No, because then I'd have to spend another $260 getting them all because I wouldn't be able to resist

Don't really want it, but I do feel like by the time they exhaust all of the color variants (and maybe make a few new ones) for each Constructicon we could probably build a second Devastator. We're getting Skipjack at the end of the year, I wonder if we could end up with another year of repaints restarting where the first run started from (if we get a fourth year of SS)?

WE already got that (tiny version) and it was butt ugly. These are different than G1, they need to be allowed to be themselves.
FYI, picked up the Roadbuster (I'm allowed out since I'm an RN) and it is heads and tails better than the original version. It's not even close. Can't wait for the other two Wreckers if that's the quality we are getting...

All of the Toy Fair reveals for Earthrise and Studio Series have had preorders since they were revealed, so not new.

Also wasn't expecting all the soft parts. And I don't mean flimsy soft plastic like some swords are made of, I'm talking soft like a wet paper bag. I don't think we've ever seen plastic like this used before. It's used to make his hose, left hand, that "thumb" on his canon, the canon barrel, his foot spikes, and his entire left arm gun among a few other parts. It's not all bad, it does have a memory to it so it can take a fair amount of bending without warping or showing stress marks. It does warp if left over time like some noticeable slight warping straight out of the box, but you can crumple up his gun in your hand and it'll just spring right back. Not sure why they had to use it on the gun, it isn't exactly sharp. I do like the use in other spots because it gave us some nice pointy parts. Hopefully it doesn't disintegrate over time.

No doubt, I just wonder why they felt they had to put it on that sprue since it isn't particularly pointy.

My only worry so far is that his cannon seems way too big and it might make him lean to that side. How are his shoulder and elbow joints? Can the ratchet support the extra weight from the cannon?
In his case it really isn't so much a gravity problem, but his joints have to fight a bit with the pressure of the hose. It's not a huge hindrance or anything, you just have to be mindful of it. For the most part his joints can hold the canon level just fine. On mine the shoulder is a little loose, but the elbow is tight, which is fine because I don't think it would look natural holding such a big canon out straight from the shoulder.

You shouldn't have to worry about his arm and balance, my shockwave is really solid and has no problems holding any pose regardless of the size of his cannon.
Also, please no G1 styled movie Devastator, they did that once, it was hideous, that color scheme should be for G1 cartoon-esque stuff, not this style

Anyway, if we're talking Devy redecos, how about a Rainbow Devastator? Each member in a different color of the rainbow, with the 2 smallest guys colored the same, since the rainbow has 7 colors. He's almost already there.

Honestly, given how multicolored these Constructicons already are, I don't think a Diaclone homage would be all that different. Just some blue instead of green.

The first thing I worked on was a magazine for Ironhide’s one rifle from the DNA design upgrade kit, which was strangely absent. I took a spare plastic piece that once held the tires to some 1/160 scale APCs and cut it to the right size, sanded it, drilled a hole in the rifle to plug it into, and added a little bit of paint.
I think it turned out pretty well!
I also cut the vehicle mode headlight pieces off Sideswipe’s feet and glued them to the hood section. It does make the feet more movie-accurate, but I’m not sure if I’d recommend it yet. If you do try it I would be really careful.
Next I painted up the robot mode for WWII Bee. I added a bunch of gunmetal over the gray (and some of the green) parts, went over some of the green parts with a slightly different shade of olive drab (probably most visible on the shoulder pads), added gold and silver accents, then added dark gray model wash and silver dry brushing for weathering. I’m usually not into weathering Transformers, but I think it fits for WWII Bee.
And last, I found a small wooden post that was the exact size to replace the missing pin on my SS Soundwave. Thanks for the toothpick idea, Zelda!

Not inaccurate per se, more like not realising the misassembly in the cab.

I mean, it still can, but I just don't want to damage the chrome so it will stay in vehicle mode.

Probably because the Voyager is considered just right for the scaling they've set up.

They aren't doing the multiple size class thing except for what was said already.
I did have a though this weekend though, related to Infernocus: What if they made 2 Infernocons, one voyager named "Infernocon Skulk" like the torso from the first toy, and then a deluxe one named after one of the other limbs from the first toy or even just "Infernocon" just like we got KSI Boss and KSI Sentry. Then, you buy the voyager and 4 of the deluxe to form Infernocus like a Prime War combiner, and give it monster feet with the voyager and the deluxes have hands and weapons that form the hands and arm mounted weapons.
I think that would be super cool, I want a large imposing Infernocus

While I do like the idea, I think it would be really tough logistically to pull off if you have only 1 limb bot that would need to be used 4 times. Even if they went with 1/2 of the deluxe case as limb-bots, that would only support 1 Infernocus. If he is popular, the limbs are scarce, if he isn't popular they are the next heli-dropkick.

I would personally set it up like Reflector: 2 to a case, so you have to find 2 cases to complete the full mode. I think it would help make sure he doesn't shelf warm.
also, I would imagine that each figure would have maybe like a beast or demon mode or something like that, something to make it cool, and also minimum transformation to allow for a larger size. Part of the bad thing for Helicopter Dropkick was that mold just didn't look cool, was small, and just didn't work at all.

"Demon" is a good description for what their robot forms already resemble.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:also, I would imagine that each figure would have maybe like a beast or demon mode or something like that,
Though, to be truly movie-accurate, Skulk and the other four would all have to be altmode-less, going from demon robot mode straight to body part mode.
Or, perhaps, since Infernocus had six components in the movie, two of them would have to form the torso together, allowing for all six to be Deluxes with four forming each limb while the remaining two merge into a Voyager-sized torso.

I've thought about this too. It would be cool to have a simple deluxe mold that can form a torso bit as well as a limb, but it just seemed better to do voyager and deluxe instead of different types of deluxes or try to engineer that.
I also think they would require alt modes if sold at this price point. If sold at a leader price point as the full combiner, he would not need individual alt modes for the smaller bots, but I would prefer him to be bigger
Posted by Sabrblade on April 14th, 2020 @ 3:42pm CDT
Simple solution: Commander class Infernocus sold as a complete set and packaged in Combiner mode to justify being marketed as one piece.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I also think they would require alt modes if sold at this price point.
