2x Dark of the Moon Bumblebee
3x Revenge of the Fallen Sideways
3x Arcee
If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.
This sighting was originally posted here.
We also have reviews for Arcee and Sideways if you want to get to know more about those toys before picking them up.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:Sideways is a bot of many hats. Herald of Unicron, glorified movie cameo, and Master Yogi to name a few. As far as I can tell this isn't a licensed car, which is ok as it allows for more wiggle room with the design and it shows. This is one of the few car transformers I didn't struggle with getting panels lined up and pegged into place. Robot mode is squat and lanky but once you have the legs bent properly they hold Sideways up well and it's pretty posable. If you've been looking for some of the more obscure characters from the live-action movies to get a figure, Sideways is a solid purchase.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:When Studio Series 86 Arcee was originally announced, many fans thought it would be a slight repaint of the current Earthrise mold that has been re-released in the Kingdom line. Well SS86 Arcee is a heavy retool of the older 30th-anniversary mold that results in the best G1 Arcee we've gotten to date, it's by no means perfect though. Transformation is a bit more involved than you would think, especially when you realize that having enough clearance in vehicle mode is a difference of millimeters. Car mode is the closest to the G1 animation I've seen, I'm very impressed with how the designers were able to pull it off. Unfortunately, there is still a sizable backpack to deal with in robot mode, but the joints are tight enough for now to handle it. There are plenty of better Arcee toys, but if you're looking for a pure G1 experience this is the best you can do.

But isn't what you're saying a version of "All black car looks like the Ford Model T"? I know my twist of your statement is kinda extreme, but... I mean, to me, I can't see much similarity of the Batwing in "Dark Knight Rises" (Bale) vs. "Batman v Superman) (Affleck) vs. the 1989 Burton/Keaton version other than they're all black.
Same thing about the Batmobiles through the ages. Some changes are more evolutional (cosmetic tunings), but some are drasticall different in style, it's revolutional.
Or maybe you mean since you consider there's only one Batman (created by Kane in the 1939), all the Batmen in various medium (comics, TV, movie, video games, etc.) & eras (1939 to today) is basically the same one Batman (OK, we're talking Bruce Wayne here, not the other wannabes/stand-ins for simplicity of argument). So likewise there's just one Batwing as a vehicle just drawn differently? Hmmmm... interesting thought.

Oh, OK I see now, you lumped all those bat aircrafts as Batwings. I never considered them as such (which I realize may be innacurate to do so). They were just other Batplanes or Bat vehicles to me, with the Batwing being only what we saw in the Burton film and the animated series based on the same design/world.

@Sabrblade, looking at that it seems the numbers are wrong on the TFwiki page (looking at the more recent entries, Bumblebee Ironhide is SS84 for instance, ect)

LOL, I guess, it's true enough that there's more or less *A* Batwing (and maybe a spare or two as standbys) at any one time, in a particular medium/timeline, there's no singular *The* Batwing though. I mean, even in the comics, Batman wrecked enough Batmobiles to come up with a newly designed Batmobile the next day.
Kind of like there are iterations/generations of [insert your fav car model] designs. Same lineage, not the same vehicle.
Comics... it's always messy.

Not really. You may not like him (and that is your right to an opinion) but at the same time, you do have to get over yourself and accept reality, that Bee is a large part of the franchise, bringing new fans into what we love.

Exactly, it's far easier (and healthier) to just accept it and move on to something you enjoy thinning about.

But most kids these days are more familiar with the live action movies then G1 (which I guess you're implying since you have a low opinion of the live action stuff. It gets confusing when you say the names but could be talking about vastly different characters).
My son would respond the same as Wills', he loves Bee but Prime has no bearing with him.

I was the same. As a kid in the 80s, I never identified with "kid characters", especially Bumblebee. But I and my peers must have been in the minority. I don't have a single BB in my collection ( I would have picked up origins if I saw it at that clearance price), but the fact is, BB sells. Other than when TRU way over ordered a couple select items , BB has generally always sold well. He has way more studio series releases than any other character, yet they don't seem to shelf warm.
Trust me. It took me a while to realize, my personal indifference towards BB ( and other people's disdain) dosen't reflect the majority of kids who are ( or their parents are) buying these toys for them

In my youth, I did identify with Cheetor, since he was a kid like me. But unlike most of the other kid-appeal characters, he actually underwent an arc of growth and maturation over a natural period of time, growing up along with the young viewers who were watching at the time. Those who would have watched Beast Wars as teenagers would have finished Beast Machines as young adults, just like Cheetor started and finished over the course of his development arc. But I was still a kid by then, too, so, well I did still think he was cool as a kid, his arc didn't really vibe with me until I rewatched both shows as a teenager some years later.o.supreme wrote:RodimusPrimeUkraine1 wrote:william-james88 wrote:This is how my kid sees it

How did I know you'd say that? I was reffereing to the idea of kids all liking bumblebee, not what your kid beleives. I'm sure you know your child
If Bumblebee starting resembling and acting like his generation one counterpart, I'd probably begin to see a bit of something in him. His personality sure changed, even if he's always been the kid appeal.

EvasionModeBumblebee. Dude seems pretty young, wouldn't be surprised if Bayverse is all they collect. You'll have to make peace with the fact that newer generations will tend to prefer newer iterarions of Transformers, lol. I'm one of the younger Beast Wars babies, and I'm getting close to my thirties. So most youngish fans are into Bayverse or Prime.

