He's shortpacked, so you will always see the other two more.
To answer the other question, optimus' wavemate is dotm megatron.

He was in wave 4 which it seems Walmart started restocking again as that wave just showed up at my local stores again as well. Guess they found some old warehouse stock.
LinaNui wrote:Who is his wave mate? Hopefully it is two of him, but I highly doubt it.
Megatron, to go with the half dozen already on the overflow shelf at one of my local Walmarts.

I already loved the TLK version but sold it cos I knew this one was coming and yay the shiny silver paint makes him even more beautiful.

Cheers. Yeah i'd forgotten just how much I like this mold and this new paint deco looks great. I wondering if KSI Boss is painted all shiny to match this Cogman cos Cog's head is now too shiny to really look right on Nitro Zeus.

Um. He's fine. Not overly loose or floppy at all. Not as stiff as some figures but everything stays where I put it and holds the poses well. Even if I did have any issues it's an easy fix but so far I have nothing to fix on him at all.

I mean, it's not like the SS one is so loose that it can't hold together or stand up, but that there's at least a very noticeable difference in how the TLK one was much tighter.Carnivius_Prime wrote:Sabrblade wrote:How are the joints on your Cogman? Also, reports say the SS one can't grip his sword tightly. Mine is the definitely the same in that regard.

What does that mean? I can pick up the whole figure by the sword and all that happens is his hand will fold down a bit into transformation mode because of the overall weight of the figure. The hand still grips the sword handle.

You must have gotten a rare good one, then. Most everyone else has reported getting mediocre ones.Carnivius_Prime wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Also, reports say the SS one can't grip his sword tightly. Mine is the definitely the same in that regard.

aw cool. yay for me. I wish I'd gotten a good Barricade. I had wondered why the torso on mine doesn't tab with the crotch area properly til I saw a close up photo of the tab part on someone else's figure and mine is actually missing the tiny lil piece that actually locks the parts. Doesn't even look broken, it's just not there and that's why if you try pick up my Barricade by his top half, his lower half will flop backwards. I've got workarounds for it but yeah I can understand being a bit disappointed when the figure you bought has issues that the same figure bought by someone else doesn't. Luck of the draw. :/

These all look awesome!
2007 Megatron! Yes!
A MUCH improved looking Shockwave plus mini-figures of Wheelie, Brains and a pratrooper! Yes!
An improved combining Mixmaster for our Devatstaor! Yes!
Frickin' huge Scavenger! Yes!
I want all four of these sets.
I'mma start saving.

Was suprised to see the paratrooper mind
Posted by Evil Eye on August 23rd, 2019 @ 11:15am CDT
Megatron, whilst I'm glad he has a 2007-based SS figure, looks a bit clumsy.
Shockwave...Hmm. The robot mode looks superb, though the colours are a bit off (they should be darker, a bit like the SS Grimlock with its dark plastic and metallic drybrushing). That alt mode though, yikes! The DOTM Voyager actually had a really nice alt mode, so this is a bit of a shame. Still, looks nice.

Megatron looks good, might get him.
Mixmaster and Demolishor/Scavenger look great, can’t wait to see the other two!
Studio Series is really shaping up to be a great line, wonder who else they’re going to revisit?

