Junior asks his dad, Lio Convoy, to buy him a Transformers toy, but he thinks they're way too expensive. Lio Convoy instead entertains his son for free by "transforming" his face into funny expressions, but once he's done lauging, Junior restates that he still wants a toy.
Later, Lio Convoy takes the 5000 yen intended for Junior's school lunches and claims he'll "transform" it 100 000 yen... by using it to gamble at the races. Instead, he ends up losing it all. Finding his dad sulking over his poor decisions in a park, Junior gently takes him back home and asks him to stop trying to transform their money.
The travels of Leo Prime, legendary warrior from the G1 world who once fought on future Earth, have brought him to the Legends Universe to defend it from their nefarious creators, the Zamojin. Determined to protect the people of this world as thanks for supporting him in his past battles, he engages in a space duel with Katsu Don, who believes their creation has gone wrong and that its continued existence is dangerous. The Zamojin uses Nijika to absorb Leo Prime's "beast power", reverting him to his original body and causing him to fall to the planet below, crashing into the home of Lio Convoy and Lio Junior. The two believe him to be the Transformers toy Junior has been wishing for lately, and it takes some convincing before they realize he's not just a big toy with a talking gimmick.
Leo Prime explains that he's come to fight the Zamojin and why: when the Transformers realized that their adventures manifested as TV programs in the Legends world, they felt encouraged by the cheers of the children watching them and persevered through many harsh battles as a result. (He wonders if a message he left for the kids in his last appearance reached them, a question that goes unanswered as the family doesn't own a TV.) Asked about the Zamojins' motives, he begins to explain that the Legends Universe was meant as an experiment in beast power, also known as Jūchōkon, an energy that was copied from beast Transformers like him and now exists within all Legends natives. He's interrupted when Katsu Don, having found him, rips into the house and begins draining Lio Junior's beast power, prompting the normally deadbeat Lio Convoy to come to his son's defense.
Noting Convoy's willingness to fight, Leo Prime reveals that as copies of Transformers, the people of the Legends world are able to tap into their ancestral memories and become proper Transformers themselves—what they think is "Transformers sickness" is actually them unlocking their true potential! He takes Lio Convoy's hand and helps expedite the process, transforming his copy into a giant robotic lion capable of taking on Katsu Don. By scanning Twincast, Leo Prime then adopts a Headmaster form and combines with Lio Convoy into a new robot mode, having confirmed from Lio's love for his son that they are indeed the same person and should have no problem combining. Using Lio Convoy's beast power, he unleashes a series of attacks that knocks Nijika out of Katsu Don's hands and sends the Zamojin fleeing, swearing revenge.
Leo Prime chooses to remain in the Legends Universe to protect it from further Zamojin attacks, living with his new friends at their new home, which is made up of Lio Convoy's new starship mode. Lio Junior's friends are greatly impressed by his cool house... until his dad embarrasses him by transforming into lion mode when he needs to use the bathroom.

I wouldn't count on it - Metroplex and Fort Max didn't get any other partners compared to their Hasbro versions, after all.
Funny thing actually; while Takara hasn't added any partners to Titans, all three of their Titan releases so far have added extra weapons...

My sentiments exactly since we still haven't gotten confirmation of a LG Sixshot, Overlord or if they're even going to make their own version of Liokaiser.
I did break down and eventually grab their version of Devastator but that wasn't until the price dropped about 30% on BBTS.
But as far as Trypticon goes. If he's not some how taller with a longer tail and darker grey, Takara can keep their version this time around.

Takara had extra weapons in their releases thats it. Smaller partners were present in both hasbro and takara versions.

The Unite Warriors line is over, and all has been revealed for that line.
I see no difference between this and people hoping to see the hasbro version of Galvatronus in a boxset getting released. Both are as likely.

Which basically means that my wallet will be taking a break then since that movie crap means nothing to me.
Or perhaps I'll buy that Megatronia set (or whatever she's called) if it drops down about 50%.
Didn't mind the idea of having a Decepticon fembot combiner set but "No Way" was I ever paying almost $200.00 for a re-re-repaint of what was initially Defensor 3 repaints ago.

They could've just included some repainted titan master vehicles as Brunt, Gasket and Grommet. Weird that they included them with the Deluxes but not the Titan size.

You are looking at this the wrong way. The cost to make a totally new combiner system with the two deluxes for a mid section and CW compatibility would be very high since there would be 0 Hasbro backing (unlike say, the new tooling for legends Leader Prime). They have a smaller market, so doing all this new stuff just for one toy could not be worth it for them.
Anyways, we already know its not happening, the line is declared over.

So I guess that means you will be buying Funko Pops then for a while ?
You might want to consider buying the "NEW" (<- Note the Quotes) TLK Legion Bumblebee to review simply to rant the heck out of the fact that Hasbro is so cheap that they have reissued the ROTF Legion (not even the slightly better AOE one but the ROTF one !!!)
That is crazy - I have this cynical idea that they are holding off on making some decent Bumblebee's this time so they can flood the market with yellow toys when the Bumblebee Movie comes out.
If they get to The BB Movie and they still have not made a nicer 1970's Bee I will be irked - and that applies to Deluxe and Legion both.
---
As for the Legends Brand - I wouldn't be surprised if they give it a new name and begin re-numbering as that is an excuse they can use to release repaints some times - if they put them in another line.
I'm guessing The Black Convoy is going to be Legends affiliated even if it's un-numbered and so might any future Millionare Publishing & E-Hobby items that get made too.
As I have speculated before it would make an awful lot of sense to release a new E-Hobby Fire Guts God Ginrai toy.
I can speculate though - as with the transition from Henkei / United and Legends and all that sat in the middle of that they shoved in some Animated and Prime toys too as filler (heck I'd still welcome a Blue Prime Smokescreen Deluxe and Black Bumblebee Deluxe using the FE or RID-12 Moulds). but I can see Takara perhaps leaning towards another semi- G1 related line concept as they'd quite likely want to find a home for things like the Clones from the Boxed sets (since they are new moulds). I don't think they'd want to get into the 60's in the numbering which is where they will be pretty soon if they carry on with the Legends Numbering... at least they seem to like to reset the numbers quite often.
I suspect the reason they do that as they'd want to make whatever new Optimus or similar is due but they'd not want to keep churning them out under the same brand name.

