Greetings Seibertronians! Today, fellow Seibertron user, Riley Hoffman, has pointed us in the direction of a new video review of the forthcoming Transformers Studio Series Leader Class SS-44 Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime figure! The review has been done by YouTuber Kevin Liu, and has been embedded below for your convenience. Check it out!

While SS-44 is actually just a redeco of SS-32 Voyager Transformers 07 Movie Optimus Prime, he comes with a trailer full of goodies to justify the Leader Class price point. The trailer opens out to transform into a Flight Pack and a weapons ring. It also includes several hand held weapons like his Axe, Shield and more.

As its the same mold as SS-32, this version is fully compatible with the previously released Studio Series Leader Class Jetfire, using the included Ab piece.

Is this the Prime you've been waiting for? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

So...If you did not purchase SS-32, you could purchase SS-44, and it would still be fully compatible with Jetfire? That is pretty cool.

I totally forgot about that ab piece that came with Jetfire. I put it inside Jetfire's body like the Takara instructions show and rarely thought about it again. Damn good storage space for a piece that isn't even part of Jetfire. :P

o.supreme wrote:So, while I don't purchase studio Series figures, I do enjoy seeing them in store. Has anything been revealed as to #36 (Drift w/baby Dinobots) as to how it will be released?

That reminds me when I got Long Haul a week ago the store had that Drift with mini-dinos but I could only afford one purchase and went with Haul.

It's cheaper online anyways. Often about £27 or so not this £32.99 voyager type pricing.

Yup!

@Carnivius_Prime I wish I had a store like that near me  closest is Newcastle to me.

Ain't as close as I'd like. 80 min bus ride each way which is tricky for me with my anxiety problems but I do it anyways cos i gotta push myself a little. Drift was gone when I was there today though. That MPM Megatron wasn't even anywhere near the Transformers section. Was up high at top of comic shelves with other boxed expensive stuff like statues and such. Their Transformers section is one column of Siege, Studio, a couple of left over PotP and some TF card game boxes.

Yeah there were several Sixguns. Also a couple Shockwaves, galaxy thingy optimus, ultra magnus, laserbeak/ravage, some micromasters and from potp there was elita one, that black rodimus prime, sludge, moonracer, hun-grr

studio figures were just crowbar, crankcase, RotF Megatron, Thundercracker.

I still can't get on board with labeling an accessory laden Voyager class figure as a Leader class. Maybe I'm just too much of a curmudgeon.

I really don't like it with Siege Shockwave cos that's a completely made up add on that's also rather goofy at times (like when it's a backpack of arms and legs), but at least with DotM Optimus it's an already establshed and much requested add on in all it's configurations.

I rest now. Night. :)

That backdrop that comes with DOTM Prime is awesome, probably my favorite so far. Maybe a future SS Shockwave will re-use it?

Now that we have confirmation of the final color scheme, I painted up SS-05's legs with a brighter red so now they're ready for swapping when DOTM Prime gets here.

Finally got around to snagging Rampage after a while of debate. He's better than I expected. Instructions were hellish to try and understand to the point where I just fiddled with it to understand roughly where things go. While I didn't expect much from him, he is kinda fun to mess with. Can't wait for the other Constructicons to show up, particularly the big chunk that is Long Haul

Nope! I was going to but the Target I was at didn't have him in stock. But I figured picking up the Constructicon I was least excited for was a good idea because I'd either be pleasantly surprised with him, or I'd at least be able to guess the quality of the other Constructions considering none of the other Studio Series figures have a combination gimmick. Definitely picking up Scrapmetal next time I see him ;)^

Rampage is an excellent figure, glad you like him! He is my favorite SS figure of this year so far, and definitely my favorite con of the line!

Yes, yes you are and the Laser Rod, RiD, and Unicron Trilogy Optimus Prime toys would like to have a word with you :P Heck, the basic idea goes back to the original G1 Optimus and Megatron toys. The idea of a "consolidated large figure" Leader didn't really crystallize until Galvatron (although Shockwave might be considered a precursor).

