So we're finally going to get the Dinobots ... with the added bonus of them being able to combine ...
But now Predaking will tower over the Dinobot combiner, as will the Predacons over the Dinobots. Come on Hasbro! If ever there were two sets of figures that should be a similar size, it's the Dinobots and the Predacons. :BANG_HEAD:

The Terrorcons look good, waiting to see how Abominus looks considering Hungrrr's torso mode looks to be based on CW Silverbolt engineering.
Can already see some potential redeco's as Monstructor parts.

Next up on the block for our New York Comic Con Galleries is Power of the Primes Rodimus Unicronus! The surprising recolor of Rodimus Prime is inspired in part by the Shattered Glass series and still retains the "Upgrade" gimmick from his Rodimus Prime counterpart. Check out some of the images from our gallery below, featuring Nemisis, Rodimus Unicronus, and his vehicle mode, and then click any of them to be taken to the full selection.

So Sinnertwin and Cutthroat weren't derived from Doublecross and Swoop. That's very pleasantly surprising!

The side view reminds me of G1 Grimlock with his head being set so far back from his chest. I even think super gluing swoop on its back and wrangling Slash as a deformed dino arm would make it look better (that or multiples of the same bots for limbs to even it out). Another case of third party (Gcreation) doing a better job in my eyes.

So... The hand-pieces are not the same color as the feet-pieces?

Is that how G1-version was?

These reveals are great!I wasn't all that interested in Rodimus Unicronicusexbealadocious, but I'm kinda sold on the mustache alone. I'm real excited for those Terrorcons.

Nope. In G1 the hands and feet of each combiner we 1 colour , which made it easier to tell which combiner some of them belonged too (Abominus had purple, Computron's were burgundy)

Looks good, but somehow I like the regular Hot Rod colors better.

Liking the Terrorcons, though I'll likely skip them all except for Blot and Hung-Grr.

Did they just remold CW Silverbolt into Hun-Grrr? That's kinda what it looks like. Those forearms in beast mode are kind of weak sauce. I like the other Terrorcons, and I'd get Hun-grrr to complete Abominus, but it looks like they phoned it in with his engineering....

We have some exciting news and images for you. Every Terrorcon from Transformers Power of the Primes was revealed in full colour at NYCC 2017. We can see Windcharger and Skrapnel. Skrapnel seems to be a straight up rerelease of the T30 figure. Windcharger on the other hand is a totally new mold from the one we previously got in Combiner Wars. Do you like this one better? The Terrocon are looking very promising so far but at this rate I'll have to carefully choose what to collect because there's no way in hell I can get everything I want. Little bit puzzled at those faceless pretenders decoy suit, however.

Windcharger seems to be a bit more complex than his original transformation, if only for how his chest looks. One to keep an eye on.

Landmine and Metalhawk are two retools I certainly don't mind as they will make for AWESOME dual cannons :)

Pretty sure that some of the decoy suits (Metalhawk and Landmine in this case) allow you to see the Prime Master face when they're in the suit.

Terrorcons look amazing, can't wait to see abominus, since it's based on silverbolt, it's already set to be the best combiner in the line.

And that knee kibble on the stegosaurus though... :BOOM:

Windcharger looks really dumb

the pretenders are a waste of money, like the idea of using the matrixs' as faces though, that could have some cool potential :-?

Those Terrorcons all look great. Many of them are much improved over their G1 counterparts, especially in robot modes where they don't have stubby arms. The only one that may be a slight downgrade is Hungrr, if only because his original figure was one of the better G1 offerings.

Candy corn for scale.

I like what I'm seeing here. I'll still probably only combine them once or twice before forever keeping them in either dino or bot modes.

Yes, there is some parts-swapping there. And how is reusing a couple of parts from one figure constitute 'phoning in'? That's actually kinda clever. Hasbro is saving money, while still giving us something fairly different and unique. They're learning from Combiner Wars, and we're not getting rehashes of the same figures over and over. In addition, they're reusing parts from one of (if not the best) of the Combiner War Voyagers.

Can't speak for Death, but while I don't have a problem with the shared parts/engineering, I'd still argue they 'phoned it in' a little bit for unrelated reasons. I'm not a designer but surely those front legs could've been done so many other ways - as it is they look vestigial and generally bad.

Admittedly, he looks better in color and I don't hate him, but I'm sure they could've done just a bit more to bring him up to par. Much like Sludge with the Dinobots, I'm mostly interested in him to complete the Terrorcons/Abominus - on his own he's a fine figure, but with all the other home-runs in this line he'd be pretty low down the priority list if not for his connections.

Speaking of home-runs... I absolutely adore Blot's hand transformation. The way they did the Wolverine-claws to beast mode hands is perfect and ingenious and I love it lots and lots :x .

Guys? I think we just inadvertently discovered another combiner coming out of this line.

Cutthroat's stock CG render has a head like his G1 toy, but the actual toy sample on display has a different head, one that instead looks like Wildfly/Yokuryu.

Plus, Snarl has guns on his Stegosaurus head, not unlike Doryu:

We just might be getting a Dinoking out of this line.

I took a second look at those legs of Hun-grr's. Completely agree. Something about them just seems...off. They almost look hollow in the back, and if that's the case, I really am being turned off by the figure. I'm probably wrong on that account, though.

I do like the look of Cutthroat/Windrazor. Dunno why. Maybe it's just my bias toward aerial characters.

Definitely gonna get this group, though.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, I'm guessing Monstructor/Dinoking would end up being a boxset much in the same way Liokaiser was; since they can't do six components and they need to compile members into a torso.

Ok, let's see who's a retool of who here:

- Hun-Gurrr: new mold, general skeleton based on CW Silverbolt. No reused parts tho.
- Cutthroat: sorry Kurona, he does reuse parts of PotP Swoop. I'm spotting the upper legs, the arms and the inner half of the wings to match Swoop's.
- Sinnertwin: new
- Rippersnapper: new
- Blot: new

As far as I can tell of course.

It is Vector Prime, after all. ;)

Though, the little lines and dots are based on those seen in this art:

Vector Prime is appealing to me more and more. A character from my childhood series + a prominent character from the modern IDW comics I love? In addition to having a matrix that looks like a cyber key and Metalhawk turning into an awesome cannon? Sign me the heck up.
