We are starting to get more images of the upcoming Transformers Power Core Combiners. Apparently there are more than a few sets available via Taobao Auction. We know that the 5 Pack Combaticons mainly consist of a main robot with 4 components that form his limbs in combined mode. However, we get to see other robots from the Power Core Combiner series such as Smolder combine with the rest of the Combaticons to form an all new bigger robot. Check it out below!

Smoulder seems to give them proper knees and elbows. Nice, but I'm just interested in Smoulder.

I hope they'll sell 'drone packs' or something like that separately to create all of these crazy/awesome combinations without having to buy multiples of the same scout figure. This is going to be a very expensive line for me.. much more so than usual...

Very nice. I think HighPrime's 'drone pack' idea is totally the way to go.

Hahaha, wow. Inferno's a drag queen! Well, I'm not much of a G2 fan, but this is cool for anyone who is. I do get a slight tinge of nostalgia seeing that G2 Autobot symbol agian though.

I've gotta say, this is the first line since Cybertron (or maybe the original movie line), that I've been this excited for. Combiners are like crack for me, so this line will be like a year of Christmas.

I like these!
So, the center figure is only Legends class? I wonder how big these will actually be; maybe about Ultra class?

I believe the limbs are legends and the center/body is scout?

There is something about these that I like, and there is something about them I equally dislike.
I'll have to show them to my sons, while I don't want them for my collection, these seem like something they will enjoy.

Even with the new pics I still think these look like total crap. And I really do not see the greatness that is suddenly changing minds just because smolder is connected to the drones. That looks even worse than the bruticus mode. Feh, still a def pass on this line.

These are really starting to grow on me. In a way, they're fulfilling part of Energon's poorly-executed mission to have figures that all have the ability to combine.
I'm still not liking the lack of robot modes for the limbs, but I may pick up some of the core figures who appeal to me, and any add-ons they come with. And who wouldn't like another Bruticus?
Also, the idea of a bunch of small, affordable figures that can combine into something bigger sounds really nice right now.

I've been wondering if that is the driving force behind these and the new deluxe class RotF Ratchet and Ironhide? I'm betting little kids will really like these smaller things since they are easier to transform and will fit their hands better.

That looks pretty badass. As long as theres no stupid gimmicks like cyberkeys or spring loaded missiles this may be one of the best TF lines yet.

Why does everyone keep referring to the commanders as "having a second head"? Having it built in hasn't been new in how long? As we can tell from Smolder (and if you're smart, already knew from Bombshell) it looks like a fair amound a reconfiguring for the combined mode, so it's essentially a third mode. Like any other combiner.

You know the combined Combaticons do have normal knees ontop of the inwards bending joints!
These are pretty damn awesome and have sold me on the line now, and yes we need drone packs.
Still I wish they had proper arms in their combined mode.

Um. Wait a second, what?
These are Scouts with Mini-Con partners.
Because of that, they'll be inexpensive (we think), but something will come along and make them more money.
I think the theme packs would be a double edged sword.
On the one hand, it'll give each main robot a set to combine with (aside from the countless combinations that can be made as is).
On the other hand, I'm not sure they'll all sell as well as hoped, and we'll see a lot of pegwarming out of the Scout/Mini-Con packs and shelfwarming out of the boxsets once the inital awe has worn off. Plus, the fact that the drones do absolutely nothing but create UGLY limbs, won't help sell either.
Power Core Combiners will work with some kids, most likely find an audience with collectors, but in general, I don't think it's going to find as much of an audience as people think.
Not unless they start making those limbs more like what we're used to.
As much as it pains me to say this... if they were to G1-ify some of these sets and make 'em look like their G1 counterparts, I'd be interested in buying.
And I don't see why Hasbro couldn't do it. We could have a new Menasor and Defensor, and if they looked like a downsized version of the originals, with Mini-Cons in tow, I know a huge number of fans would buy into that. Why Hasbro didn't go that direction with these guys is beyond me.
Blargh.

Now I will admit that these look great! Like said before it would have been kool if these had there own individual robot modes, but they would probably end up looking poor. Now if you released just one or two big combiner core bots that would take the individual smaller cores to make up the limds for a larger combiner? That would totally make my day! You would just double up the connector ports (side by side)to make the joints. On a side note... I think if hasbro reissued their orignal combiners that would satisfy the G1'ers.

Oh great, and I only learn this AFTER I pre-order the crossfire sets!
Well... he doesn't get all the hands and neat guns that I do!
Also Smolder really adds the true Bruticus touch to this. Apart from being red that is.
