Not really, because depending on how many lines megs has in the movie they could all be voice in a day or two and then edited with sound effects and loop it into the movie, that could be done in the month prior to it being released.

Is there a "Make Welker Megatron" website set up yet?

I agree!!! DAVID KAYE baby! And I'm one of the G1 purists at 33 years old!

Either way, I am confident Welker could do an awesome job...so could David Kaye, I'm still hoping for either one of them to do Megatron. Considering Peter Cullen is Optimus, it would just make sense to go ahead and give it to Welker. Though when one considers using David Kaye would please Beast Wars fans as Cullen would please G1 fans.

as for movie megs, Welker could voice him but he'd be better using the Dr. Claw/Krulos voice. Even if he doesn't get Megatron, he could always play Soundwave in a sequel. That's a voice that can translate well from 2d to 3d.
I have stared at movie prime images whuile playing G1 episodes and it fits perfectly. G1 Megs voice however, does not fit such a crappy design.

Bring up an image of movie Megatron, then play any of the old TF cartoons where Megatron speaks. Stare at movie Megs while cartoon Megs speaks and let me know if you think it sounds anywhere near correct. This Megs is too different from our Megs. It is more like an evil bug with than a robot. The voice should be done by the guy who did the voices of the Gremlins. (Unless Welker did some of those voices, then please let it be Welker). However, if they were going to choose him, they would hav edone so by now, don't you think? Welker has said he is still in the running, last I heard, not selected. I don't think we'll get him.
That has bugged me for a while. Welker can't do Movie "Megatron"'s voice unless he changes his voice, defeating the purpose of pushing for him. From Seib's review, Cullen has deepened his voice for the part. He may not sound like Optimus because of this, defeating the purpose of getting him hired.
From the script, "Megatron" grunts, roars, and speaks in computer dial-up. He may not need a voice actor. The other "Decepticons" do this too, including "Starscream" and excluding Barricade, making the Decepticons we once knew into hollow cardboard alien monsters.
So, in truth, if I'm right, we will have gotten nothing we wanted in the right way. That gives the fans 0% input and 100% ignorance from the production team.

And remind me again why fans should even have any input.

Yeah, that leaked script was far from final. Hell, if you read that script and compare it with Ryan's preview, it is very obvious.

Except he still sounds like Prime. Or rather Prime still sounds like Cullen because he's always used a deeper version of his own voice for Prime. You really are grasping at straws ain't ya?

What's not funny is people going off-topic to start the same over-simplified arguments over again for the 1,000th time. Where in this thread has anyone complained about them looking like 'aliens and robotic monsters'?