The jetpack is once again minus the correct wing pivot and the engines seem a bit too far out, but the integration is fairly clever. A shame that it completely crowds the trailer. The lack of paint on the trailer is also a shame, but having to paint that much surface would probably drive him up to Commander class so...

his trailer should transform with a spring loaded mechanism or at least the ring part should be so when its straight its under tension then have a release button to make it spring into a ring

Fellow Seibertronians! Yours truly has discovered some exciting news, this time being about the new Transformers Studio Series SS-45 Age Of Extinction Helicopter Mode Autobot Drift (phew!). Thanks to the TFND Facebook page, we now have in hand images of this new figure to show you. Despite being a retool of the very lackluster (and still shelfwarming) Helicopter Dropkick, this figure manages to pull off an accurate representation of Drift as he appeared in Age Of Extinction. These photos show off the detail of the robot mode, helicopter mode, packaging, and some comparisons with the previous Studio Series Drift, as well as Copter Drift's retool, Dropkick.

This figure is slated to be released late August of this year, along with Car Mode Dropkick and Constructicon Hightower.

Will you be picking up this figure? Are you content with your other Drift(s)? Tell us in the discussion below.

If this Drift is any indication of us getting a rerelease of AOE Drift in screen accurate colors or even a new mold, then I'll buy him. Otherwise, I'll probably just stick with the TLK repaint

Think I might actually get him for my Siege collection since he looks "Cybertronian" enough.

Fellow Seibertronians! Hot off the heels of the in hand images of Helicopter Drift, we now have a video review of the new Transformers Studio Series SS-46 Car Mode Dropkick! Thanks to fellow Seibertronian TFanPage101, we present to you the first video review of this new figure from YouTube Reviewer Kevin Liu. In the video, Kevin shows off the transformation, detail, and articulation of the snazzy blue 'Con.

This figure, along with Helicopter Drift and Constructicon Hightower, are slated to release in late August.

Will you be trusting this bot enough to take him to your home leader, and finally let him in? Or has he popped one too many indigenous lifeforms for you to handle? Let us know in the discussion below.

You might have sold me on that Drift w/ dinos set. I actually wish they'd re issue the DOTM (?) blue Bugatti again. I wonder how he'd scale. I know he transformed completely backwards from the "current" Mercedes Drift.

Both Shatter and Dropkick really had some interesting things going on with their conversions. Almost reminiscent of DOTM levels of fiddly. I do wish Hasbro would stop with the unpainted snap-on wheels though.. they just look so cheap... I also understand there's not a whole lot of room to hide the arms on either figure but they're just kind of hanging out down there.

Not really no. I have the 3 FOC Seekers, but that is as close as I am to having several seekers. I plan to collect the seekers from Siege minus Starscream and Thundercracker most likely.

Unless you’re willing to only keep her on display and never play with her, or just keep her in her car mode, I wouldn’t pick her up.

Once in a while, Universal has exclusive Transformers toys, usually movie related (but not always). Well, with the Studio Series line, it seems Universal has some new molds to choose their exclusives from. They will be getting a grey redeco of Transformers Dark of the Moon leader Megatron (aka Hobo-tron to some). We have the official renders below. From them, we see that he does not come with the tarp or his little buddy.

The deco is most probably inspired by Universal Studio's Megatron who taunts kids at the park, and who is rather popular on youtube (you can see an example below).

It is unknown at this time how this toy will be available outside of Universal, though the previous Snarl exclusive was found practically nowhere else. So, are you excited? Let us know!

Yep, he has a slightly tweaked version of the ROTF murder arm (seemingly without the larger blade)

I prefer Fusion Lobster Claw Cannon :-P (The official name, "Death-Lock Pincer, is awesome as well)

I remember reading on TFWiki that Megatron's cannon was missing the blade part because of when it broke during ROTF.

TFWiki wrote:Megatron is seen with a Death-lock pincer in Transformers: The Ride – 3D, though with his Dark of the Moon appearance. Although possibly unintentional, the Fusion cannon Megatron uses in the Dark of the Moon video game seems to represent his death lock pincher without the blade. Given that Optimus broke the blade, it may have been a reference to the previous movie.

Yep, he has a slightly tweaked version of the ROTF murder arm (seemingly without the larger blade)

I’m really liking this repaint! Makes me wonder if we’ll see more Universal exclusive SS repaints.

Wait, can the DOTM Megatron arm swap with the ROTF cannon arm?

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure the connections between the two arms are different. Just wait for 3P to make one, if HasTak doesn't make one themselves.
