As well as giving each character their own focus, Takara have gone the extra step and done group shots, meaning Thrust is reunited with Ramjet and Dirge while Runabout partners up with Runamuck! Check out all the images below!
Thrust

Runabout

Thrust and Runabout are exclusive to Target stores in the United States, and are due to arrive soon. Thrust is a redeco/retool of the other coneheads (that saw release as an Amazon Exclusive set). Runabout is a straight up redeco of Runamuck (released as part of Earthrise Deluxe Wave 3) respectively.

lol, as far as I can tell using brickseek, no target in the country has received thrust yet, so more like arriving never

That may actually be good news overall on Thrust, as it likely means he is delayed overall as compared to Runabout. Hopefully it also means he will be available again online for those who missed out, or are nervous that Target may cancel their pre-orders.

I found out my area targets have 3-8 Runabouts in stock, but I've been in them and haven't seen them - so, they're in the back. I'll be picking up a Runabout today.
IS THERE A STREET DATE???

I thought today was the date for both Runabout and Thrust.sol magnus wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:sol magnus wrote:I'd like to if all the scalpers/Target employees put em out.

Just checking. Don't want to get arrested in Target over an action figure.

It is, just because a street date breaks, doesn't mean the store has the time to clear space for the product on the floor

Nice, ER Ratchet/Ironhide can use their shield backpack as a sled. Lifeline is embarrassed as it looks better than hers.

I read somewhere (maybe Target.com??) he's not out until 12/30. I mioght be wrong. But my Target didn't have any Thrusts according to popfindr.
I did indeed grab a Runabout and Trailbreaker, but no Sunstreaker - I wonder if he's shortpacked. I now have the entire wave including Fasttrack except for ol' sociopath.

If that's true, the ones near my realm need to fix their websites. For nearly a month, Thrust has been listed. But always saying "Pre-orders sold out! Check back on Dec. 1 when he will be in stores!" As soon as midnight rolled around and it was Dec. 1, my minions checked. It changed to simply read "Sold Out".

I was very surprised at the transformation since the top part is nothing like the siege one. Totally new way to get all that new detail, I was very impressed. That's why it's such a shame that they recycled parts from the Earthrise version for the legs. I really don't see why with all that tooling, they couldn't just retool them to no longer have the vestigial ports. That would also avoid them to make the flaps (that's 2 extra parts to make and assemble). Just seems wasteful for somethin vestigial to still be around. A big flaw on an otherwise incredible toy.

They left the wheel hinge in there too, using more parts, but then making it completely immovable by adding the back leg panel.
Some of the choices made on this figure are weird.
Overall he is a really good Optimus Prime.

With how complex the leg assembly is, I actually wonder if they automated some of the assembly for the legs, where it actually made more sense ($$$) to re-use the molds and the automated assembly instead of just making new legs without all the extra parts and figuring out the new assembly methods. They have put out 3 versions of the Siege mold and 3 more of the Earthrise mold so far and I would expect the were into production one right after the other, so you could basically leave the leg assembly line up and running all throughout production.
