New Transformers: Power of the Primes Teaser

Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Albatross250, we have some Power of the Primes news that isn't a leak for once, as the Transformers Instagram page has posted a teaser for the upcoming toyline. As for the teaser itself, we have limbs!...no, not combiner limbs, just some regular legs and a wing. Seemingly cropped from packaging art, said wing likely belongs to Swoop, and one of the legs to Grimlock. The owners of the other two legs aren't quite as certain, but according to the Instagram post, all will be revealed on September 8th at Hascon! The leg right next to Grimlock is probably the rumored Eltia One's foot or another femmebot's foot and the claw foot I'm not sure about could belong to one of the members of Predaking.

Upper Left: Grimlock
Upper Right: Moonracer or Elita-1
Lower Left: Slash
Lower Right: Swoop

Three are Wave 1 figures, while Moonracer and Elita-1 are Wave 2, according to the leaks, and usually the first one or two waves are shown off at conventions.

The female leg is a dark green color so clearly it's Moonracer.

I looked up the leaks, and the design is definitely more like Moonracer's than Elita's. The latter's are more blocky.

That said, we have seen Generations packaging art take on very artistic liberties before. I'm leaning towards one of the Deluxe female Autobots rather than the Voyager Elita-1, but we'll just have to see.

And god, I hope this line gives that team a new, better name than 'female Autobots'. As team names go that's about as creative and unique as the G2 tech specs.

That would be a much needed change and hopefully the name has nothing to do with gender like Valkyries or Amazons.

Maybe reuse the The Cybertron Defense Team name from the Cybertron cartoon/toyline since Elita's has always been a Cybertron resistance team if my memory is correct.

Their combiners mostly for examples there are the Dinobots (Yes they are combiners), Elita-1 and her chumps (Yes they are combiners as well and Elita is a retool of Starscream) and the Terrocons with a few other characters like Jazz and the Decepticon Powermasters as deluxes, the Leaders such as Hot Rod are kind of like a deluxe that combines with a trailer to make a leader for some "evolution gimmick" such as Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime.

Replacing Powermasters are the Prime Masters that are basically the 13 Primes as Titanmaster retools but their engines/sparks instead of heads now although they can still be used as Headmasters, this isn't everything but I'm trying to give s brief summery you can find pictures on the net if your interested.

Ok let's get the most obvious ones out of the way, 1st pic is Grimlock, 4th is swoop.
Now on to the speculation part, I believe the leg in the 2nd pic is Blackarachnia, and the leg in the 3rd pic is some kind of raptor, hence why the foot has a hook like claw, so maybe Slash or Dinobot(beast wars). But can't wait till September 8th to find out. ;)^

I'd love to see Hasbro make their version of Nightbird with the Earth Wars coloring. Alas, I doubt they'd be doing it unless it were an exclusive to something. The foot looks like Moonracer's.

Upper left is Grimlock, bottom right Swoop, bottom left is Slash due to the pronounced raptor claw. I can't wait to see Slash in his entirety as I've only seen blurry ones. Cindersaur looks to be a Fireblast Grimlock-esque coloration of Slash.

Stoked to see the neo-Dinobots that combine. Also hope to see the Predacons and Terrorcons as I'm a sucker for the beasts and also the micro-Pretenders as I've finally re-aquired Bugly after having to sell mine off over 18 years ago.

2018 is expected to be an expensive year for me.

Divebomb, or any of the individual Predacons getting art would be quite a surprise, really. The CW Devastator set only had art for the big guy, it could be repeated for Predaking.

Regarding that teaser image that's definitely Grimlock and Swoop, most likely that Legends-Class Slash that was in the leaks (wonder if he'll turn into a weapon like some of the CW Legends figs), and probably Elita (or Moonracer).

Can't wait for the full reveal.

I'm super psyched about Power of the Primes!
Classics/Generations was a good start with some great figures.
Combiner Wars is pure love.
Titans Return is amazing G1 goodness with awesome headmasters all over.
The new line is just take my money and I need to buy a house to store
all the new Transformers.

Nothing but amazing in my eyes, no complaints.

Just one tiny request: War for Cybertron Slipstream retool/remold of one of the figures with a game accurate head please.

This item is more of the sofubi type figs.

Any company making a sofubi that low on detail would be ashamed of itself. Assuming it's official this is definitely a mock-up showing proof of concept, probably 3D printed by Hasbro's design team. HasCon is going to be literally outside Hasbro's front door so expect them to display a bunch of stuff like this.

Even in the rumour section, GET IT RIGHT!

I for one loved the catalogues from the original series...but Hasbro is too cheap, it would mean many extra pages of paper. Power of the Primes is looking to be a great line. I'm wondering what they will do with the Cybertron Resistance and Dinobot teams for the combined forms. Totally unprecedented really (Beast will not count for the dinobots). Although, if the Cybertron resistance (using it for the ladies) team combines, it will be the 2nd female combiner. man, we are moving along here!

Though, with the idea that they want to release the entire team in the same wave, where will Jazz, Dreadwind and Darkwing fit in? Wave 2 that is sort of random?

Actually, I think they are doing the exact opposite. None of the teams will be released in the same wave. And in the case of Jazz and Dreadwind/Darkwing, we might be waiting until waves 5 and 6 just to complete them.

They could have went with any number of character names, or created a new one. Personally I think Sling (the Dimetrodon) would have been an awesome choice but...Raptors since JP and all that...

We talking movie to generations specifically, or any new to generations?

Lockdown, Lugnut, and the modern portrayal of Bulkhead all originate from Animated, but later crossed over to other lines, so just any line moving over to any line.

It took a few months after CW first came out for UW to be announced. I am Hopeful that if :TAKARATOMY:

is going to continue UW, or do UW 2.0, or whatever, that something will be announced around end of the year would be my best guess...

All I can say is TakaraTomy will not pass on an opportunity to release Abominus, Predaking and the Dinobots in some shape or form. Actually, that goes for all main mold-use toys, really. The question is merely how. Dreadwind and Blackwing will probably be released in Legends as Buster and Hydra, combiner pegs be damned.

Any rumors of the Unite Warriors coming back for Abominus and Predaking?

All I can say is TakaraTomy will not pass on an opportunity to release Abominus, Predaking and the Dinobots in some shape or form. Actually, that goes for all main mold-use toys, really. The question is merely how. Dreadwind and Blackwing will probably be released in Legends as Buster and Hydra, combiner pegs be damned.

Yeah, I was counting on Buster and Hydra, hopefully in a 2-pack. The uw sets were beautiful and I really hope they keep the spirit of them intact, even if they call them something else

In addition to the first teaser from a couple days ago, we also have a second image from Hasbro directly (via the Transformers Facebook and Instagram pages) about their upcoming reveals at the first ever HASCON - taking place in Rhode Island on 8-10 September!

Both images are of Sludge/Slog and Hun-Gurrr, each of approximately one-third of the body. All that's missing are head shorts.

I definantly see Sludge and Hun-Gurr there but I can't tell who the other two are the Con I think might be Blot but the Bot I have no idea looks like a Dinobot but none of the five have two heads maybe a new character/Sinnertwin pretool? We might finally get an Abominus :-D

but I still want the full Original Dinobot team.
