TFND's Genetic is at it once again after getting his hands on TakaraTomy Asia Premium Series Ultimate Optimus Prime: APS-01U! He grabbed his camera and made a very in depth gallery for everyone to enjoy, featuring his enormous arsenal and stunning paint applications. The figure is based on Dark of the Moon Leader/Supreme Jetwing Optimus Prime, which has been added the vast number of variants this mold holds. That looks great, I love the additional gold accents on the figure and that tiny blue dot on his eyes.

Its a bit dissapointing that the smokestacks are still that ugly gray-soft-weird-straw-like pipes.

I still prefer the Abs and the chrome on buster prime, I wished he had the same chrome pieces and more, that shield would look amazing with chrome.

Overall great figure...

I kinda wish the hands were a lighter grey. Also, still want a battle mask.

Those are the figure's only real flaws, in my eyes.

hes sick, no doubt, to those that get him enjoy. The reason i passed, no battle mask no can do, that face has bugged me from the day i saw it in the movies, ive passed on all the face versions.......just cant do it. Ill stick with buster.

It's sad to see how badly the mold has degraded. Parts not fitting, warping, etc. It's a fantastic figure, it's a solid mold and it's transformation is among the most difficult, but it's time to either retool it and make it new or retire it.

If the product coming out of it is going to be like what's seen with APS-01U, it's not going to get better, only worse.

Shame, because it deserves better.

Just received the Facebook message from one of the clients of mine located in Germany.He got his APS-01U today and is really disappointed! Sloppy paint job, not movie accurate at all, some parts have missing paint applications .Simply said not worth it. Just as I predicted in the past. Giving something name "ultimate" doesn't mean ultimate!
