No, "perfection realized" is James Roberts' MTMTE comics, issue 12 in particular.

Though, Bumblebee is more of an original design that's like a partial cross between his cartoon model and his 2006 Classics toy, using elements from both but resembling neither.SlyTF1 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:That is straight up Masterpiece Grimlock in the game, with all his toy-accurate chunky detail not seen in the cartoon.

Close, but I have a few minor gripes with MTMTE. Nothing big, just one or 2 minor things that kind of keep it from being perfection incarnate, but it's close. Hell, the entire IDW universe is close, to be honest.
This game, however, I've seen absolutely nothing wrong with it, aside from the fact that you can't play as Megatron. If they added him, the game would exceed well beyond the realm of perfection. Shit would be immaculate times, like, five.

If you honestly rank the movies' overt sexuality, casual racism, and loosely-strung-together chain of explosions above the characterization, drama, and humor of Roberts' writing, then there really is no hope for you.

When did I say I did? The comics are the one thing I like more than the movies. But the comics aren't movies, so I can't say they're the greatest movies of all time.
I do still like movie Optimus more than IDW Optimus, though. Movie Optimus would have slit Megatron's throat during his trial after Dark Cybertron.

Hopefully the developers will work out the animation bugs before the release. (notice Starscream's canopy.)

I don't see it. Looks like the animation model to me, in both modes.

He appears to get smaller when he converts to robot mode. I watched the scene a few times and the mass shift always seemed odd.

Hello!
Today at Comic-Con International: San Diego, Activision Publishing, Inc. and developer PlatinumGames Inc. released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming third-person action-brawler, TRANSFORMERS: Devastation. Blasting off with a showdown between cosmic rivals, this new in-game footage puts the heavy metal clash of the heroic AUTOBOTS and insidious DECEPTICONS front and center with explosive cel-shaded detail.
TRANSFORMERS: Devastation brings Hasbro’s converting robot titans to life with classic Generations styling and modern attitude. This new trailer highlights four of the five playable heroes in the game – OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, SIDESWIPE and WHEELJACK – as well as notorious foes like MEGATRON, STARSCREAM and the towering combiner, DEVASTATOR. Whether leaping into vehicle form to ram enemies at high speed or juggling them in mid-air with a flurry of blinding-fast combos, the dynamic action of TRANSFORMERS: Devastation is so close it’s personal.
TRANSFORMERS: Devastation is expected to launch later this year on the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows PC via Steam. Really people? This is unheard of levels of awesome and all you can do is sit there and complain about the LOGO!?!?
Whatever, I'm buying and playing the crap out of this game. I mean I already was going to when they first announced it...now with all these other characters including GRIMLOCK!!! Voiced by BERGER!!! I'm drowning in excitement over this.

Thank you!!! And its for gaming consoles too not just PC like that last MMO one?
I watched the trailer and I think I even saw Thrust and Blitzwing. G1 Thrust and Blitzwing??? I dont think I have ever seen their G1 selves in a video game of this era and time....ever.
Thank you to whomever for finally throwing a bone to the G1 crowd. Thats all we've ever wanted is for all of this glory to be acknowledged and brought to life.
The WFC/FOC series was great and I loved the storylines, designs and artwork but somehow has been scrapped. And the shooter aspect of it felt kind of limiting.
This game not only do we use weapons but we get to kick, punch and fight too???!!!!!
YES THANK YOU!
I cannot wait! I will be waiting at midnight that day for its release.

The only other game to do that for me was ROTF and the first movie game and I hated the first movie game.
Now my only problem is the lack of playable characters I realize its platinum and I'm not asking for a bloated cast that barley gets screen time like the Cybertron games...
But this is Transformers one of the appeals of the franchise is the huge amount of Characters on both sides that we get to see but part of that is ruined by the whole modern dynamic of making all the cast in recent media being the team of
Optimus Prime
Bumblebee (Although I like him when he talks)
Ratchet (I love him though)
The big green guy (Why are they always green?)
The girl (Just the role not the characters themselves)
And the Sixth ranger
It would be perfect if they had Prowl, Jazz and/or Cliffjumper as well as Ironhide just for the fact this is a brawler game.
I at least hope other Autobots are in the game as NPCs and its not just Op, Bee, Grim, Swipe and Wheeljack as that would be a very boring cast.
Part of it is the fact I always hate characters named Wheeljack (Don't ask me for whatever reason I just automatically hate characters with the name I always do and not because of the name its thier character I hate)
G1 Sideswipe never does anything worth remembering and is the most generic of the 1984 Ark Autobots yet he is beloved anyways even by me.
G1 Grimlock has always been boring to me I always preferred Swoop but I have been liking him more and more recently so there is hope but these days he is being lumped in with same group as Optimus and Bumblebee as the guys non fans remember.

