Nice! But that set will be 200$ for sure. I'm not really interested in Perseptor and I always wanted Blaster. Maybe when this set will come out, this will drive the price of the latest reissue and the vintage down a bit.

A pretty neat collection! All that in one box

So instead of getting rewind, perceptor gets a box of crap ? I dont see anyone buying this. Why is hasbro re-re-re-issuing stuff that was just re-issued maybe 2-3 years ago ? Seems like just yesterday I bought perceptor and the insecticons 3 pack at TRU for about 50 bucks a pop. Im not sure why anyone would want to pay double the price for a bigger box...

And big ups to Va'al for the debut of "Steeljawk"....you rock ! ;)

What are those red things in the lower middle of the package? I don't recall Blaster nor Perceptor having those things.

Are the cassettes the same size as masterpiece jaguar and rumble? If so, then I may get this set just for that!

Does anybody know?

It's a new accessory: a holder for the microscope slides for Perceptor to use.

Why? They're life-size (supposedly) as they are, plus they're the G1 original molds. :?

To him, they're too tall to interact with the smaller toys of the characters that the two were the same height as in the cartoon.

It seems that the Eject cassette has painted details that mimic the original cassette decals. As far as I know that's a first. But why the purple? And the details on Ramhorn appear to be white which would be a first too. As a cassette collector these jokes make me run out of space and money.

Well I dont have either and buying the reissues (especialy blaster) would cost me way more than the price this set will be (shown in a reply to Kanrabat below). And plus, Perceptor was rereleased 6 years ago, get your facts straight. As for Blaster, well:

-Kanrabat- wrote:
william-james88 wrote: I did some research on the previous Blaster release. While the insecticons were sold at large, Blaster wasn't. He was a con exclusive at first and found his way to HTS but was still quite limited. That release never got the same exposure as the insecticons or perceptor. And plus that was 7 years ago, so quite a while and thus I really dont get the complaining. Like last year's Predaking, its an easy toy to rerelease and finally make available to everyone who didnt get him, and at retail :)

No, this will sell at around the same price as the seekers, predaking and insecticons, confirmed here so hopefully Walmart gets these instead of toysrus. It's odd, aside from Trypticon and the 2 year of the goat issues, who sells for 200$ everywhere, the rest of the platinums all seem to retail for the similar 100$ price point, as if they looked at the size of the box instead of the toys inside.

With a names like 1984forever, he should know the scale of the original toys, and wish them to be that way forever (which is exactly what Hasbro is doing with these).

I hated the original sizes of these toys. Christmas '86 I completed the movie cast with Blaster and Perceptor, and I hated how Blaster was bigger than Metroplex! My name may be '84forever but I'm a Chug/Mp guy all the way.

So, I get that the ...container thingy is used to hold the slides for Perceptor's microscope mode, but what the heck does it do in robot mode and why does it open up like a tripod? I must be missing something here.

Looking forward to seeing what the slides are. Maybe it'll be a tease for an upcoming product or something cool or the coordinates for a reissue of Rewind. His absence is baffling to me.

The previous release was just lazy and taking a short cut and was also a while before Rewind gained popularity amongst fans thanks to the current run of IDW Transformers comics and James Roberts writing talents.

This release, it's silly and unfortunate that he's not included, or better yet that they should have done him as Rewind and not as Eject. Oh well. What do we know?

The only guess I could make as to why they went with Eject over Rewind is that they might have guessed more people would find Eject the more visually appealing, being a more colorful blue instead of black.

Stupid it is. Instead of adding those "slides" for Perceptor, Hasbro could have added Rewind instead. Weird business choices.

Taking a leap/assumption that the mold is around: they're just waiting to do a Rechrome set.

They mean a two-pack with just Rewind and Chromedome. As in, maybe Hasbro left Rwind out of this set so that they could release him in a two-pack with G1 Chromedome.

