Rated X wrote:Im still trying to get why they couldnt have made this a transforming mold ? Hollowout the legs so they fold in, flip the arms up, rotate the cannons, tail flips out from behind, remove the head, and a scorpion head attaches in its place. How hard could it be ? I can understand no city mode, but no scorpion mode is plain stupid.
Because they are not Takara and it's not what they do.

Sabrblade wrote:Yeah, it's not that their incapable of making these transform into Scorpion Modes. It's the bureaucracy on of it all that legally prohibits them from doing so.
Its stuff like this that spawned the existance of 3rd parties in the first place. I could easily see an up and coming company buy one just to reverse mold it and retool it to transform...
And they'll sell it like 200 bucks less and ill buy one.

Sabrblade wrote:There's also the possibility that maybe they just didn't want to make it transform, instead wanting to make a giant articulated action figure, one that's never been done before.
True, but those figures are going to take up alot of real estate in warehouses if they didnt read the fans correctly. BBTS changed their system so you cant tell how many of one item they have in stock. But when you could, I remember a lot of items over $500 they would only keep 10 or less in stock. I dont see the retailers taking risk with this in great numbers. Just my opinion.

BUT.
five hundred bucks? seriously? hes the same size as fort max and generations metroplex, they transform, and cost half that. and im betting when those two 3rd party scorponoks hit the market, these things will be even more redundant.

They already did. Back in 1987.Delta Magnus wrote:Wow, those new photos look amazing. Here's to hoping they make a Fort Max to go with him.
These are meant to go with the original G1 mold due to their size matching that of that toy.

*SMACK*
What I meant was a fully-poseable "anime proportions" one- G1 Fort Max is great for his time (and goes well with this) but his articulation is nothing to write home about and he's a little...tubby.

So you don't have:
-G1 Action Masters
-PVCs - SCF/Heroes of Cybertron/MyClones
-Robot Heroes
-Attacktix
-statues (Hard Hero)
-busts (Hard Hero)
-Revoltech
-Robot Replicas
-Hero Mashers
-Kreons
-3" Titaniums
-BW 10th Anniversary Transmutate

If only it had been TakaraTomy themselves who made this instead of Sentinel C. Ltd.Samsonator wrote:As impressive a piece as this is, and it certainly is, it seems a shame that it doesn't transform. It's not like G1 Scorponok has a terribly complex transformation to begin with. All it woulda taken wad maybe 3 or 4 more joints to at least give him a scorpion mode.
Guess we just gotta wait for a MP Scorponok.

Too bad they want way too much for that monstrosity, or I'd be on board. Although, if it can articulate, it's a shame it doesn't transform at least into scorpion and Lord Zarak modes. I don't think that's asking for too much; the G1 Scorponok isn't very complex..
Yeah. This. For the amount they want, at least let the head Transform.

The budget went all into the articulation, the size and the amount of die cast metal.

Interesting how the box says "GIGANTIC ACTION SCORPONOK" in English, yet in Japanese says "Gigantikku Akushon Kyōfu Taitei MegaZarakku)" ("Gigantic Action Emperor of Terror MegaZarak")