And why are people saying this news is unexpected? Metroplex, Devastator, and Fort Max were all released nearly simultaneously between the two companies.
Also, just because this was announced doesn't mean there'll be a sudden flood of new Legends releases. The previous three were all tied to the major line of the time (Generations, Unite Warriors, Legends) and it isn't like they're going to pass on Trypticon just because Legends is on break so there's really nothing else they can do but tie it in with Legends.

To me at least the unexpected (or somewhat surprising in some way) part is that he is specifically LG43, meaning there will be no other Legends releases until him.

Maybe their writers for the comic books are having writer's block trying to figure out a way to hash all these guys in (some with different bodies) and they need some time.

And the fact that it will be released as still part of the Legends line, rather than a part of a successor to the Legends line, is also newsworthy as it means that Legends isn't over yet despite the apparent hiatus that it looks to be taking after Godbomber.Kurona wrote:Emerje wrote:Metroplex from both Takara and SDCC came with a second gun. After all, the last three Titans were released by Takara in three separate lines. Trypticon will be the first time that a Takara line has had a second Titan class figure released under its label.

Trypticon is listed with an MSRP of 25000 yen, which is the same price point as the previous Titan figures released in Japan. So expect this figure to be sold for about 18700 Yen ($170 USD) at Japanese stores and closer to his MSRP ($225 USD) at importers.
Action Robo also states that the release date is end of August,2017.

Megatron at least looks like he might be worth it THIS time (as opposed to the collywobbled messes he was in most of the other movies). But him? I can wait for. Having been disappointed many times by the Bayverse figures already, I can live with them coming out later, if it means Trypticon comes out sooner

Why? Takara's Devastator came with retooling, individual weapons and the face switch. The SDCC version didnt. Meaning its just as likely for some extra parts to be Takara exclusive and not offered with the SDCC version.
EDIT: Also, Emerje, you forget a very important point: Hasbro is not attending SDCC this year.

Another point I'd like to add: TR Trypticon and LG Dinosaurer are apparently set to be released around the same time frame. Usually there are a couple months between US and Japanese releases, time for TakaraTomy to add features or retool sections. There being no "lag" may lead to a straight redeco without extras.

Yes, exactly. Which is why some wondered if Hasbro would be skipping SDCC this year, since they said "see you next at" or something along those lines.

I got my set earlier tonight. Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed. Before, I had just gotten the Hasbro versions of Chromedome and Brainstorm and put their heads on the Takara version Transtectors, which was okay, but having the molds now match the rest of the plastic and paint colors makes them look complete! Plus, the extra heads can still be useful as color-coordinated Targetmasters or pilots for the repainted mini-vehicles the Takara Deluxes snagged from the Hasbro Titan Masters.

It was confirmed in an interview that they were made congruently with Hasbro's being dumbed down to reduce the parts count. My understanding was that Hasui and Yuki worked on the sets together with the former primarily doing the Hasbro version and Yuki doing the Takara Tomy version. The UW version isn't really a retooling, just a different path in the design process.

That still hasn't been confirmed yet and I have my doubts about the accuracy. It makes no sense for them to entirely bypass the entire summer con season like that. SDCC has always been a big deal for them, especially in a movie year. If they were to skip any convention it would be NYCC which is right after HASCON.

You forget Cybertron Con, Hasbro made a HUGE deal of that last year and thats where we even had our first glimpse at Trypticon along with more reveals than what we saw at this year's toy fair (in terms of mainline gen figures).
You could have the figure available at that show as n exclusive and then sell it to the US on HTS.
Hasbro has been favouring Asia a lot lately. That TLK Leader Prime evil version is an Asia exclusive.
Posted by RAR on March 2nd, 2017 @ 9:50am CST
But I think the convention dates are an important factor in deciding the Titan of the years release date so this sort of time in 2018 we will be anticipating Scorpy's release (unless they decided to shuffle the order of release) - I wouldn't suggest that as a good idea though as Scorpy fits the theme carry over easily into 2018 - where as they have to jam him in at the fagend of the Prime Wars 3.0 line in very early 2019 if they let it run that long - which I don't think they would.
So Takara's releases will partly follow that sort of pattern - though I am expecting them to shove some things out that are related to Zone and Victory and other Japanese exclusive content that Hasbro may not over the next couple of years.
I wonder if they have considered a Galva Lio Convoy or Black Lio Convoy repaint of The spiked pussy cat mould at all as some sort of convention or store exclusive - they used to pair moulds a lot in the old days like that. (Like Micron Convoy or Hot Rod).

You know, SDCC has become just as much a Hollywood expo as it is for comics. I kinda doubt Hasbro would miss a chance to plug the movie to a primarily Sci-fi Fantasy audience.william-james88 wrote:Emerje wrote:It makes no sense for them to entirely bypass the entire summer con season like that.
