The line's had some rather odd repaints since the first wave, like a purple and black Grimlock. A random green Grindor redeco who is apparently a new character isn't much new.

Because tis not Grindor, its Chopter, a brand new character.

God bless, Jason Scott Irelan
it has value in your heart if you love it. That is the case with practically all transformers toys. What's this question has to do with the topic tho?
Posted by MrBlack on May 16th, 2017 @ 9:22am CDT
That was a mistake.
The alt-mode is a panel-y mess that is a nightmare to line up properly, and the front bumper on the toy won't peg in at all. Both weapons were warped out of the box, and storage in either mode is awful. The weapons just hang off the figure's back in bot-mode, and there isn't enough clearance under the vehicle to store them in alt-mode. On top of that, the heel spurs barely have enough friction to keep the figure standing, and the arm panels constantly fall off.
I have never thrown a figure across the room in frustration before. This one got thrown twice.

Wellllllll..I'm leaning towards voyager Optimus, but I really want a better deco. Megatron, probably in voyager and leader if there's a good amount of difference.william-james88 wrote:Which ones do you want? Actually, it doesn't matter, voyager and leader for different reasons!
Leader to go with Armor Knight, voyager to go with voyager Optimus and other voyager Megatrons so they can voyage while voyagering.
New Bumblebee. Others..?! Any cool Decepticons coming? Maybe I should read some TLK toy news again..
No real "budget" per se. I mean, I'm not gonna buy errything

Yeah, Nitro looks like a cool Decepticon, and Skullitron looks cool too. Aside from those, the other decepticons already came out (Barricade and Berserker, who may or may not actually be in the film).
Thats about it for cons though.
And you are smart to wait to see if there will be a better voyager Optimus deco.
I was about to write that I cant believe we havent gotten info on store exclusives yet but then I realized that those always come later and come out later too. I checked and the Walmart exclusives only started coming out in august. AUGUST?!
Anyways, back to toys you might get, I thought Sqweeks would be on your list. He looks worth the money, more so than most.

I thought it was that the toy wsa indeed cogman. He is still odd since that toy has him turn into a car but we know the bot is a headmaster and as big as a human. So people werent entirely sure (and technically we still arent sure of how that all plays out).

Well you just said he is a head master so clearly he has his own transactor body right?
But in all seriousness Cogman is the silver Aston Martin that's been rolling with the Autobots during filming or at least a body he uses at some point perhaps it's a KSI body built by Joshua since he is in the film as well and we don't know what his role is but that's speculation on my part.

I wonder if we will get some figure (Main line or Turbo charger) of the red Mclaren that's been rolling with Bee, Hot Rod and Cogman in the London filming it's probably a new character but for now I'm holding on hope that it's Dino/Mirage with a new alt mode since it's the same bright red and has a similar shape the Ferrari from DOTM had.

But thats the wierd thing, only looking at what Michael bay said, Cogman doesnt have his own transtector body. Instead he ripps off heads to become a new one.
As I said, I wont offer any speculation to further confuse anyone. I will instead report only the facts, and that toy being cogman is now a fact

I mean I'm sure that he will do that to some enemies no doubt but I think he's got to have a primary body as well for all those merchandise right can't exactly sell Cogman toys with only a transforming head that doesn't connect to anything right?
I kinda hope he gets something that is interactive with Titans Return though.

He died in AOE. No, wait, that was Headcanon Lockdown.
Chopter is a weird name, sounds like something a 3 year old would say. It's like a mix between chopper and copter. The name reminds me of "chiroptera", the order of animals that bats belong to.
Still going to call him Springer.

The Decepticons having a smaller group of defined characters is good not only because each Decepticon is their own character with a name but also since the Creators are the main antagonists or at least the greater threat having an army of Decepticons would just clog up the movie like how the army of KSI bots did in AOE.
Does any one think that Nitro might also be fairly important since he is the only one of the known Decepticon group besides Megatron and Barricade to receive their own main line figure while Onslaught, Hooligan and Mohawk the latter who doesn't seem to be a reuse of a previous con cgi model do not have their own figures?

