Though sadly, M.A.S.K. still beats Transformers in this department by having inspired a motorcycle that turns into a helicopter, and the destruction of the Challenger space shuttle (seriously, find the M.A.S.K. 4-issue limited from DC: they called it months before it happened in real life!)

No, that deal with Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery fell through. GM still owns Hummer and is in process of winding down the brand. Unless someone swoops in and scoops up the brand, Hummer is history along with Pontiac and Saturn.

I don't think it's a bootleg, either. Anyway, I'm sure original commenter was joking, and yours was a friendly back and forth Just clarifying the facts is all

Let's call it "Ratchethide"

The design team for the film(s) must've had a hand in this...I mean if it was unique; they must have had the only design, surely! Either that or emergency services thought the design existed and wanted it too! XD
It's great to see this though; Ratchet was one of my favourites and now his Hummer will actually be on the streets (okay, only in China, but still)! Hope it catches on to other countries!
The pictured Hummer has a shield on the door with (I think) a bear silhouette...Can anyone blow that up to read what the rest of the shield says (on the second photo)? Might tell us where it's for...

Yes, they even have a short feature of how they made it on the DVD bonus material.
You know due to this Movie Ratchet is actually the first Ratchet with an actual real-life alt-mode!

I am curious as to who is actually in possession of these rigs. The show is being hosted in China but any of the IAFF (International Asooc. of Fire Fighters) could be in attendance and be responsible for these vehicles. I blew up the photo but could get no text off that door symbol but that design is reminiscent of logos I've seen on California rigs. Would be more in line with their depts. too, what with the general style and the need for taking those vehicles up into the hills to deal with the numerous wildfires each year.

Actually:
Unless you meant an ambulance, I had a hard time finding one.
I'm thinking, maybe the people in this article purchased the actual movie vehicles and repurposed them as real rescue vehicles?

This may be the first go-around with the H2 for anything outside of carrying the most basic of supplies (or the battalion chief in a good deal more comfort than the rest of the crew) but certainly not new in a general sense.
True. There are two fire departments here locally who have been using H2's as their grass rigs for prairie and grass fires for a few years. One of the departments got there new rig after (and I'm NOT making this up...I was THERE!) one of their department buildings caught fire and burned to the ground.

There was no Ratchet in Armada, there was however one in Universe.
And I meant Ambulance, in fiction G1 Ratchet has always been referred to being an ambulance. But ambulances don't look like that, it's just a van pretending to be an ambulance.

These versions of "Rachet" were not built by the Chinese. They were built buy the same company that built by Symbolic Specialty Vehicles in La Harbra Ca. I saw one in person last October at the Cops West emergency vehicle trade show. The Spokes person informed me they built these for the Chinese and were scheduled to be completed in early 2010'. I was able to sit inside, climb on the roof, sit in the back the whole bit. I have some pics somewhere. I'll see if i can dig them up.
