Why do all the recent Raphael toys come with him holding his sai's like that? He usually holds them by the handle. Also, if you are there, pick up Prowl. After market prices are already high.

There is no way Prowl's (initial) retail price should be more than MP Thundercracker's or Acid Storm's. Unless he comes with the Amazon exclusive launchers or some other accessory, I foresee clearance.

$70 for the North American release of MP Prowl? Please tell me that's a misprint. If not, collectors might as well start ordering the Takara versions:
- almost same price, maybe even cheaper through some sites
- get to experience the figure months to a year before NA release, and
- you can order at your convenience online instead of stalking stores on shipment day

But I certainly can't complain about the price of Sunstorm.

Too bad about Prowl's price. Looks like TRU is making the same mistake with these MPs that they made with the Commemorative reissues. Oh well, I'll buy it anyway...

those turtles look nothing like the movie, i would have never guessed they were meant to be that version had the article not mentioned it. the heads totally look like a cartoon. the movie figures they made back in the day looked closer and they looked bad themselves.

i guess the bodies and "gear" sorta looks the same but in this age of great sculpts, i'm surprised they couldnt make them look way more screen acurate.

Yeah the heads on the Turtles are ridiculous looking. I have the 4 classics. Those are fantastic. But these 4 wont be joining them.

I agree with the horrible turtle head sculpts, but trust me they're not as bad as the old "movie star" ones with freckles haha.

When I first saw the sizes of Prowl and Sideswipe in person I couldn't believe they want that price for such tiny mp figures. And now I've waited and waited for this TRU version to be cheaper and it's basically the same price. Looks like I'll wait longer and buy a takara opened box prowl on ebay. Dammit TRU

Raph may or may not "usually" hold them by the handle, but the pose is still pretty iconic.
Here is an image from issue #1 where he is holding the Sai's like that:

Bleh... I want to support the MP line... I do... but, come on man... charging the SAME PRICE as the import price from Japan? Are you insane? I would have expected $45, and would probably pay $50... but why on Earth would I pay $70, when I can just go on ebay or some random online toystore and get one now, without having to worry about hunting it down in TRU??

Plus, let's face it... there are some high quality KOs out there. If this is the TRU plan, I see no reason to wait on Bluestreak or Smokescreen... might as well just get the knock offs. They lost the shot at my money.

I got mine for even cheaper last September when it first came out. ¥4,640 (which is approximately $47 USD). It shipped with 3 other figures via EMS for about $24. So I basically paid $53 for my Masterpiece Prowl.

I think paid about $15 shipped for each of the missile launchers so $83 was my total for a Takara Masterpiece Prowl with 2 missile launchers.

I agree, I know I have been doing this since MP-08 Grimlock (with the exception of MP-10). But I can say that I, and many others outside of Japan, have (or had) the expectation of buying locally and at cheaper prices.

I also realize that there are SEVERAL MP releases that aren't going to be wide releases, like the Black Rodimus or Tigertrack releases. So, yeah I'll keep buying Takara and only buy the Hasbro versions if there are differences.

I've been ordering from AmiAmi or HLJ for awhile now, but sometimes I either miss out on the preorder time (they do go quickly) or for pieces I think will be larger I'll go domestic because the shipping might outweight the savings.

Honestly, I was thinking Hasbor Prowl would go about $50. Considering we've been able to purchase Hot Rod, Grimlock, and various seekers for $70 - 80 a piece. I find this pricing strange and can only hope that this is just for SDCC. I say "hope" not for myself but for other fans who don't have this figure yet. What's done is done, and I've had MP Prowl on my shelf like several of you for some time now. I have at least one friend who I've recently gotten into Masterpiece. I may have to start doubling up my foreign orders so we can both achieve savings.

It's possible that these prices are only for SDCC and that Hasbro is trying to get more money from the people who aren't necessarily TF fans and who might not realize that these are excessively overpriced and aren't SDCC exclusives.

A War is coming in 2015... Combiner Wars!

As previously rumoured/reported Hasbro will be rolling out new versions of Superion and Menasor and both teams will come with a sixth member providing extra armor or weaponry!

Thanks to eagle eyed General Tekno over on the TFW2005 boards, the previously shown Generations Voyager Optimus Prime could be just a cheeky repaint of 2015 Combiner main man Motormaster!
I will let the General explain...

