Yea, as much as I like the Platinum versions, the Dinobots were definitely not transparent in the movie...

Nah they are all pretty much like Hasbro packaging with Japanese. I got the Black Knight Leader Grimlock and it's basically the same as US leader Grimlock packaging.

Some stores in Singapore and Hong Kong carry TakaraTomy stuff I think, but don't count on those Black Knights:
- Strafe is a Cybertron Satellite exclusive
- Scorn is exclusive to Ideon, Kojima, Bic Camera, Best Denki and Yamada Denki
- Slug is exclusive to Joshin Kids' Land and Yodobashi Camera
All of them Japanese stores, while Cybertron Satellite is a stand that makes the rounds there. The only mass-retail Black Knight is Grimlock.

Wow, how do you know all this? That's impressive. And Cybertron Satellite is interesting all on its own (I am trying to wrap my head around it's business model, but then again I still dont get the Takara/Hasbro relationship on a business perspective).
So I am guessing Vietnam wouldnt have any of that stuff then, that's where I am going soon. Too bad there arent any Hasbro asian exclusives out right now (except for MP-10 rerelease, but I already got that covered)

If there's one thing Takara is known for is ACCURACY.

Having that bookmarked and being able to read Japanese (katakana at the very least) goes a long way

the business model looks like this: back in 1984 Takara, had the seeds of an idea about a series of transforming alien robots. Hasbro said "That's cool; let's help you nurture it." they took the rights, or borrowed them at least, spread them out to their larger markets (Hasbro UK, Asia, etc) and helped those seeds grow into what it is today. As far as territories themselves; Takara, and a lot of Japanese companies tend to remain within their own borders. Part of an old culture of isolation, maybe, but that's a guess. Hasbro however, being a separate company and a larger company andone destined for WORLD DOMINATION!!! is able/willing to distribute into its different little feelers. I would imagine there is some kind of non complete clause in place around the East-Asian border and it may extend to other areas should Takara want to go global, but Tak-Tom seems pretty happy with the size of their market (and there are a LOT of people in that small slice of the world) and where Hasbro has done the footwork for them.
no, Vietnam will not have the Takara stuff unless you get into a private importer. your best bet is to order it either from BBTS robot Kingdom. I think TFsource usually has the best prices but I don't know if they are carrying. I ordered Scorn from BBTS, 39.99+shipping but I have other things coming too.
Scorn to me looks like he's got just enough grey on him that he'd fit into the SDCC set better than the retail red version. (I don't trust my hand enough to paint those chromes) That was my only complaint, the SDCC set had Snarl, the BBTS shared exclusive had Scorn, I wanted both, preferably in G1-esque. It's not ideal, Scorn's too copper-gold, and a matte Grey looking, but he's closer than cherry red.

Good to know there is a reason behind the bad grammer and lack of ponctuation, but man, that is really hard to read. If you can, when you get home or close to a laptop, could you edit the post and add some periods. Because what you wrote really interests me but is also quite hard to understand.

Based on stores around me they have a about a 2-3 week delay in most cases. I did see the re-release of Waspinator, and that wave recently. And they are probably about to receive or have received a good bit of this wave 3 and have no room for them...
I do have pretty much all I want from the AOE line... This last wave has nothing really interesting other than Snarl if you didn't get the Takara Version (I did.. I couldn't wait any more...) Hot shot is not really all that "neat" as Hot shot seems to be a miss labeling / lose of the proper name! erhem Tracks... Ugh! Bumblebee was already released as a double pack at TRU... Though I hope it has some slight re-paint to it for this wave...

Movie lines are the primary part of my collection, with a bit of CHUG and a heavy dose of 3rd party thrown in. (Probably more 3rd party than CHUG...although I should probably do a count.) As for BKG? Thanks, but no thanks. I'm fine with the copper colored mass release one.
Now, the redeco/remold of Optimus that's coming? Oh yeah, that one's preordered.

People were expecting a re-shelled retool rather than a straight redeco.Fires_Of_Inferno wrote:I don't see what people are disappointed about. This is exactly what I thought a deluxe Stinger figure would be.
But the thing is, guys, though Hasbro didn't state this publicly at the panel, it was stated at the Hasbro booth at BotCon 2014 that there were indeed plans to remold Bumblebee into Stinger as a full blown Pagani, but the figure never made it all the way through the production process and was dropped. Thus, no remolded mold for Stinger exists, leaving it to fall to Takara to give us a straight redeco.

No, there's only one Stinger in the movie's final battle. Those multiple red bots you see are Traxes.BERSEKAEL wrote:Well I think this is right, just a pre movie concept as the plot says: "based on Bumblebee, but improved in every aspect... Stinger" therefore is an attempt before taking the pagani shape, besides Stinger has many forms in the movie so this should be just one of those.

1) Why do people never follow the "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst" principle? We all expected a simple redeco at the very least, anything more would have been a bonus.
2) This is probably the first red Movie-verse Bumblebee that isn't a Cliffjumper.

3) It seems red is the universal color of bad luck for cars. Ratchet was changed from the planned red to his current neon green, Dino and Stinger both have toys that do not match their car models in the movie (except for Dino's Speed Star and Stinger's One-Step toy).
