I can be wrong, but since arms are smaller than legs i`m guessing that Scavenger and of course Bonecrusher will be Deluxes.Optimutt wrote:I'm not too impressed with that pre-production paint application, but the toys, themselves look quite nice. Any way we can get a size comparison on those? Are they voyager-sized or deluxe?

They're Voyager class sized at the least.

They are likely going to be released separately. But the way third party toys are being sold, and the fact that each combiner is going to be flipping huge, the entire Devastator will be over $500+

I'm in the same boat.
This is "Transformers Collector's Club", right? (tranformersclub.com?)
Do I need to be a member to purchase these?
Someone let me know! I must have this!

Probably only going to be able to afford 1 set though.

No, transformersclub.com is the official fan club by Funpublications. These are by a third party known as TFClub. These released the Battle Rollar and the Gear of War sets. This is by far their most ambitious outing. Hopefully it will be available through the regular online retailers, BBTS, TFsource, etc.

TFClub is not the Transformers Collector's Club. It's a third party group like Fans Project or Crazy Dev. I'm trying to remember, I think they did a Cliffjumper upgrade including a new head and a bazooka.
This Devistator project has been going on for a while. I believe they are somewhere beween voyager and deluxe size, depending on how big the guy's hands are (you know the one, with the unusually long finger nails...)

No the Cliffjumper set was Fansproject, but it was distributed through TFClub to help Fansproject to establish themselves.

Yeah, me too. For Voyager-class figures, I expect less kibble. Although, have we ever seen a crane alt-mode where the robot didn't have major kibble?

My concern based on green/purple figures picture, I hope the characters don't each come in a different shade of green and purple. I hope all characters share the same shade of neon green and same shade of dark purple.
Regardless, I think this is going to be a sweet set to have and a must-have for the G1 collector, especially those of us that lived it.

As for size, I'm going with beefy deluxe/Optimus Prime-sized voyager.

wolverinetodd wrote:In a previous post I mentioned that FansProject's Munitioner and Explorer both sold for $50.00+ each and they were Scout Class size, but both came with additional guns and parts. With that in mind, if these "not-Constructicons" are Deluxe Class or even Voyager Class, then each one will most likely be $75.00 to $100.00 each, respectively. So when all is said and done and shipping is calculated in, I'll be surprised if this complete set sells for less than $1000.00.

I wouldn't doubt that price range (pray real hard they're sold individually and spaced out). But we might get lucky. Munitioner and Explorer were scout sized because they had to integrate with the existing set, and a lot of their extras were needed to add the proper look and engineering. In the image I described earlier, Scavenger's arm mode may have been formed entirely from him with only the hand as extra. In terms of plastic, that might even out to larger scale figures with almost no extra parts close to the $50 side of town. (PRAY REAL HARDER)
Also, I fully agree about the colors. I would be happiest if they all used Scavenger's green and Hook's purple.

I fully expect the price tag to be around $100 each (ouch) but I, like many others, also hope they are wise enough to space out the releases.
I would find it much easier to swallow around $100 a month for 6 months than 1 painful month.

Makes me hope that CF3 from Fansproject is indeed Devastator. I'd choose it simply because of their proven track record.

Haha, just like Voltron. I was never able to complete it when I was younger.

I was thinking more along the lines of the company, or whatever they are, putting these out goes bankrupt or something and no one is able to get them all, but missing one for personal reasons would be a potential issue, too. (Unless whoever released Voltron was unable to put all the figs out for some reason...)

There are indeed advantages for both a staggered release and a grouped release. Not sure which I prefer but either way I sure hope TFClub won't expect punters to put down the cash until we've seen the entire set. Ideally I'd like them to get some early completed sets out to Optibotimus, peaugh and Vange1us for them to review to help prove that it'll be worth SUCH an investment. I'm sure those three will agree with me, lol.

judging by the size of their legs and distance apart they look like they can stand on their own
with out aid from the tails unless their tails are too heavy then we have a problem

Or send them here... A certain established third party has been doing it for their past two major releases..

Whatever. So long as there's video. Still photos don't give you the same information as videos. When judging something like this I'd rather see them in action.

I think this is a really good idea. For the most part, I already know what I want and what I dont; I just watch the reviews for the fun of it, to learn things I might not know, and to get someone else's opinion for comparison. But for something like this, in which I'm uncertain and on the fence, seeing reviews from these guys would go a long way to helping me decide whether or not I want these figures.

Yeah, my fear is that their backpacks are going to make them so backheavy as to require the tails. If one, maybe two did that, I think it'd be forgivable - I can overlook one or two of six. But that we've already seen two of them that appear to have tails does not bode well for the rest. We shall see...

The other four will probably be okay since their alt modes don't tend to create "tails". Mixmaster will likely have a pretty big backpack, but not a "tail".

seriously, I think these guys look ok. a few of the others should have pretty chunky feet, so those ones will likely be ok to stand on their own, and as El Duque says, they're primarily going to be Devastator if I can afford to get them anyway.

If TFClub wants to make it easier for the fans to get one of each, then I would place the price around 75-90 bucks a figure. I think that even though it is from a third party, the market for such products is no longer as much as a mystery to us as it used it to be to us. Fansproject, and to a lesser extent, TFclub has set the bar in a firmly in consumer's minds about how much we're willing to pay for products, and what we expect from said product.
The Grand Patriot is sold at 160-180, but you're getting both versions of it, which makes it 80-90 a figure. Warbot was roughly 70-80 bucks when it was released the first time. While Arcee had two toys, a lot people were put off by the one that cost around 140. It seems like Impossible Toys are the only ones bucking market trends, but for the most part, the market has been around long enough to give people a reasonable estimate of what works business-wise.
So yeah, I agree with everybody else thinking the combined lot will sell for 450 to 560 before tax and shipping.

Ooo! What if TFClub sent a different bot to each of them and a few other big names (say, this one) and they'd all have to work together to make the gestalt at botcon. The final reveal would be a big event!
ALSO, I found on TFW2005 this image with their coverage:

On the shelf above happens to be Grindcore without his gun. A deluxe from the TF Cybertron line. I don't own this dude, but I'll say they're going to be a bit larger.

Good eye on spotting Grindcore. He's a deluxe and even though they aren't on the same shelf they seem to be about the same distance from the camera and they look about the same size. So I'm thinking deluxe on Scavenger. They also have several other construction vehicle based figures up there I guess they've been researching.
