gray..

Hahaha! Those look terrible! Powerglide looks like a midget or something because his head is way to big for his body. And Seasprays is a little too round and pinheadish. Also he should have a bit more of a gut on him. Also the colors are off. All the grey on Powerglide should be white. And Seasprays faceplate should be yellow too. It really just seems like they're trying to take the G1 minibots and articulate them. As if the past 5 years of Classics, Universe, Generations, and other similar lines never happened.

At this point I'm much more interested in what iGear has to offer.

The screw in Powerglide's forehead is a homage to THE SCREW IN POERGLIDE'S FOREHEAD. It was so prominent that it made it onto the cartoon design as a normal feature of his head and they even made it a sculpted and painted detail of the Universe 2.0 Voyager Powerglide.

If they go back to the lighter plastic shown at BotCon, I'm on board. I don't care for the head sculpt on iGear's Seaspray.

Hmm, I dunno. Powerglide's head looks huge compared to his legs especially. I'll wait and see about these guys.
