It's different in Japan as I don't think they counted exclusives like SS Thundercracker

TakaraTomy didn't release exclusives outside of Retro Rock Garage, VW Bumblebee from the Then and Now set, and Drift with the Baby Dinobots; all were numbered SS-EX.
The numbering for the upcoming Hasbro releases are:
#62: Soundwave
#63: Autobot Topspin
#64: Cliffjumper
#65: Blitzwing
#66: Constructicon Overload
Note: I use "#" to separate Hasbro numbering from the "SS-##" TakaraTomy one.

But yes, a Studio Series listing was leaked with the name "Leader '86 Grimlock and Wheelie", and a "Deluxe '86 Gnaw"

Some of us have been miffed about that since Bungledbee.Rtron wrote:It's not so much hate as just absolutely tired of everything having to be G1, when there's other 6 main generations to explore. On their own, I love the G1 designs. In context, I despise that everything has to be about those designs all the time, specially in the last 8 years or so. G1 already has the WFC Line, and has had the Prime trilogy before that, and that's not counting the Classics/Universe reinterpretations of G1 that came even earlier than that. So some of us are pretty miffed that what seemed to be a little corner away from G1 is getting G1-ified too.
Hopefully the packaging will be branded to set them apart as a subline...Rtron wrote:But yes, a Studio Series listing was leaked with the name "Leader '86 Grimlock and Wheelie", and a "Deluxe '86 Gnaw"
How well has Studio Series been shifting, compared to the lingering SIEGE figures and the Earthrise figures they're tripping up the distribution of?

Studio Series is selling pretty well by me (Chicago area), with the exception of helicopter Dropkick who still lingers at a few stores, but even those stores are stocking new waves around them. They are even selling enough that I have found earlier releases that must have been stuck in a warehouse and passed over until recently, which tells me the warehouse is emptying out enough that the older cases are being pushed through.

I had a feeling. I'm suspecting these figures are being put in Studio Series to make use of the available shelf space.TF-fan kev777 wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:How well has Studio Series been shifting, compared to the lingering SIEGE figures and the Earthrise figures they're tripping up the distribution of?

Probably also to pad out the Studio Series line somewhat, keep it from getting to the end of doable movieverse characters too quickly.

No, color is it. But the color is important, since the bulldozer who's part of Devy in the movie was yellow.Rodimus Knight wrote:Aside from the color, is there anything different about skipjack?
Ideally, Rampage would have been a separate mold (or at least a heavy retool) that didn't combine (and thus, didn't make the sacrifices necessary for the combined mode).

Excited for Skipjack too. I love that mold, and I'll have no problem having Rampage as a standalone and Skipjack as a leg for my final Devastator

Having Rampage in hand, the paint work is really strong, they really worked with that sculpted in detail. He may not have elbows, but the rest of the package makes up for it pretty well

I'm really happy with the general look of Devastator, they finally gave him a great toy after 11 years!
I can't keep him combined for now, since I don't have Rampage, as I skipped him to get Skipjack as soon as he'll be released (already preordered)
I found the grinder on Mixmaster a lot less loose than I read/saw from some reviews. It kinda tabs in.
The grinder has a couple of "hooks" that lock on the central part of Mixmaster's barrel, and also has a couple of slots that are, theorically, used to connect with the tabs of the side parts of the barrel.
Also, I found an alternative configuration where you leave out the front section of the truck, but can tab the grinder to the side parts. This also ends up with a slighty more accurate look, with the side parts of the barrel covering part of the grinder.
As soon as I'll be able, I'll provide you some pics of it.

Potential SS 86 Blurr and Kup, plus new Jazz (might be 86 as well). Bumblebee is apparently an already known figure.
Posted by ZeldaTheSwordsman on July 10th, 2020 @ 9:04pm CDT
"Meh" on Blurr, "Ehhhh.. mayyybe" on Kup (I'd frankly rather just get a 3P conversion kit to give TR Kup the Legends version's arms and the G1 gun), "I suppose if you don't have the 2010 Jazz" on Jazz, and "Yeah whatever" on Bumblebee. Come on, where's Wreck-Gar?
Posted by Autobot N on July 10th, 2020 @ 9:11pm CDT
As a Jazz fan, the Special Ops Jazz is good, but my biggest want right now is a new Jazz with modern engineering and ankle tilts, so I'm really excited for this (if it's actually a G1 Jazz and not just a new movie one).ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Really.

It's pretty weird that I may very well get new versions of two of my most wanted G1 characters (Jazz and Grimlock) through Studio Series.
Posted by ZeldaTheSwordsman on July 10th, 2020 @ 9:39pm CDT
Ankle tilts (which are fun, but which I can take or leave, myself) are the only "modern engineering" thing Special Ops Jazz doesn't have. Well, he also doesn't properly have 5mm hands, but those aren't exactly a "modern engineering" feature. He does however have compatibility with the original Jazz's missile launcher, so there's that. But you're right that this could just be a repack of movie Jazz (I don't think they'd do a new figure of him; what would be the impetus?) instead.Autobot N wrote:As a Jazz fan, the Special Ops Jazz is good, but my biggest want right now is a new Jazz with modern engineering and ankle tilts, so I'm really excited for this (if it's actually a G1 Jazz and not just a new movie one).ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Really.