Hi there! I'm EvasionModeBumblebee and yep, I only make Bay movie customs! xD
The Bay films are what got me into Transformers and still what I'm most passionate about in TF, and getting to paint these figures up has been a total blast. I'm actually working on SS DOTM Bumblebee right now, it's my favorite design for Bee so I've been looking forward to it for a very long time! I'll post my thoughts on the figure in general this weekend when I upload the custom.
But yeah, Bumblebee is my favorite character! Specifically the Bayverse version.
Also, while we're talking about the newest SS deluxe wave, it's weird that Amazon still hasn't released Sideways when I've had Bee and Galvatron for a while now, and now he's showing up in stores. Hopefully Amazon sends it soon!

Thank you very much! Yep, I started sticking to just Bayverse when Studio Series started. I still really like other parts of Transformers (Prime and the Cybertron games in particular), but Bayverse is really what I enjoy the most.

Hello. I dislike the bay films out of their originality and my beliefs as a Christian.
But out of casual conversation and trying to prove that I'm not constantly rude to everyone, what do you enjoy about the micheal bay movies? I enjoy the Generation One because it came first, and the sheer simplicity of the designs, easy to draw.

I think the big thing for me are the robot designs, especially from the first 3 films. I love the complexity and detail that makes them look more mechanical (and the way the parts shift as they move is so cool to see, especially on bots like Starscream). That's a big part of why Studio Series has been my favorite line, they've captured the detail and proportions of those designs excellently.
I don't want to go derailing the thread too far, but the other things I really enjoy are the action sequences (the choreography, movement, and sound design for them is just spectacular), Steve Jablonsky's amazing score, and coming from a military family I really enjoyed the military presence in the films. They filmed the movies on bases I lived on, using vehicles I got to see every now and then like the F-22 and CH-53. They used actual military service members for parts of the films, one of my robotics team mentors on base voiced one of the F-22 pilots in the 07 movie, and they reused one of his lines in DOTM.
It was also what introduced me to Transformers, so there's a lot of nostalgia there for me as well!

In the first movie, Sam guilt-tripped his teacher into giving him an A- on his very poorly-done genealogy report by saying "What would Jesus do?"
In Revenge of the Fallen, Epps tried to have a profound moment by wondering the following about Optimus: "You gotta wonder, if God made Man in His image, who made him?"
And in Age of Extinction, the Autobots and their three human allies hide out in an old abandoned church before infiltrating KSI.
I think that's everything, but I might be forgetting some things.

Yes, you are forgetting all the temptation brought about by the lascivious women, talk of masterbation, and suggestions of premarital sex, including by a minor, plus drug use. More puritan than outright Christian but both go hand in hand in the ways some people choose to follow their faith. The G1 cartoon, being strictly for kids, has no sexuality.

I wouldn't suggest joining a monastery in Quebec though, that's where many young men lose their virginity. (ok, I'm done with the jokes now)

WOW, it's almost as if those Transformers films were made with you in mind. Pretty cool to be entrenched in it as much as you were.
To answer other questions: "Porn" itself is not a swear word, so it's fine to use, but talking about the topic itself at length would have no business here in a transformers forum. So far I see no wrong doing though, so carry on all.

Simply put, Bayverse is why I am here and is my favorite part of Transformers.
On a toy related note, I did get BBM Arcee, and hopefully DotM Bee and BBM Ironhide should be shipping soon. I hope Sideways comes in stock soon too, I am stoked for him.
Arcee is pretty dang good. I love the heel wheels, and the design itself is so good. This is a great Arcee design

I could add that it's one of the best Arcee ever. Perfect design all over, she got that overall G1 look, she got the perfect cyber vehicle mode, and she barely have any backpack.
Stellar.

So would assume it's Megatron, Starscream, Brawl, Bonecrusher and Barricade. Pricing might be weird compared to the Autobot pack (since you're talking about 4 voyagers and a deluxe, as opposed to the Autobot's 2 voyagers and 3 deluxes), but its possible they offset the price somehow with less paint apps, less accessories compared to the original releases, etc.
If they AREN'T trying to match the first movie, but try to match the same sizes, could be more interesting. Megatron and Starscream are almost guarantees as the voyagers, so then it just becomes a question of who the deluxes are. Maybe Soundwave, Barricade and Sideways?

I'd buy them in an instant... Maybe they could even do a Unicron Trilogy Autobot and Decepticon 5-pack?

I added a few new DOTM details that the original was missing, like the collar pieces and the new yellow pieces that sit on the shoulders. Also painted the silver trim around the taillights, I really like how that turned out. As always, if you want to see more you can check out my customs page!
As for my thoughts on the figure as a whole, the retooling they did was pretty incredible. The only things carried over from SS-49/74 in alt mode were the doors and windshield/roof pieces. I love that they even added the new exhaust pipes! Bot mode retooling is good too, I really like how the new chest piece was done. The biggest issue with the figure is that it's pretty loose right out of the box, not just the ball joints but the whole door wing/shoulder wheel assembly as well. The paint fixed that all up, but it is a little weird since that isn't a problem I've had with the others I've had of this mold. They also reverted to the brighter rally yellow instead of SS-74's more accurate orange-yellow for some reason, but I was also able to (kinda) fix that. Besides that though, this is a great retool to the already phenomenal SS-49 mold and I'm so glad to finally have a Studio Series DOTM Bee in my collection!
