Time will tell for sure.

Personally, I'd say that United Voyager Megs tops Henkei Megs in terms of show-accuracy since his color scheme is more subtle and less psychedelic without as much red splotted on his body. After all, the Generation 1 character models specialized in subtle color schemes.Mkall wrote:I've had a Henkei Megs for as long as I've had my neo-Classics collection and if this gets made and is of decent price, size and exceptional quality then I may just replace him for this one.
Time will tell for sure.
But, yeah, this Megatron may put both to shame.

This.
The bot looks great until you get to the shins - and they also make the gun handle just wrong too. Needs work, but still a hell of a lot more convincing than MP05 or the bat-wing classic.
Almost sold - for what I'm sure will be an eye-watering price when it finally appears in 2023.

I also don't like the robot arms. the forearms look way too overly big & blocky. the upper arms on top of the shoulder their needed to back of the gun upper pieces. as it stands the upper arm shoulder have huge hollow gaps in them that look beyond awful & noticeable miles away.
the thing looks un-finshed & a extremly early proto type. the arm canon/scope attachment piece looks un-finished & held on by rubber silicone glue.
i don't like that the sword looks like it's attached to a lolly pop handle.
i need to see this in color. i need to see size comparisions pics. i need to see final proto type pics.
i can't see myself liking this nor buying this. if it stays the same & does get major re-working done on the early proto type.
this thing looks small like deluxe size or barely voyager size. i might buy this if it's 8 inch robot $27 usa ultra sized or dare i dream 9 inch leader sized in robot mode.

I'll probably buy into this.
I hope he is voyager sized.
Posted by s3n3ch on December 3rd, 2011 @ 9:52am CST
though it's hard to get a sense of scale with no other objects in the any of the images
When we click on the picture we see him just beside heavylabor
Look nice!!

Not really a huge fan of the sword but it doesn't take away from the figure. I'll add it to my list of shit I can't afford. ha ha ha

Here's my quick take on him:
I threw this pic above into my photo shop edit program.I added the top shoulder gun parts that 1984 gun/bot megatron has. I also photo shopped the original legs back into the pic.
Personally this toy looks naked without the 1984 gun parts on the robot mode upper shoulder. I don't like the hollow & cut off shoulder tops on this proto type.

Thin out those legs a bit, and I'm sold!

NaM3L3sS wrote:Ok, I wasn't convinced before, but seeing that Hercules fig beside it to give an idea of scale, this looks great!
Since all the TFC Hercules individual robots toys are said to be voyager sized. This proto type megatron next to the hercules individual robot toy looks to be around 8.5 inches tall in robot mode. which would place this toy around animated toy line leader size. or a extremly tall & one of the tallest $27 usa ultra sized toy.
I LOVE BUYING the bigger sized Transformers toys,so I'll most likely try to buy this proto type megatron toy.
I have a track record of always buying leader sized & $27 usa ultra sized new mold transformers toys.

Hopefully we'll get that 3rd party Ultra Magnus toy soon. I think the cab (Optimus) will be in scale with this Megatron.
I'm very happy!!!!

Posted by Prime Evil on December 3rd, 2011 @ 2:54pm CST
Look 3rd party guys. I hope you know that the market isn't as financially sound as you think. With more and more 3rd party companies coming out with, IMO, kinda high price points, you are making Hasbro products more enticing. No matter how awesome the figures are, I know I'm set with FansProject, Perfect Effect, and Head Robots. They are keeping their item cost in reason. With everyone hitting the $100+ mark for toys, it's just not worth it. No matter how bad ass this Megatron may be, I know I have my money allotted to certain figures and companies. I have my Classics Megatron. Do I want a better representation? Yes I do. Will I shell out massive money at this juncter for a new one when Clssics Meg and even WFC Megs are very good figures? No. I can do without those 3rd party figures because I've already payed out less for official versions.

The ideal candidate for any neo-G1 collection. He won't be going anywhere near my Classics collection. (It's for his own safety. Classics, Henkei and United Megatrons might not be so welcoming.)

these are my guesses below i state nothing as fact.
The TFC Hercules individual robot toys are small to medium sized voyagers, their not tall voyagers. most of them are small sized voyagers robot modes.
voyagers range in robot height from 6 inches to 7 & 1/4 inches tall in robot mode from head to toe.
short voyagers are 6 inches tall. medium voyagers are 6 & 1/4 inches tall to 6 & 6 1/2 inches tall.
since this megatron proto type is shoulders & heads bigger than the hercules robot. i'd safely say the megatron proto type is 1 & 1/2 to 2 inches taller in robot mode. which makes this megatron proto type a 8.5 inches tall in robot mode from head to toe.

With the recent surge in oversized Neo-G1 figures, does anybody think the 3rd parties are trying to eliminate Hasbro from the collectors market by using size/scale as a weapon ? If you were to buy all these oversized 3rd party figures, you might be tempted to get rid of your Hasbro stuff and start collecting the new larger scale figures that Hasbro would not invest in making. This gives the collectors market to the 3rd parties. Game over Hasbro.
This new Megatron
TFC Hercules set
I-Gear Ironhide/Ratchet Weapons Specialist/Medic
Masterminds Sixshot
X-Transbots Galvatron
X-Transbots Powerglide/Wheelie (scouts become deluxe class)
Probally more coming...

Rated X wrote:In my first post I was really happy. But after seeing the size comparison with Long Haul, I am dissappointed. This is like another I-Gear Ironhide/Ratchet or Mastermind Sixshot. It looks great standing alone but looks stupid in any classics collection because of it's exaggerated size.

I'm not worried at all about that. Hasbro will win through sheer volume of figures they produce forcing collectors to either set up a 3rd party scale shelf or not buy the 3rd party figs at that scale because they don't fall in line with hasbro's scale.

I'm fine with him being bigger than Classics Prime. He's usually depicted as standing taller than many of his army anyways.
TFC Hercules set
I'm getting mine as a standalone piece, and Maketoys as the in-scale version. That's just me though.
I-Gear Ironhide/Ratchet Weapons Specialist/Medic
They're nice figures, but in my previous statements, I'm not getting them simply because they aren't in scale with anything I own.
Masterminds Sixshot
I'm not too tossed about his size. I think he's always been depicted as a big guy
X-Transbots Galvatron
I don't think I'll be getting him because he didn't look appealing, but I've yet to see the final image and scale shots, so who knows?
X-Transbots Powerglide/Wheelie (scouts become deluxe class)
Not what I'm looking for asthetc-wise for my classics shelf. HasTak's igures do just fine
Probally more coming...
I have no doubt about that...

Wouldn't all this pics of Heavy Labor next to Prime & Megatron kinda give you an idea of scale? I'm obviously not tryin to bash what you said or anything, I'm just saying that's what I would do based on old pics or youtube reviews of Heavy Labor.
Either way, I would like to see whoever's doing this megs to make a new Armada & Energon in scale with this Megs. Seeing that pic of E-Megs holding the Starsaber really makes me want an updated E-Megs and makes me remember how they dropped the ball with Armada.
I'm very interested in who's doing this Megs...

For Galvatron, I'm gonna go with Rain's IDW version.
