Breakdown, is pretty great in robot mode, but I'm a bit disappointed in his vehicle mode. Guess they saved the repaint until last. Still, he doesnt look bad and at least has the spoiler. Pre-ordered and I cant wait to finally complete a great looking Menasor.
Needlenose, I am glad he is a deluxe, as for some reason him being same size as the Seekers doesnt seem right, dont know why. As a bunch already said; his targetmasters are a bit of a let-down. Pre-ordered.
A Hero is Born set, is very sweet looking. About time we had a good looking Alpha Trion and Vector Sigma will be icing on the cake. Orion Pax looks cool too but not the main draw for me. Pre-ordered.
Lio Convoy is awesome looking, but I cant fit him in my collection. Already have the TFCC one and fairly satisfied with it. Hot Shot looks good too and glad Armada fans get new stuff. These new Junkions almost got me, but Ima wait to see more. Its a cool system looks like. Core Dinobots, meh, but interested to see the retool/repaints.

Only for the Earthspark line. They have the toys at the show and they can now be preordered online. You also have random super 7 statues.

I still ask myself how could They spoil Menasor with those "broken" cars on the arms and, most of all, with Breakdown and Wildrider on the back of the legs (ad made from two identical molds, except for the legs, so Breakdown's alt mode has a Ferrari front with a Lamborghini rear): the choiche of linking BD and WR in that position is unexplanable. It could have benn a great figure, otherwise.

To me the arms look less broken now that they don't have two (four?) elbows made from two skinny rods holding the ends together. Never really liked the CW elbow solution.

To me it looked like the combiners had gorilla arms that way. So I always kept mine collapsed. Yeah, it took away elbow articulation, but it looks better on display and it's more stable. But I guess it depends on how much one likes to pose the combiners differently.Emerje wrote:Barricade.it wrote:Tarn is the coolest figure since a long time. The rest of him looks terrible as well. The upper torso has little actual detailing, most of it looks fairly flat except for the silver pieces. And that car mode? Definitely inferior to both the original and Universe releases. Which is surprising, considering Starscream turned out very well. Hopefully Armada Prime lands on that side of the fence.Siger wrote:Hotshot's legs look terrible. He's a "from the waist and up" bot. Interested to see the review on it.

I always have the legs extended if the arms are. Made them biggerand more proportionate. It's not that noticable on CW menasor using the folded car front vehicles as legs. They always have deluxes stood in front of them for the most part but stability is greatly reduced (worse for bruticus due to the way swindle/brawn form the legs). some kind of 3d printed plug in piece should help with that though.

Transformation is, overall, pretty great! Tolerances are good and everything locks together in both modes well, all his parts move around quite a bit more than you'd think going from robot mode, speaking of in that mode he does cut a very clean, intergrated figure. Tall too. The jet mode is also solid, the cockpit area being hollow on the bottom is a little baffling given just how considered the rest is. I ported the smaller transparent gun on to the bottom and that covered it up well enough, but it's really not a big deal nor is the arms being on the bottom of the hull.
Overall, if you have the same semi wacky taste as me, he's worth a check

I so hoped that he was going to fill a slot in my Decepticon Army and in my heart that has been empty for so long.
But then this atrocious mishap hits our collective doorstep.
WTF?!
I truly thought that we had grown beyond this crap!
I thought Transformers design was advanced and trying not to be this 2 bit joke that we all fell for 20 years ago!
But here it is again!
A folded up pile of kibble robot hiding under a jet.
Really?
REALLY!?
no thanks.

I'm looking forward to it. There's only so much a Deluxe can do to hide bot kibble and at least there's a transformation beyond a bot tucking in his arms and legs. His bot mode is perfection (ignoring the gaps because it's 2022 and they aren't really worth pointing out anymore).

Red Cog himself though is a good figure, much like normal Cog, though mine has a stronger connection in the combined vehicle mode than my normal Cog did for some reason. Overall I'd say it's a good set, just wish it wasn't so overpriced for what it is

But sometime, TrU throw some unexpected sale our way.
It's the case for Red Cog, who is CHEAPER than regular deluxe price at 33$CAN (24$US)!
The catch is it's local pick up only so you must have a TrU in your area that have one in stock. I managed to catch one. Will you?

Also, holy crap that regular price. 55$CAN (40$US) is no joke...

The jetbots of TF PRIME had no problem incorporating body parts into the fuselage of Starscream or Dreadwing. The designer just took the time, skill & imagination that was necessary to get the best out of form. This thing might as well be straight out of Combiner Wars! Further back! Machine Wars!
In CW, wasn't one of the big complaints about how Silverbolt wasn't doing much robot in disguising?
The bot mode is... okay. I just had better hopes for 2023. This the future! If we can't get jetpack or flying cats, can we at least get transformers that try to give a scrap?

