Walmart.com have placed their upcoming 2 disc Exclusive edition of the Transformers Movie for pre-order.
Judging by the sticker on the cover, the Walmart exclusive animated prequel: "Transformers: Beginnings", voiced by Peter Cullen, will be on the second disc, possibly meaning that the Movie itself will be the standard 1 disc edition.
The set will retail for $19.86, and will be available in stores on October 16th 2007.

It's not like the stores won't have a big block display for this once you walk in!
Preorder if your secluded, otherwise, GO OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!

i live in a fairly big city so maybe that helps but i have never had a store tell me they sold out...i always find the movies on the day of release, the only times i havent was because canada had a delayed release compared to the american date
unless there's some uber special cheap price and/or promotion only available by pre-order....i just dont get why people do.
but hey.....its an awesome movie so just buy it anyway u want..lol

Standard single disc case.
Transforming DVD case, with exclusive comic for the 2-Disc Collector's Edition.
Best Buy:
Standard cases (Standard single disc, 2-Disc Collector's Edition, HD-DVD), the 2-Disc Collector's Edition comes with exclusive Robot Heroes figures. (Cliffjumper, Battle Damaged Optimus)
Wal-Mart:
Standard (single disc, just the movie with commentary) ($14-15.00)
2-Disc collector's Edition. ($22.00+)
2-Pack (Standard single disc, plus animated Prequel, the one in the Wal-Mart link from the first post) $20.00
Circuit City:
Standard single disc.
2-Disc Collector's Edition with Classified Digital Content Card (allows access to 15 minutes of exclusive footage. Which will probably end up on YouTube, sooner or later. lol)
HD-DVD 2-Disc Collector's Edition.
K-Mart:
Nothing, nada. They're slummin' it as usual. K-Mart is a Chav store. (Thank you Brits. )
-----------------------------------------
And yeah, this set in question is the single disc because of the price. Wal-Mart did that with Batman Begins. Although that set was closer to $25-27 in some Wal-Marts.
All the retailers (except K-Mart) will have the HD-DVD version of the film as well. (It's the same as the 2-Disc Collector's Edition, but only in High Definition) This will start at about $30.00 and go up, if you take into account the prices of other HD-DVD titles.
One of 'em was supposed to come in a metal case, but I'm not sure which retailer that was. But it wasn't all that impressive. EDIT: I remember now. Canadian Best Buy stores were supposed to get the metal case, along with the Target comic book in the Collector's Edition.
I was going to go for the Target exclusive because of the transforming case, but I won't for three very important reasons:
1.) I'm not wasting 50 miles (round trip) worth of gas for a movie.
2.) I'm not going to depend on a DVD case that will break sooner or later (and it will, just look at those hinges and whatnot.)
3.) I can get the Collector's Edition cheaper at Wal-Mart.
Hope this helps to clear up some of the confusion folks.

Can't wait 3 weeks?
I'm not sure what "exclusives" we will be getting down here, but I have not heard anything about the Walmart version, so it might be the one to get...

*edit* Nevermind, I did some research. All I can say is..."meh". Already bought the prequel comic :/
