He wrote the following schedule for the Takara MP releases:
Gold bumblebeeJuly
Convoy reissue
Tracks (he states this is not MP25)
MP25 in Sept (he couldnt reveal the name of MP 25)
Two new "sports cars" for October and November
He then gives a breakdown of the exclusivity (at australian retail) for the platinum releases:
Myer: Conehead Seeker pack and YOTG pair
ToysRUs: Insecticon pack, Perceptor/Blaster, Trypticon, and Dinobots.
While this last news may be fun, it should be noted that this could be a reissue of the G1 deco AOE Dinobots that were released at Comiccon, similarly to how the FOC Bruticus issued at Comiccon was eventually released as a platinum set.
It was also mentioned that if Hasbro do a GEN Slingshot & Wildrider they would come out next year as Combiners are going to be at least two years. This is in line with the statement from Hasbro that only 16 Gen deluxes would be released in 2015.
Also, leader Starscream (redeco of Leader Thundercracker) would be part of wave 4.
The two Hasbro MP releases of this year would be MP Starscream (MP11) and MP Bluestreak, the later will be released in July.
Lastly, it was mentioned that Loyal Subjects wave 3 should be out in the next month (April).
The Australia Toy fair started March 3 and will end the 6th.

I'm not questioning your news reporting. I do think the 25th MP should be a figure of a more important character than Tracks. Kup, maybe? He deserves some MP recognition, he was a major player of TF:TM and season 3.Va'al wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:So then Tracks really isn't MP-25, despite the news even on this site?

That's what's been bothering me about the Tracks news. He just doesn't seem special enough for a milestone number

I think that's unlikely. That's what I was thinking, but the MP-24 number was given to Star Saber long before MP-23 Exhaust was announced I believe.

Oh man, that is super interesting. But you know, the whole MP numbering is off. Like why does Exhaust and Red alert get a new MP # when Tigertrack and Acid storm dont.
And I wont even bring up how the recent Grimlock was listed as MP-03
Posted by Sabrblade on March 4th, 2015 @ 12:26pm CST
Alert and Exhaust are mass retail remolded new characters like Streak and Smokescreen. Tigertrack and Acid Storm were exclusives, the latter of which being an imported Hasbro figure.william-james88 wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:guarayakha wrote:The only possible reason i could think of, if this Tracks-not-25 is true, is that the constant whining of some fans on how StarSaber is NOT G1 enough got them good and Tracks is made MP24 instead while SS gets a new special numbering.

As for that Grimlock, Hasbro doesn't use the same numbering that Takara uses.

What's most important here is the potential for reissue G1 Dinobots. Hopefully this is what "Platinum" means in this case. This is important because a blue chested G1 Swoop needs to be a thing that happens. Don't want to pay four figures for a Diaclone one.

"Platinum" does not mean reissue. The Platinum Editions are special editions of certain toys, and currently integrated in Generations, which means they could be anything, like the G1-deco AoE Dinos from SDCC mentioned before.
I did a double-check, and the G1 Dinobot molds are still confirmed lost.

With the Dinobot molds lost, I'd say invest in the new MP scale Fans Toys stuff or go to ebay and get some original g1 dinos. That movieverse stuff is crap, no matter how much chrome they throw at it.

I am aware of this, hence words such as "potential" and "hopefully" were chosen. I just think the possibilities of what could be done with those molds as reissues is way more fun to talk about than the entirely arbitrary and unimportant numbering system for Masterpiece toys.

Right that's what the TF Wiki has said for a long time with absolutely no citation. Regardless, I'm sure if the KO makers of the world can reverse-engineer the Dinobots with pretty darn good success, an operation as large as Hasbro or Takara Tomy would have little trouble with it.