Black Hat wrote:That alt mode though, yikes! The DOTM Voyager actually had a really nice alt mode, so this is a bit of a shame. Still, looks nice.
I like this one more. It's similar but more spiky and I like that. Plus doesn't have that weird bit at the front I didn't like on the DotM voyager. Also I'm just glad the robot mode doesn't look so damn flat. I liked the voyager for the time but after seeing many cool figurines of Shockwave with the more curved accurate look I am so bloody happy there's an official toy coming out way more accurate than before.
I'm still wondering how we're gonna get Frenzy though. All the 2007 main bots been done now and he's not with any. Maybe a mini-figure pack with Sam, Mikaela and some troopers like Lennox and Epps to go with that paratrooper?
Posted by FrankTheJohnson on August 23rd, 2019 @ 11:33am CDT
I'd hate have to get shockwave jus to get Willie and Brains being that shockwave may not be as cool as he looks in this picture...
Posted by Carnivius_Prime on August 23rd, 2019 @ 11:38am CDT
Why the paratrooper missing from the Shockwave image?
Anyways yeah I love these. I gotta go now. Have fun.
Posted by EvasionModeBumblebee on August 23rd, 2019 @ 11:42am CDT
Megatron looks good, I’m staying with the DOTM version but he does still look impressive. Also, his chest piece is identical to the ROTF voyager, is it possible he’s a crazy remold?
Mixmaster and Scavenger look like great updates to their previous versions, They’re both possibilities, but I may wait to get them because. . .
SHOCKWAVE!!!
That’s now 3 out of my 4 most wanted SS figures in a single wave (new Camaro Bumblebee, DOTM Soundwave, and Shockwave), the only one missing is Sentinel. Anyways, Shockwave looks awesome! Wheelie and brains are nice additions, but I actually like the paratrooper more! I never would’ve expected it but it’s so cool that they included it. Actually, looking at it, I think Shockwave is a remold of ROTF megs. The head pokes out the front, and the tread pieces in Shockwave’s legs look very similar to those on Megatron. The visible arm is a little bit of a bummer, but other than that I think it’s way better than the old voyager vehicle mode. Can’t wait to have him!

Not to sound ungrateful. All of these look amazing. I would just consider Frenzy way more important than Igor or Scorponok. Same for Scalpel for that matter.

Maybe they'll do a Protoform or Dispensor? Unlikely but could happen.

As for the other 3, I think I will need to see the actual figures before I come to any conclusions. The renders don't do any favors for Mixmaster or Scavenger's mostly monochromatic paint jobs or faces (they could easily look better in person, see KSI Boss), I need to know if Mixmaster has a cannon mode and if I can enjoy the figure without having to see Devastator's face (I'm not doing the combiner thing), and I would really like a better look at Shockwave's size and alt mode. Right now it kinda just looks like Shockwave doing a painful yoga stretch, and the face on the front really doesn't help.
Also watch as Frenzy comes out later as part of an exclusive like Drift and the Mini-Dinobots.

Actually, now that you mention Dispensor, maybe the will release a set of all of those stupid little kitchen bots at the beginning of ROTF. Just, like, a disgusting-mutant Mini-con set or something.

Maybe tweak the new SS Bumblebee mold for the ROTF Camaro and throw in the kitchenbots, like the Drift/mini-dinobot pack.
For Frenzy, maybe we could get an exclusive icy repaint of Megatron with a Sector 7 Backdrop? That could be cool.

That's the only real thing I could think of. Icy Megatron is the only thing that is still missing from '07.
(Well, and Protoform robots, but I could REALLLLLLY go without those, personally)

I’m delighted to see that we’re getting a new movie Shockwave, and with so many minifigs!!
Being such a massive fan of Mixmaster’s old voyager toy, I’m pretty disappointed by what I’m looking at here. But i’ll just have to keep in mind that he’s part of a much larger Combiner. He’s just not what I was expecting. I’ll wait for some in hand images, and see if he grows on me.
As for that Megatron, I’m left feeling pretty underwhelmed. He looks like such a step down after his first two (three) entries in the SS line. I fully admit that I had very negative views on Dark of the Moon Megatron, until I gambled and bought him. I was very, very happy to be so wrong about him. Turns out it was an amazing figure, and I’m glad I took a chance on it. RotF Megatron looks very simple and unadorned to me. Hopefully I turn out to be wrong again.
Posted by YRQRM0 on August 23rd, 2019 @ 3:21pm CDT
Super excited for the constructicons, though Mixmaster looks kinda weak again imo. Doesn't seem like he'll have the cannon mode that the OG had, and still looks like he might fall over a lot. He was even knocked over in the display case. I guess it's a hard design to pull off in general, let alone with hidden Devy head. I hope he's got the Devastator head and there's no partsforming with Devastator. Wouldn't it be interesting though if the third torso figure had the head and no bot mode?
Posted by EvasionModeBumblebee on August 23rd, 2019 @ 3:25pm CDT
I also think I found out what it is I like so much about the 07 Megatron - the head sculpt. Something about the MPM head sculpt looks off to me, but the SS one looks perfect.