General Tekno wrote:So that core robot on the Menasor is DEFINITELY the new Voyager Prime mold we got teased back at Botcon. The back view of the combined mode makes it pretty obvious.
Also, I'm gonna guess that the Legends addon dudes for the combiners (Menasor's chest car, Superion's powergun) will come with the hands/feet, on account of the hands/feet being completely different colors than the limbs. (And no way they'd paint those given the moving parts)

Interesting!

Are there seriously rotor blades on Superion's legs? I'm a really big Aerialbots fan, and having one of them be a helicopter is so far removed from what is okay in my mind. Not to be the one guy complaining, but that really gets to me :-x
These look like really early prototypes though, so I hope that's not finalized

You know, for $15 - $25 toy releases, I think they look pretty alright, aside from some wonky posing. I don't expect them to look like the third party few hundred dollar releases, because they, well aren't, I think the hasbro samples look good so far.

Ladies and gentlemen, put on your anti-nerdgasm pants on! Starting off our coverage of San Diego Comic Con 2014, we have our Breakfast Event images, which show off our first look at combiners Superion (first teased at BotCon last month) and Menasor! These combiners, part of next year's Generations: Combiner Wars series, are prototypes and show display pieces, hence the hot glue on spots and some wibbly bits and pieces here and there.

As many have guessed, Menasor's central figure is indeed a Motormaster redeco of the Generations Voyager Optimus Prime (also first revealed at BotCon) figure! Also worth noting is that Superion and Menasor are joined by additional characters which are not actually a part of the traditional Aerialbot and Stunticon teams... Superion wields Legends Powerglide as a weapon, and Menasor uses an as-of-yet revealed Legends buddy to form Menasor's traditional car-torso-shield!

Check out the images below, which have been mirrored from our full gallery of the Breakfast Event, which can be viewed here!

I like Superion. I think I'm ready to retire FansProject's Superion in favour of this.

I do not like Menasor. I will keep FP's.

I'm curious to see the rest of the reveals... under an hour to go.

These two are a step in the right direction, but not characters I particularly care about so I'll be passing on them.

I quite like the idea of Legends figures lending some support.

Not bad. It'll be interesting to see how they look transformed properly, especially Superion's arms...are they that long or can they be configured better? :-? Superion's legs look hella silly though #-o

Time to put my negative nancy hat on-I'm super miffed Motormaster is a prime re-paint! :-x MM should be his own bot. Proper miffed and cheesed off now
.....

Wait...does that mean Prime can combine with things? Does that mean if I make a Thunderclash from Prime...he could combine with things....?

Miffed status alleviating slightly...

It doesn't look like Motormaster is a redeco of the Generations Voyager Optimus Prime - the hinges and configurations are all wrong - but I could be wrong.

Menasor's blue chest gun looks a lot like G1 Skyhammer's gun, though...

Want to see what they look like as individuals. They don't look that bad combined but I'm not real interested in either one.

(Also secretly hoping this leads to a Predaking down the line. I'll buy the crap out of an affordable Predaking.)

Makes sense and it only reinforces the fact that Optimus will be forever tied to his rival. >:oP

I'm not that miffed about as I have Henkei Convoy already and thus have a separate entity from Motorbreath. Remember, AoE Evoution 2-pack for those that don't ;)

And I'm predicting 4 teams, given that Hasbro has said there will be 16 Deluxes in all.

Not really digging Menasor, but that's okay because I never really liked him anyway. Superion's looking pretty cool. Once he comes out I'll probably move the FP one to the Energon shelf where it sort of belongs.

I'd say Superion, Menasor, Defensor, and a Bruticus that doesn't suck are most likely. Still gonna hope for Predaking.

These are the most encouraging things I've seen since the announcement of Metroplex. A serious step in the right direction. Bravo! :APPLAUSE:

I seriously see myself using that Superion, and expect it to not look at all out of place amongst my 3rd Party combiners. Finally - an Autobot combiner for my collection (I've been lukewarm on the 3rd Party ones). I think I'll hold onto my FP M3/Intimidator for now. Honestly, my biggest nitpick with Hasbro's version are the horns. They're a bit off. I'll still pick up the Menasor set for their bot modes, though.

I definitely think "Combiner Wars" is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Hasbro taking it to the 3rd Parties. This is awesome.

I don't think we'll be getting the Protectobots as there's a set of them already in the works. The Combaticons... too soon after FoC? :-?