Something I didn't think of earlier: if it's a repack, wouldn't have the old UPC (whatever that number is supposed to represent)? Apparently, Bumblebee has been identified as an existing/already leaked figure because he has the same code as another release (now which one, I have no idea), and I haven't seen anything similar for Jazz.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:But you're right that this could just be a repack of movie Jazz (I don't think they'd do a new figure of him; what would be the impetus?) instead.
EDIT: Here's the news article with the UPCs

As for the new listings, this is giving my theory more hope. My theory is that the 86 guys are going to be there own sub line in SS, so they do not take away from the real SS figures. This would work how ER and Netflix siege figures are released now. There have been 5 real SS deluxes and 4 (possibly 5) 86 deluxes now leaked. With one 86 leader leaked, now we just need the two voyager figures and it will match up with how wave 1 of the Netflix figures were released. This is just my theory and hopes.

Interestingly, it also lines up well with the rumors that WFC 3 is subtitled "Kingdom" and is BW themed with a 50/50 or 45/55 split between BW and G1. Makes sense that they'd push some G1 figures into Studio Series so they can celebrate the 86 Movie's anniversary in one line and BW's anniversary in the other. As for the new listings, this is giving my theory more hope. Evidently, Apollux on TFW2005 knows a guy who has seen some of WFC 3, and called it "Kingdom" before that word started appearing on all of the Netflix posters. In addition to the stuff I said in my last comment, he also said that Micro/Battlemasters are being replaced by a new Legends-ish class, and the new Weaponizers are skeletal dinosaurs called Fossilizers.Sentinel_Primal wrote:I'm hoping that with the 86 stuff being made that we get Beast Wars stuff in WFC part 3. Take it with a grain of salt as always, but similar leaks have been true in the past, like Catz leaking half of Earthrise.

Speaking of Apollux, and more on-topic for this thread, from a post a half-hour ago they have apparently seen in terms of SS 86 stuff:
Voyager Scourge
Voyager Hot Rod, with saw and possibly flip-down visor
Kup with Energon goodies, presumably the Deluxe one in those earlier listings
Potential Leader Slag with Daniel
And given how much of the prominent movie cast is now here between various leaks, I'm assuming that that Cyclonus we saw a bit ago with ER Thrust is probably for SS 86 too.
Posted by ZeroWolf on July 11th, 2020 @ 7:23am CDT
The new listings is as follows:

TRA GEN SS DLX KUP $18.84
UPC 63050997823 Item 582921129
TRA GEN SS JAZZ $18.84
UPC 63050997833 Item 582921131
TRA GEN SS BLURR $18.84
UPC 63050997828 Item 582921135
Also listed are Jolt, Gnaw, Dino and Bumblebee.
While it could be argued that Jazz may be a redeco of his earlier Studio Series release, the same can not be said for Kup or Blurr who never appeared in the live action movies and featured heavily within the animated movie which celebrates it's 35th anniversary next year. This also hints that the previously seen Cyclonus may be destined for Studio Series, and not Earthrise as previously thought.
Thanks to fellow Seibertron user, Autobot N, for sharing this on our boards.

That would be devastating if true. I’m pretty sure it’s the DOTM one, though.
Considering that we now have 5 standard SS deluxe listings (Sideswipe, B-127, Dino, Jolt, and ROTF Bee) and 4 SS86 deluxes (Gnaw, Blurr, Kup, and Jazz), I don’t think the 86 movie figures will be sharing waves with Bayverse SS, instead I’m pretty sure it’ll be its own subline.

The last time they released the five Dinobots in POTP they all had a "Dinobot" prefix in their names on the packaging (e.g. - "Dinobot Snarl", "Dinobot Swoop", "Dinobot Grimlock", even "Dinobot Slash"). It would make sense for new listings to reflect that.Rodimus Prime wrote:I think they would have used the character's name if it was 1 of the Dinobots.
And it wasn't just a combiner subgroup thing since, while four of the five Terrorcons likewise had a "Terrorcon" prefix in their package names, Sinnertwin did not.

Is.
Perfect!
I've skipped every Kup so far, but now want one to go with my Wreckers. Was almost ready to pull the trigger on the Legends Headmaster release, but no more!
Just further proof that if you're willing to be patient, Hasbro will eventually release the figure that scratches all your itches.
I hope, anyway.

Fair argument, my counter is that there is enough room in the listing to type out "Dinobot" instead of just "Dino" if this was the case. After all, they fit "Dlx Kup" on there. Same amount of space as "Dinobot" They also wrote out "Bumblebee" which is more letters than "Dinobot" as well, so I think it's Dino for sure.Sabrblade wrote:The last time they released the five Dinobots in POTP they all had a "Dinobot" prefix in their names on the packaging (e.g. - "Dinobot Snarl", "Dinobot Swoop", "Dinobot Grimlock", even "Dinobot Slash"). Plus these are for deluxe size, where looking at the size of the Dinobots in the 86 movie, I reckon all will be voyager+ size (we already know that Grimlock will be leader sized) which leaves Dino in deluxe scale, to match the rest of the DotM wreckers
