Hear hear! I regret selling my Generations Whirl but Dropkick looks fantastic, and so much more accurate. I love my aircraft and he looks superb. Bravo HasTak!
Also I like that the Bug Bee doesn't seem to have the rust effects as on the two-pack.

Can't wait to get him & make movie WHIRL.

Because he's a villain from the upcoming Bee movie and a triple changer (Although not in the toy), he's nothing like Whril besides turning into a blue helicopter.
Would you rather Whirl be turned into an actual villain and lose out on the one eye that makes him special?

Oh yeah, I totally forgot he's from THAT movie. I've pretty much blocked out anything related to Bumblebee.

I know they're not all blue but there's quite a lot. Whirl, Cyclonus, Rotorstorm, Rotorbolt, Coptor, Rotor, Drift, Windmill, Blackout, Flip-Top, Obsidian, Skyhammer, G2 Vortex, Highbrow, Blazemaster, Twister, Botcon Battletrap, Grindor sometimes, Evac sometimes and now Dropkick. Not to mention a bunch of Minicon redecos and whoever I left out. Most Spinisters, Twin Spin, RotF Votrex and TCC Topspin are all part blue too.
Damn, how did I leave out Blue Bacchus? It's even in his name that's he's blue.

Bumblebee looks great. I wish he had his standard "cute" face but I can dig it.
Dropkick looks awesome. I hope we get a version of his muscle car form though.
Ironhide looks decent, may get him but then again may not.
Shadow Raider looks great, I don't want Lockdown but as a Decepticon grunt/one of Lockdown's mercenaries I can get behind it and I'll probably get him.
KSI Sentry looks nice, I don't know if I want him as I already have Stinger (and I wish his vehicle mode had been retooled) but he is a good reuse of the mold. The arm claw is a nice touch.

As much as I'd love for that to be the case, given that Warden and his team seem to be under the delusion that shows from that era (as in, the height of MY childhood) are "too obscure" for people to care about nowadays, it's probably just a coincidence.ZeroWolf wrote:Maybe it's a cute nod to another mainframe cartoon from the late nineties/early noughties

Oh I know, he seems to have remembered some shows past that time mind (with UM car robots/rid 2001 inspired alt mode) still, would be a nice thought that one of the designers managed to sneak it in, even if it's highly improbable.

Eh, RiD was post-90s, so I figure he sees it as from the era after that (which had Armada and he seems to like Armada).ZeroWolf wrote:Sabrblade wrote:As much as I'd love for that to be the case, given that Warden and his team seem to be under the delusion that shows from that era (as in, the height of MY childhood) are "too obscure" for people to care about nowadays, it's probably just a coincidence.ZeroWolf wrote:Maybe it's a cute nod to another mainframe cartoon from the late nineties/early noughties

Yeah, unless we start seeing explicit Machine Wars homages, this brand team probably just zoned out everything from after G2 to before RiD 2001.ZeroWolf wrote:But that's it, I thought rid 2001 would have been more obscure than beast wars, but he does have it in for anything that has a beast mode...unless it came from the holy bible of G1 of course

You forget Thundercracker, but he gets a pass because that is an exclusive and I dont feel it is meant to be in the mainline (same as those gold BB redecos)

Just for grins, I did a count of Transformers that only appear in the first 4 films. I took into consideration that bots like Prime, ratchet, BB and Ironhide were basically unchanged in the first 3 films (basically any TF that did not change form one film to the next, paint deco is another scenario). I also excluded tiny bots like Wheelie, Brains, the Dr. etc... basically only Transformers that would fit in the current 3 size classes that SS is releasing and....
I came up with over 50 unique Transformers that could be released, without having to resort to repaints, or characters that didn't actually appear in the film series...and remember that's just the first 4, not counting TLK or BB.

Beside, the repaint principle is there since day 1 of G1. It's to be expected.

I think the KSI Sentry is fine, however as good as Shadow Raider looks I would of rather had Axor as the reuse. (With the same Lockdown masked head as much as I would love the Axor head.)

Ew, no thanks. Didn't like that mold the first couple times round.
Just saw these on https://www.facebook.com/Planetiacon.st ... 4660131799
Not sure what difference there is between 18 and 24. Both are yellow VW Bee. I presume one is a single pack and the other is the double pack with TLK Bee?
Also 15 is 77 Bee again...but with a mini-figurine of Charlie? Hey I'd like a bunch of human mini-figurines. Human Alliance figures are nice in that they're very articulated but too large for scale and too expensive to be buying all the TF figures they come with for them.

This line started out very, very strong, but I can’t help feeling like it’s gotten a little off track. While part of me is somewhat thankful that this is going to give my wallet a break, I’d really like to see them get back on track after. There’s still a lot they could do with this line. For the most part I don’t mind repaints. I know that repaints are a cheap and effective way to fuel a line. Hell they could release a repainted Megatron with silver paint and I’d buy it. They could release Brawl in desert camo (even though he didn’t appear like that in the movies), and I would still probably buy it. If they release Grindor as a straight repaint I’d be intensely disappointed, but I would still begrudgingly buy it. It’s just...this is a staggering number of Bees...

15: same as 01, but with Charlie figurine
18: 1967 Volkswagen Beetle
19: SDCC 1977 Chevy Camaro with Dairu and Uruaz
20: HTS 1967 Volkswagen Beetle with Uriad and Zauru
24: Bumblebee Then and Now 2-pack with 1967 Volkswagen Beetle & 2018 Chevy Camaro
25: 2018 Chevy Camaro (from TLK)
... Have they learned NOTHING?!

Yeah I gave up on that as of Last Knight Bee getting chucked in there. I'd love the whole line but I'm not buying an exact copy of a toy I already have. That and two expensive exclusives so far. I'm getting gold VW Bee but not the Camaro.

He's also shown with a gun arm in the photo above while the other isn't so there's probably a difference in weapons between the two similar to the two Starscreams.

I didn't even realise that's what was happening when I have been transforming him back and forth over the past couple months. I was always just smooshing the roof down on the car til it fit down more snugly and avoided those ugly gaps every time (and it's frustrating when people don't get that done and just review a gappy Jazz and slag it off. I appreciate that william-james went back and corrected his Jazz' transformation. ) and now you've pointed it out I can see that is what is happening and I may take a lil bit more care in case I break that clear peg. That hole the peg goes into is Jazz' robot mode flight stand port (that majority of TF's have had since AoE era) and I sure don't want the peg breaking off in there and rendering the port useless cos I love using flght stands for doing action poses. Wondering if it's worth just sanding that peg down and it's not essential for transformation and as shown has properly been getting in the way of it for a lot of folks :O

But his right hand can be switched out for a gun arm. It's one of his accessories. Can't quite make it out in the pics resolution but I think he may be using his normal head in one and battle mask in the other too. Could just be the photographers using different accessories for variety.

Thanks man, I want to judge things accurately and while my reviews may tend to bring out the flaws of figures, its only so that people can know what they are geting into. If its actually not a flaw, I wouldnt want to spread misinformation.
So thanks again to everyone for giving me the correction.