Isn't just Chromia's gun from Siege? The barrel attachment no longer works as a scope and the connection point is designed differently. I still like having the extra guns, specifically for Spin-Out and Cordon who got jipped outta weapons like Sunstreaker, but it's just such an odd choice to design a completely new mold, based on an existing mold, and take away functionality

Like I said, Deluxe. Those two were Voyagers, they had more room and higher parts counts to work with to maneuver parts around. The Deluxe Beast Hunters versions of Starscream and Dreadwing made no attempt to hide the bot parts.

I’ll give you Starscream. He was well designed with very little robot visible under the jet.
Transformers Prime: Robots In Disguise Starscream Gallery
Dreadwing / Skyquake, not so much. Rose tinted nostalgia glasses and all.
Transformers Prime: Robots In Disguise Skyquake Gallery
However, both of them were Voyager Class figures.
NeedleNose is a deluxe that had to share budget with his target masters. That alone puts a hamper on his engineering.
If you want a good deluxe comparison, I’d say the Titan’s Return Triggerhappy and his retools are quite good in that respect but are more cybertronian.
For the class size and constraints I think Needlenose is o.k. Could he be better, sure, but he’s definitely not terrible.

Selects is for redecos and remolds, though, not new molds. In order for Needlenose to have been released in Selects, he would've had to have been a redeco of an existing mold instead of his own new mold.Rodimus Prime wrote:Yeah, I was bothered by Needlenose at 1st, but I've come to terms with the fact that it's the best were gonna get. It would have freed up sone of the budget of the Targetmasters to go towards Needlenose himself. But it's either this or the hella expensive TFCC figure.

Regardless, we've had voyager jet molds in WFC (I can't remember if we had deluxes), and if the WFC Astrotrain mold can be rereleased in Legacy, so can others, whether retooled or just redecoed. And Selects is online only, so the price can be more flexible to accommodate the extra Targetmaster.

At this point (almost four years into the line), it kinda goes without needing to say. Well, some remolds in Select are so extensive, they might as well be their own brand new molds at this point.
Perfect example: Super Megatron.

Seems smaller than I would have thought and apparently, it suffers from a hollow head...
Still, this might mean we can get more variety of future Junkions for army building with any eventual remolded/repainted versions?
I couldn't find legit photos of this figure at Seibertron's main news page (although I only skimmed the front page admittedly) so here's a link to pics by one of the designers:

The Evolution Junkions are like the Fossilizers/Modulators/Weaponizers from Siege where they break apart and can swap parts between them like in the movie. I don't believe this applies to Wreck-Gar and Junkyard, however you can still give them pieces because of the 5mm ports they have

I got the "A hero is born" set the other day. It's pretty good, but it meets my expectations of Alpha Trion being just too much like Scourge to be AT. I mean the mold really fits well, but Scourge is just soi distinctive that I have a hard seeing him as AT, especially in vehicle mode.
Orion Pax, however, hits all the right notes. It'd be great if someone made a 3P trailer for him, but I fear those days are over.
All in all I have no regrets on buying the set. It's really great, and this AT is probably the best official version we've ever gotten.

No cap…
I don’t want him to be an exclusive, but if the only way to get Sunstreaker back onto pegs is by adding him to the Buzzworthy line, so be it.
Hastak should also retool Breakdown’s spoiler for him and throw that in too.
I think AT & OP look great, but they just don’t fit in my collection.
I also wish Scraphook’s face & head sculpts were different… It’s almost like they tried to make him too badass-looking… Junkions may be tough, but for me they should have that borderline goofy, awkward look.
I’m also not a fan of how much smaller these deluxes will be compared to Wreck-gar & Junkheap.
Overall these just aren’t for me.

-Legacy Tarantulas
-All 3 retail Legacy Leader Class figures from this year (Laser OP, Blitzwing, TM2 Megs)
-ER Ramjet and Dirge
-Possibly Kingdom Cheetor and ER Wheeljack (we have no evidence for or against these repacks having been actually cancelled and not just pushed back)
-Core Class Bomb-Burst and Starscream
Nothing on Sunstreaker.

Not sure why Wheeljack gets so much attention and Sunstreaker gets nothing.

I believe the running theory is it's because Wheeljack is set to be in Rise of the Beasts in addition to his presence in all the recent shows, which would explain why they would be interested in repacking specifically him and Cheetor and why they either pushed back or cancelled those repacks in conjunction with the movie getting pushed back.Overcracker wrote:Not sure why Wheeljack gets so much attention and Sunstreaker gets nothing.
Either that or it's just a coincidence of timing I guess?