The numbering in this case has some importance; If Tracks isn't 25 (which he must be due to his appearance in magazines but); that would mean another unknown MP would be on the way. This would obviously excite people. We like getting MP's (I still call boo hockey on this whole thing though)
However, I don't understand the importance of a number in instances like 'OMG Star Saber is MP 24 wtf TT no Megatron!! !!!! or the constant questions implying Exhaust isn't allowed to be part of the main number system. Not sure how that happens.
And by the by, Tracks not being important enough a character to be that special milestone 25 isn't really valid. 25 isn't a milestone in a series where 6 of the first nine characters were either duplicates: (convoy) or characters who have since been ret-coned via new molds or tooling (Convoy, Magnus, Starscream etc) MP-25 is technically the 15th in the line since it's re-focus.

I still wouldn't put too much faith in G1 Dinobot reissues, because all reissues in the Platinum series have been released at least once before, meaning the molds are readily available:
Predaking: 2004, 2010
Insecticons: Transformers Collection, Universe 2008
Seekers: 2000 Japan convention exclusives, planned for Commemorative Series with only Dirge released.
Astrotrain: Transformers Collection, Commemorative Series
Blitzwing: Transformers Collection
I'd like to be proven wrong though, but again, production costs as I described earlier may put a wrench in that.

Sorry, I worded that entirely wrong. I was talking about how people thought Exhaust shouldn't be part of the main number sysytem. Him being officially MP23 seemed to set a some people off.

I'm not sure they are thinking "milestone" numbers when they are doing these. I mean, if we want to ascribe "milestone numbers" to when a new Japanese Masterpiece figure is released we could not only throw a character "more worthy" in at different numbers, we could probably just rearrange certain characters to have come out with "better" numbers. I could easily say "well Ultra Magnus could have been MP-25" or "Bumblebee could have been MP-20".
If I had to analyze what Takara is going by when things get released, it certainly has no bearing on hitting a character on a certain number. If they were, then that MP-25 number shouldn't go to somebody like Kup (who probably would exist to enhance your Hot Rod shelf more than enhance mine for any reason)...it should go to Megatron, Jazz or Ironhide. A character on that order of....popularity. And even then, that's my American thinking. It's not their popularity...it's mine. Which may or may not translate.

The molds aren't lost. The KO company that took over the factory has them!
And don't forget about Platinum Trypticon. If it's true, it'll have a very hefty price tag and would negate your statement above for the most part.
The Dinobots will be reissued at some point. As will Wheeljack, Mirage and Sunstreaker. It's just a matter of time. I still have faith even after all these years.
Now, where're the reissues of Metrotitan, Grand Maximus, G2 Devastator, Battle Gaia, and Generations Metrotitan? The conservative side of Takara and Hasbro are getting the best of them. They need to do something really fun with the reissues like releasing some high end reissues. The Platinum line could be heading in the right direction ... hopefully people will support it so that we can get some new reissues again. Encore was just getting good with Devastator and Fort Max.

If that's true, they'd still be considered "lost" as in "out of reach" for either Hasbro or TakaraTomy. Intact, yes. Located, possibly. Usable for reissues? Not until Haabro regains ownership of these molds.

not sure an 18 year old mold reuse couNts Especially one that was remolded and absent of original parts. That would be a technicality in my book.

Speaking of price rises... I asked, and yes, the recent 25% drop in the exchange rate of AU$ to US$ will see some noticeable price rises later in the year.
Yet they never went down when the dollar was up. Douchebags.
Hasbro Australia have decided to abandon Kreo in this country... so none of the RID build sets and the Convertible Kreo sets seen at NY Toyfair are
NOT coming here.
Oh well, didn't collect them anyway.

I actually think MP versions of Micromasters, Targetmasters, etcmasters... would be great. Targetmasters could just be really awesome large scaled transformers that come with a weapon-sized miniature that can actually be used, but there would still be a highly detailed transforming version to have fun with. Micromasters could be Bumblebee sized cars.