Oh, I get it. I would LOVE that! Actually, I would love any rerelease of G1 toys containing smaller figures like Headmasters and pretenders. I am kinda tired of going to cons to only find a bunch of cheap pretender shells and headless headmaster bodies.

Although, as you say scotty, its all wishful thinking. I really think that the reason rewind isnt there is because he wasnt there in the last "lazy" reissue and they just redid it for whatever reasons they had last time. This is a rushjob of another rushjob.

Then again, that Trypticon rerelease was a total surprise.

That would be the ultimate nerdgasm. But hopefully, they'll be sold per piece and not as a set. Unless the price point would be like that of the Seekers (3 in one box followed by 2 for the last), still withing cost expenditure range of my poor wallet :P

Pretty certain they will be released as sets, that's all they have been doing this year. And it saves on costs.

I'm pretty sure you went there after 3PM, aitcha? Because I'm sure you got your minibots from a dude who kept the "G1 minicons" in a closed cardboard box. I wanted Cosmos and Seaspray at 5$ each... Look like it was you who finally convinced him!

Anyway, I bought from him G1 Punch/Counterpunch for just 10$ and that dude bought Rewind at 20$ from the guy who had the Lego stuff and the remaining Action Master Shockwave. He may had some buyer remorse because I bought Rewind back from him for the same price he paid, meaning 20$.

Not that cheap, mind you, but sure beat any Ebay prices with shipping!

Na, I got my minibots from the same guy you got your long truck gobot from for 5 bucks. The other guy wouldnt budge from his 15$ price, which is the same as ebay. He wasnt selling too much lower than ebay for those. I have buyers remorse from the blitzwing I bought from him since I had not realized it didnt come with his tank cannon, he said he was only missing his missile. It doesnt make it an unfair price but it is no longer a deal and I dont like when a buyer isnt transparent. Anyways, I was there at noon.

You bought a Canonless, weaponless G1 Blitzwing... for how much?

By reference, I bought a G1 Blitzwing in great condition with his tank turret at the Marché au Puces St-Michel for 20$. ;)

However, I bought the gun and sword from Ebay (KOs most likely) for another 20$. Having known one guy had them at 5$ each at the convention.... #-o

I was scared we were getting off topic but then I realized we were talking about G1 reissues and if we should buy them, so its perfectly on topic for price comparisons with what is out there. My blitzwing came with a sword and a missile but no tank canon for 10-15$ (I bought 7 tfs from the guy for 50$ so I have to estimate how much he was valued in it).

A fair deal, but of course, hunting for the loose parts will just kill it.
I have a perfect Punch/Counterpunch that is like brand new and ultra tight for just 10$. But no way I'm I gonna hunt both missing guns at 30$ each.

Courtesy of usual suspect Genetic, from TFND.net, we have a series of in-hand images of the upcoming Hasbro Platinum Edition reissue of the G1 Trypticon figure, which has been confirmed to have all the features of the original intact, too! Check out a selection below, and head here for more.

Also included below is a round-up of videos courtesy of YouTube user Yu Ting An, showing off the different modes (base, city and beast), some of the features and all the electronic tidbits - give them a look, and see whether this reissue is for you!

I recently got a great, great price for last year's SDCC Knights of Unicron set... and I think I just found my stage!

Does anybody know?

I'll wait for a Masterpiece Blaster w/ cassettes since they'll likely have better robot modes than the G1 classic ones that are so narrow and look like cassettes with a few appendages sprouting out of them. The Masterpiece Decepticon cassettes have all been pretty nice and I'd expect the Autobot ones would receive similar treatment.

Looks like the plastic used for the radars, turrets, and full tilt gun are more solid gray as opposed to the silvery look of the vintage ones. My eyes may be deceiving me but that looks like a slightly different/lighter color of teal as well, but it may just be my monitor or my crappy eyes. Looking forward to getting this regardless, this is easily one of the most fun G1 molds ever produced.