That's been the case with almost every Transformers game set on Earth except for ROTF (You could run them over even as Autobots!) and DOTM in Decepticon missions where they attack you in tanks and jeeps and such.
I feel that Hasbro doesn't want the games to have Humans due to the fear that players will try to slaughter them or something even as Autobots for irony.

Yeah that's what I meant the only times I remember him is either with his brother and when he was pretending to be Breakdown.
And giving Optimus his hi and bye jetpack that was never referenced again.

The High Moon Transformers games age is over for good.
Thank god. I never tried FoC cos War For Cybertron was such a huge boring waste of time and money with terrible floaty altmode controls and blocky models and oh god the tediousness of fighting the large bosses like Trypticon. I want that thrill from hurtling down a mountain in vehicle mode dodging trees and then transforming into robot form and blasting away. The PS2 Armada game may have had some faults (like the annoying physics when knocked or killed) and was based on a bad series but I always thought it deserved a sequel with improvements. Also I'd like them to put that game on PSN so I could play it again on my PS3. I don't have a PS2 anymore.
I was gonna give FoC a try to see if it had been improved but friends told me it was pretty much the same as WfC.
I actually enjoyed WFC and FOC. I love the artwork, designs and the storylines. It was as close to G1 as we were gonna get, that is at least until now.
Both games were great but the mechanics and gameplay on the other hand I did have some issues with. It was like both had things missing from the other. For example in WFC things like movement in vehicle mode were great but the weapons and powers were unbalanced between classes. Then in FOC weapons and powers were balanced but moving in vehicle mode was all messed up. WFC had endless rounds of escalation but very little in customization in MP. Then FOC had expanded greatly in MP customization but then Escalation was given cap limit. Both games were always backwards and had things that the other game didn't. Almost as if like High Moon couldn't get it right. The story, concept and design....Excellent but the mechanics, gameplay and features....laggish and inconsistent. Not to mention them being 3rd person shooter games they were very limiting in terms of up close combat. It sucked out loud to only have one melee and half the time it had no affect really. We never had to transform for anything unless it was to move into the next room. I'm glad this new game has incorporated transforming as a part of the combat PLUS melee combos AND weapons. It looks like it's going to be awesome.
I still love both WFC and FOC deeply though for its story and design. It was like watching a movie when you played those games.
You almost just wanted to hurry up and skip past the combat so you could watch all of the cut scenes.
I am a little bummed that High Moon will not be continuing on with the series cuz I did want see what was going to happen next as we were left with a cliff hanger at the end of FOC, but I think I'd rather have High Moon just make an actual damn Transformers movie rather than another Transformers game.(maybe they need to get on that)
This new game though looks like it has all the right mechanics and is exactly G1 designed so I'll accept this.

How far back do you think 2014 was? 10 years ago? That was just last year. 6 months ago even. That's still right now we are in.
And it's been Bayformers really since 2007, since the first movie. Four Bayformers films already. A slew of Bayformers toys and games.Transformers Prime I liked but it was Bayformer inspired. TFA was cool and it made G1 references but it wasn't G1. The new transformers robots in disguise 2015 series......Bayformers. And Rescue Bots is something different all together.
The only thing that we have had that has been remotely close to G1 at all is WFC and FOC and now this new game.

You know when the last one was before that? -It was for the original Famicom, again only in Japan back in 1987. So yes, in North America, there has never, until now, been a proper video game released based on the original Transformers, which makes this all the more exciting.
The Movieverse games are mostly fails, and while WFC, FoC, and even TF:Prime were fun, remember, they were based on the current Aligned continuity, not "Original".

That Japanese G1 game was (and still is) garbage. The voices and acting were terrible, the story was weak, the gameplay was abysmal, the character selection was underutilized... no amount of fanwank could save such a travesty of a game. Who in their right minds thought it would be a good idea to make a game about those who often use guns and blasters and instead only have them go around kicking everything? Absolutely stupid stupid stupid game that was an insult to everything G1.

They did that in hopes that it would get brought over here, but Hasbro said no because of how awful it was (Hasbro didn't even have any input on the game's development, being left out of it completely).o.supreme wrote:Hey man, that's your opinion. I get that the VA was bad. Even in Japan did it get so critically panned to the point of infamy over there.
Tell me truthfully, if one were to take all of the names and looks of the characters in the game and swap them all out for those of non-G1 (or even non-Transformers) characters, while leaving everything else about the game still intact, would you honestly still praise it as much as you do?

There's the G1-centric Generations line, the comics, the broad selection of T-shirts...
Don't get me wrong, I'm a G1 baby myself (well, more so Beast Wars, but it still counts) but G1 still has a massive, massive influence on the brand. New continuities come and go, but there will always be a version of G1.

Except for some Capcom games; Devil May Cry and Resident Evil have both used solely English audio since their first games.