Back to the original post, my fingers are seriously crossed to see Jazz or Sunstreaker this year, but this rumor doesn't hold a lot of water with me because of the discrepancy over Tracks.

again this year, and the distributor here said that they will be at BigW, DavidJones, TRU and Toyworld this year. The Helicopter (Drift) is still not
coming here this year, as it was apparently cancelled (stopped production) soon after it was started, and only ended up being released in a couple of countries.
Nikko were planning to do some new ones for RID, but didn't get enough retailer interest, so cancelled them and that's why the Movie ones are
being re-released this year.
Loyal Subjects Wave 3 figurines should be out in the next month, as they have a March release date in Australia.
Hasbro.
GENERATIONS.
They only had the first two waves of the regular release figures, and only one of each of wave two Deluxes, so didn't want to open up the Deluxe
Stunticons to make a Menasor to fight off Superion.
The Titan Generations Devastator was on display, with my Gen1 Devastator I posted to Hasbro last week for them to show off the
difference of 30 years of evolution in Transformers looks like. (they didn't have the individual Constructicons though, which NY Toyfair had on display)
The Retailers have loved the new Devastator, with BigW already signed up for a June/July release (the mid-year toy sales).
I asked about DLX Slingshot & Wildrider after it was noted on another fansite, and was told that they aren't part of this year's range for Hasbro,
but since the Combiners line is already aimed to be at least two years, anything is possible after this year.
So if you want these characters, get the TakaraTomy versions (if their Menasor has a proper Wildrider).
The ToysRUs listing of Leader Class Starscream's bio is because it will be for wave 4, after Ultra Magnus in wave 3. With the smaller size classes
being four waves, that should mean five Leader Class GEN toys for this year.
Generations will see TV commercials here, which will be a first for us, due to a lack of Generations toys released here in the last few years.
The cheaper than normal Toyworld prices that we saw for the Generations toys, were indeed just introductory prices from Hasbro... so expect their
prices to go back up when they restock.
Speaking of price rises... I asked, and yes, the recent 25% drop in the exchange rate of AU$ to US$ will see some noticeable price rises later in the year.
(Hasbro America actually makes 25% more money from the weaker AU$ because they get their commission paid in US$ from Hasbro Australia...
which is a bonus for Hasbro America who only demand a certain amount of US$ from the Branch offices each year, instead of letting them send the
same amount of US$ so that they can keep the local prices static and not lose sales from unnecessary price rises)
No Generations Boxsets are planned at this time. (I asked, because TakaraTomy are doing it)
The giant Bumblebee - makes the classic transformation sound when you transform it. You can never get too tired hearing that sound in a
Transformers toy.
Transforming Titans... yes, just like Actionmasters decades ago, those crappy wacky non-transforming Titans will have some
transforming versions, that are just as simple as those Elite Actionmaster were.
Minicons. They only had two of the single packs on display, but this looks to be a first appearance of what the packaging will look like... and the
confirmed name of the Dragon Minicon.
Over to one side was this display of some licensed merchandise and potential merchandise here... plus a time-trial competition for the Retailers.
It was only a simple toy, the Mega 3-step Optimus, because the Retailers don't have time to be mucking around with a complex toy (and Hasbro
wouldn't want them frustrated with a product which might have them refuse to stock it).
Hero Mashers.
Only wave one RID shown, plus the re-release of the larger size classes. Hero Mashers will be huge this year, with about four Brands being released
as Hero Mashers.
The new "Mini Scene Packs" that were at NY Toyfair, which will have a couple of figurines packed with a vehicle from the Cartoon.
Plus, a new convertible Bumblebee in a new style of packaging, which I don't recall seeing at the NY Toyfair.
And Hight Tide playset. I wanted to have a play with this but ran out of time.
That's all the photos this year, which was more than the last couple of years.
Now for the info of things not on display...
Masterpiece.
Australia will continue to be following Hong Kong's lead and having both Hasbro and TakaraTomy Masterpiece toys at ToysRUs stores here.
The Japanese Masterpiece toys that SHOULD be coming this year (details and dates can change, and often do)...
