The coloured version makes it very clear that Blaster is a concert of sorts, with speakers, sound desks and even a band.
Whether or not this cover has anything to do with the content inside the issue or not remains to be seen.

Soundwave has already had his own issue! Spotlight: Soundwave came out earlier in the year.

...Just kidding. This is a great piece! I love it when they put Blaster and Soundwave in realistic musical situations. Why is SlamDance on Bass? and who are the other two mysterious Guitar-Bots? Come to think of it, a Cybertronian Rock Band must use some serious sound equipment! I wonder what the guitar Center on Cybertron is like(*chuckle*) But seriously, MarkerGuru must pay for leaving out the drummer. I'll shoot one of my concussion missiles at him!

I though the cassettebot 'pre-powerlink' combiner was Grandslam and Raindance making Slamdance...Leonardo wrote:I think they're Twincast's combiner cassettes.Sentinel Pax wrote:Who are Decibel and Legout?

Ooh...I thought they were both combiners...maybe TFU.info has some information.

it sorta does... Legout and Decible are likely the repaints like Soundblaster then... given ther function.Leonardo wrote:AxiomScion wrote:I though the cassettebot 'pre-powerlink' combiner was Grandslam and Raindance making Slamdance...Leonardo wrote:I think they're Twincast's combiner cassettes.Sentinel Pax wrote:Who are Decibel and Legout?

Yes, I couldn't find any pictures to be certain. I do note, however, that TFU.info doesn't say that they are recolours of a pre-existing mold, though, and there seems to be no mention of one combining with the other.
The TF Wiki says this of Legout, "Legout is the younger brother of Decibel. What relationship this gives his components Dial and Zaur to Decibel is unclear," and this of Decibel, "Decibel is the older brother of Legout. What relationship this gives his components Noise and Graphy to Legout is unclear, possibly they're half-siblings. Ha!"
They must be combined forms of smaller robots (Dial & Zaur and Noise & Graphy, respectively). I thought that Legout and Decibel combined but it appears I was mistaken.

So did I. Wondered what there combined name was too. Deciout, Legibel, Outibel or Belout...Leonardo wrote:AxiomScion wrote:it sorta does... If they are from 1987 I'ld think the cassette mold would have been used outside of Japan once. Then again, there are a few cassettecons (though they could be 4 bots) that price over $400 and i've only really heard there names once on this board...
I guess it's possible.

Looking at the cover, Decibel is to the left of Slamdance.

Those would be the four $400 cassettebots then. surprisingly they've been applied for on the Seib's RPG here with psuedo reference links.i_like_starscream wrote:From J.E. Alvarez's "The Unofficial Guide to Japanese and International Transformers," Decibel is formed by Gurafi (pterosaur) & Noizu (t-rex), while Legout is formed by Dairu (brontosaurus) & Zauru (lizard). The book has a few pics of Decibel, Gurafi, & Noizu, but none of Legout/Dairu/Zauru. The book makes no mention of whether Decibel's components can interchange with Legout's.

good find

No but there may have only been about 1000 of each made. With easily twice that number of Soundwave/ Broadcast fans among the collector community they could be considered the holy grail of TF Cassettes.Auto Bot wrote:Is that made of gold?

Auto Bot wrote:Combiners? You mean these cassettes combines like Devastator?
Yes and No.
They combine more like the Energon Powerlinking combination, rather than a Gestalt combining.

Two dino cassettes combine into one mini dinobot. Not in Grimlock's ranks though