Hasbro does feel a need slap faction symbols on everyone (Unicron sure isn't a Decepticon), but it is a good indicator of their alignment (good or evil). And since Skullitron is most likely not in the movie to begin with we're left believing he's just another Decepticon until some fiction says otherwise.

The Dinobots aren't Autobots in the movies. They are Cybertron Knights. Yet they add the Autobot symbols to the toys to tell you their orientation of character. So yes, I agree.

Yeah and Infernocus has Autobot symbols despite the trailer clearly showing them to be a bunch of monsters.

It's a packaging thing and Skullitron is clearly one of the same knights Steelbane is part of so he can't be related to Megatron's Decepticons unless he joins them in the movie and it could always just a a two pack with Bomber Megatron or someone else.
Also character's without factions have been labeled as one or the other in their toys such as Lockdown and packaging mistakes are also a thing look at Tr Soundwave and Broadside's faction symbols on the top of their boxes.

There's like dozens of those knights in the film I'm pretty sure one of them is Skullitron or he is based off one of them even if he goes unnamed.
He's more likely to be in the film then Berserker.

Also, this whole faction thing may be just strange, but we can't put it past Steelbane and Infernicus to be bots (or good guy aligned). The monsters that look like Infernicus are charging a purple eyed Prime, making me think they are meant to be good guys attacking an evil Prime, just dying in the process. And Steelbane appears to be the character on that one movie poster, so he could be considered good too. Just like how Skullitron could be the bad guy version of Steelbane seen punching Prime in trailers, hence bad guy aligned.
Also, I watched the Emgo review of Steelbane last night and he is a definite nope

The ones on the sides of the TR boxes are indeed all

Depends on how they play up the whole Autobot origin thing with Quintessa. If she considers herself the Autobot matriarch it would make sense for Infernocus to have an Autobot symbol even if he's evil.

That's not a packaging error. Waves 1 and 2 had Autobot symbols on all of the boxes, 3 and on have had Decepticon symbols.

Not one of the specific ones shown, no, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a knight in the past.
Skullitron and Steelbane are clearly part of the same group considering the trailers and their boxes both giving them the same jobs.
That doesn't mean they stayed on the same side in the story. Again, the leader of the Decepticons is also a knight of Cybertron, it doesn't prove anything.

They aren't random and appear in two specific spots on the box where the character isn't shown. Show me the back of any wave 1 or 2 Premier figure box that has the wrong faction symbol behind the character and I'll concede that Skullitron and Infernocus have the wrong symbols behind them.

For those with a Westfield shopping centre near them, some people have been seeing this week, two short promo videos on their advertising screens, for the Transformers movie, featuring Deluxe Bumblebee (in one) and Voyager Optimus (in the other).
Both promo clips go for 10 seconds, starting off with the movie logo and its release date in Australia (June 22nd)... then it shows the feature character, morphing from the recent 3D movie promos on facebook into their first wave toy... running and transforming into vehicle mode, then transforming back to take place in a line-up of the six Deluxe and Voyager wave 1 toys.
These promo clips might show up on youtube or facebook by Hasbro or Paramount, but here is a taping of the two clips that I took today at the Garden City Westfield (outside Target)..

DOTM is shorter and skinnier than I remember. I still love his leg transformation (very unique amongst Optimus toys) but the arms are clunky). When all three are side by side (pics coming later, maybe), the newest one is the beefiest, most imposing and more sparkly. But holding them all, the AOE voyager is easily the better toy for me. He feels so good as a poseable toy and as a transformer. He has less kibble than either and feels far more solid. Nothing unpegs, which is kind of amazing when you realize that his torso is just made up of free floating bits of the truck. Its really miraculous how you get such a solid connection. Him not being a shellformer in any way really makes him stand out and the elbows arent as bad as I remembered. plus the paint on the evolution one I have is plentiful.
I think I like him best followed by the new TLk voyager with DOTM taking a back seat 9but I did still like him back when I got him).