- Gold bumblebee in around July,
- The Convoy reissue middle of the year,
- Tracks is NOT noted as MP-25 on the Hasbro Australia list, but maybe they have 25 and 26 mixed up, as Tracks was labelled as MP-25 in a recent Japanese Hobby magazine. If they are mixed up on this Australian list, then I know what MP-26 is.
- MP-25 (or 26 if the numbers were mixed up on the list) will be here in about Sept (I know what it is, but I can't reveal the name before TakaraTomy announces it)
- two "sports cars" for OCT and NOV (the names haven't be revealed to Hasbro Australia yet, as it is so far in the future, so I have no idea if they
are new moulds... but with three new moulds already this year, I'd imagine that at least one is a redeco).
(please don't bother asking me, or expect, any more information on the future Masterpiece toys, as I am not expecting updates before
TakaraTomy reveals the next few... and everything I am allowed to talk about is listed here already)
Hasbro Masterpiece.
The Starscream Masterpiece will be the second version of the mould, which was MP-11, because that was the version fans wanted (apparently).
Masterpiece Bluestreak will be out here in about July.
Platinum Edition.
It really is the year of the Gen1 reissues.
Myer exclusives - Seeker 3-pack, YOTG Optimus, YOTG Soundwave.
ToysRUs will have the Insecticon 3-pack, the Perceptor/Blaster 2-pack, Trypticon, aaaaand.... Dinobots. YES, Gen1 Dinobots multipack which I
hope is all five, and all in Gen1 colouring.
I guess all the popularity with Dinobots last year, it was finally worth rebuilding or reverse-engineering the original Dinobot moulds. Plus Trypticon
as another Dinosaur to sell off the hype of the Movie Dinosaurs.
(no sign of the Astrotrain/Blitzwing 2-pack here as it was not on the future store exclusive listing)
Miscellaneous items...
The Japanese Movie Stinger is still on for this month, but only at TRU though.... keep an eye on this site for a potential coupon code to get an
exclusive Ozformers discount (if Hasbro and TRU can work out the details before it hits the stores).
Some SDCC exclusives will be released in Australia this year. They weren't allowed to say what items (as SDCC and Hasbro America have to make the
official announcements by Press Release in a few months time)... but one will be a Transformers SDCC exclusive. These will be released through the
Sydney toy convention that has been on for the last two years, AND will have a second convention in Brisbane, that they are hoping to have on
display a small history of Transformers (using toys from my collection).
Details will be released later when finalised.
Hasbro Australia have decided to abandon Kreo in this country... so none of the RID build sets and the Convertible Kreo sets seen at NY Toyfair are
NOT coming here. (last November we were originally slated to have the first wave of Convertible Kreo in March, but it looks like that's now cancelled).
(a lot more items I need to import... )
That's pretty much all I can talk about from the 2.5 hours we were there, and if you have any questions about what Devastator was like to hold and
play with, Demonac will hopefully respond, as he got to do all the playing with the toys while I was busy taking photos and talking to people.
Lastly, a thankyou to Patrick from Hasbro Rhode Island, who was in Australia for the Toyfair I think, who took a few minutes to talk about what
he does at Head Office in America (works on the colour layouts of toys and games at Hasbro).

The whole concept of MP micromasters really intrigues me. I know it won't happen anytime soon, but it makes you wonder, look at what's been done in the MP line so far, and all of the engineering advances made in 30 years, maybe micromasters could have elbows.
Something about the size of the Spike Exo suit that came with 'Bee could make nice MP Micromasters
TRU Rodimus Prime comes with a Targetmaster.
I was actually thinking smaller than Offshoot, I'd love to see how small detailing and articulation could go now.
Back to the original post, my fingers are seriously crossed to see Jazz or Sunstreaker this year, but this rumor doesn't hold a lot of water with me because of the discrepancy over Tracks.
I dunno...besides a mistake, it all seems pretty reasonable to me...other sports cars could be road rage and somebody else, but yeah...I'd love Jazz and even Sunstreaker this year. Given Takara has/had a license for Lamborghini, I'm kind of surprised Sunstreaker hasn't been made yet.

I completely agree with you about Sunstreaker, I expected him to be out before the Datsun trio.

Is it what Sabrblade posted above?

Just saying our site has it too and plus, we have a whole discussion on just that right here.
