I wish they had never shown us what Soundwave's alt mode was supposed to look like, makes the figure look 10x worse.

Damn, I came here t make that joke but with the "what I ordered vs what I got" from Wish joke.
Glad to know what they were going for, too bad they couldn't pull it off.

I thought we already knew that.

Getting techno bots feel from arcee and she is potential buy for me.
Wheeljack alt mode is another pass and the bot mode still doesn't have his chest contours.
Can't say I like the heads on most of these tho.

https://youtu.be/BwVrUJ1trLU?t=728 looking at this video... and I don't know if anyone has the official instructions in hand yet... but if that 'canopy' for the vehicle mode can be pulled up and forward over the middle section... it'd be a lot closer to the concept material... as it is... I really don't know why they chose to transform the back the way they did considering what they were supposed to be shooting for... oh well....

Hi, it's because there's been an editorial change regarding how we at Seibertron deal with leaked figure reviews. As a compromise so we could still bring these figures to the attention of the fans, while also listening to concerns from some fans about how these toys came into the hands of these reviewers. To this end we won't be posting the link to the review anymore, and instead provide screengrabs.
For those that want the to watch the reviews, regardless of how toys were obtained then you certainly won't need our help in finding them (indeed PrimeVsPrime posts his own in the Transformers review section of these very forums).
Please continue to send the reviews into the site though, just be aware that we won't be newing the review as is anymore.

I have to admit, I kind of agree, I wouldn't mind half as much that we keep getting G1 season 1 characters over and over again, if they applied some creative licensing to their designs

For me, THESE are what the Siege designs should have been. True CYBERTRONIAN modes, no "Earth modes with gribbles" nonsense.

I see that point, but at the same time I would really like updates on Robots in Disguise and the Unicron trilogy soon. Why doesn't Hasbro realize what a cash cow that would be for them?Hellscream9999 wrote:First-Aid wrote:Ok, if we are to be stuck getting G1/G1-like figures for all eternity (which seems likely anymore because, you know, imagination is kind of rare at Hasbro), THIS is what I want. I'm honestly of the opinion that most of the original Cybertron molds were as good as, if not better than, today's figures, and would be perfectly content with simple reissues of those molds rather than updates, however unlikely that is to happen.Rtron wrote:Updating Cybertron is going to be a nightmare for the designers, because of the Cyber Key gimmicks. If Walmart have an exclusive line of G1 and OG Beast Wars reissues, I don't see why that wouldn't be the same for Armada, Energon, and Cybertron.

If that were the case couldn't they just simply reissue Galaxy Convoy instead of giving us a new version in Siege? Conversely, cant they give us updated versions of the other characters, like they did with that Prime?Sabrblade wrote:I'm honestly of the opinion that most of the original Cybertron molds were as good as, if not better than, today's figures, and would be perfectly content with simple reissues of those molds rather than updates, however unlikely that is to happen.Rtron wrote:Updating Cybertron is going to be a nightmare for the designers, because of the Cyber Key gimmicks. I think it might be a question of finances, as the Cybertron figures would no longer meet the size class system of today. If they did do that, it would have to be separately like they're doing with the original Beast Wars molds.

Yeah, you basically answered your own question. Cybertron Optimus Prime would easily be Commander class given his thicker plastic, spring loaded parts and missiles, electronics and overall size. They were able to do those Prime RID Japanese reissues at very reasonable prices and at least the Beast Wars reissues match current prices for the same or equivalent-ish size classes (still don't understand Rattrap being the same price as Cheetor). Maybe Cybertron Optimus could get away with a $65 price point. Armada Optimus on the other hand would definitely being the $80 or more range thanks to have involved his electronics are, not just the whole self transforming motorized trailer and LED in the fist, but also the infrared system.

Well if they would have introduced season 2 Autobots at the beginning of Bumblebee then maybe we would be getting versions of them instead? They did this because those are some of the core G1 S1 characters that keep getting pushed especially in these movies (since BB is a mild "reboot"). They are kind of following the original formula somewhat with S1 first, S2 2nd, etc etc.. I am just glad I am still able to buy quality TF's 37 years after they came out. Yes I know the main line released Cybertronian versions of some only to then remold them and sell them in their earth modes a year or so later and I did question that but I was still glad to get them.

I'm really curious to see if we'll see more off-screen characters in SS, I think Thundercracker was integrated really well.

You can store them on his hands and they end up looking like tailpipes. They were part of the transformation instructions for the earlier version, not the part at the end where they show weapon storage because you attach them to the arms before tabbing the arms all the way in. I'll grab a photo later today if I can.

I did try doing the hands thing, but the car would not rest on all 4 wheels.
Then as I saw Emgo's video, you can store the guns under the roof tabbed onto the "spine". The same place for robot mode. But it result in huge panel gaps.
Even if I'd put the guns away, it's still too frustrating to deal with. I'll either return it for a full refund, or get SS Jolt instead.

I don't disagree, but the problem is who? Assuming the selection would be from the last year, we have Hot Rod, Scourge, BB Starscream, BB Thrust, Sweep and Wreck-Gar. All the potential wave mates for Soundwave have been released recently enough to still be on shelves, or are retools of something currently on shelves. Thrust is clogging up most of the Targets by me. Wreck-Gar and Sweeps are on the shelves at all the Walmarts near me. Hot Rod is the only SS voyager mold not currently on the shelves in my area.
Scourge would be ideal since he was a single release and shortpacked to begin with, but the Sweeps are out currently making that difficult.
Posted by Rodimus Prime on December 15th, 2021 @ 11:00am CST
I also wondered, what if Scourge and Sweep got released in the same case? Is the different shade enough for people to tell the difference? Would seeing both induce someone to get both who was only planning on getting 1? Or would most people just see the same figure and just pick one?

I'm certain of it. It also makes up for the people who bought multiple scourges early on to make their sweeps before an actual sweep was released.

Is Thrust really rare and wanted? Seems like many G1 fans are poopooing him for his armada colour reference.
