a few figs in the universe line was what i was expecting but now a whole line? ... WOW
honestly im not a big fan of the optimus toy so im kind of panicking until i see more figures.
if they arnt too good then they're just taking up molds that could be used for better stuff.
im probably judging WAY too early tho. i admit, im REALLY looking forward to seeing some seekers for this line as well as omegasupreme and trypticon (if they get a mold)
and of course i would NEVER turndown an excuse for an epic cybertronian soundwave XD

OMGEEE!
This is going to be awesome!!!
There has never been a tf toyline based on a TF game! Games tend to have more cool & brute designs then cartoonlines.
Really hope it will be a succes so that the line will have plenty of figures. I do think Hasbro is taking a risk, a game isn't
on tv for everyone once a week. And that's the primary promotion of a toyline.
I iz really happy!

That alt mode looks like poo. I can only hope that his bot mode makes up for the look of that vehicle.

Deluxe and Legends size for sure on Prime.
Cons : Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream( and most likely several repaints of Starscream).
Maybe an Onslaught..
Sounds limited enough...Smallest line to date only has 12 toys I think..? It is america though.. XS~!!

I think that the smallest american Transformers line was the Kaybee exclusive Machine Wars line. It has 12 so and only 7 of them were new molds. The others were repaints of the new molds that must be the one you're thinking of. Would Kiss Players be considered the smallest japanese line?

Even if you take the girls out if the equation, there are 10 Kiss Player figures (Autrooper, WST Autrooper, Convoy, Hot Rodimus, the eggbots and the cassettes). Alternity is currently smaller, and depending on how technical you want to get, the Nikeformers etc. Are even smaller than that.

I would say Transformers Hybrid Style is the smallest Japanese toyline, it has 2 main toys and an ehobby exclusive repaint of the second one and it's still the same character just in black.

I forgot all about Hybrid Style, I wouldn't count Alternity because it's ongoing and we know will be getting more characters/molds, Sports/Device/Music/Disney Label I didn't count because I don't really consider them a line, just more of an advertising campaign.

That one subline in Binaltech, Asterix, was pretty short. Looking it up seems to reveal just three figures.

I bet the "limited" line is to test the market for this franchise. There was a lot of talk of using the game to springboard into a new franchise. If the game rocks and the toyline sells, there WILL be more.
In fact, let's call it right now: if War for Cybertron has legs, Hasbro will push this as the next core Transformers line after the third Bayformer flick. Best of all, assuming the new cartoon is unrelated, it could be a fall back if the game fails.
